Name a Band / Song We Should Know About

And this. This I love!

WHOOOOWEEEEE!! 20th anniversary edition of Stankonia is out today.

One of my fav electronic bands covering a Beatles classic. Yes please. The intro sounds very “Stranger Things”.

Lane 8 recently popped up in my recommendations and I enjoyed this one:

Deftones is releasing a White Pony remix album called Black Stallion. I like the Purity Ring one so far.

New Busta

Nice use of GTA V graphics.

Ashley Barrett has done some great vocals for Supergiant Games soundtracks in the past. This one from their most recent game Hades is really good.

And since this is the post a song thread, here is the song that DJ Hollywood says inspired him to create that original late 70s rap cadence.

A bit of a late response, but this song is brilliant. I've never heard it before, so a big thank you for sharing it. It reminds me a little of the Country Funk compilation that was put out a few years ago. I definitely recommend that too!

This is one of my favorite country funk jams. I think I’d heard an interview with him where he explained that he didn’t own his publishing rights. So when Elvis Presley recorded the song, the label got rich but he got zip. Sad.

New Aesop Rock album is super great.

I heard someone say that this LP is like beat poetry, and I’d have to agree. Lyrically amazing.

Oh hey and a new video dropped today, too. Great song.

Ya new Aesop album was all good. New Puscifer is good too. New AC/DC was kinda bland.

Earlier in this thread, some folks expressed disappointment that Aesop allegedly uses a thesaurus while writing his lyrics. This current LP is as verbosely diverse as any of his other endeavors, yet I can’t for the life of me pinpoint any line or verse where I could say with confidence that it was a product of thesaurus humping.

This video is so trippy and dreamlike...

Worth watching this Puscifer video if only to see Maynard's fantastic dancing.

Fantastic Negrito (sorry if its a repost). Great new style blues with some real angles in it:

Thanks for the suggestion. Just a few tracks in but really enjoying it.

Yeah!! Great album. He was a member of Prince’s band, too.

This song has been on my mind a lot recently for multiple obvious reasons

Love the whole album

KT Tunstall kills it with a Pomplamoose U2 cover

The finale of that Phoebe Bridgers album from this year has a video now. It really gets to the heart of 2020. I love it, I relate to it so much, and it makes me sad.

Edit:

Spoiler:

I think the weird make out with your grandma thing at the end is the realization of how fascism circles back.

This popped into my head earlier this afternoon.
I looked and saw it was in 2015 and yup, that confirms the world ended in 2016.
And we are all living in a self immolating extended universe a la Donnie Darko because God loves his children:

edit: Okay, maybe we are still alive after hearing that KT Tunstill U2 cover ;P

Honoring Alice in Chains a bunch of great performances and covers.
