For example, if a hedgehog riding a motorcycle were to run into a person, then you may assume that any injuries immediately suffered by the person were the result of the HMVA or hedgehog motor vehicle accident. Although, in such a case, you couldn’t completely rule out the possibility that injuries actually resulted when the person subsequently fell on a tarantula holding a knife.

I didn't have Mitch McConnell is Watermelon Man on my bingo card.

The last couple weeks, I've been working to help train contact tracers for COVID-19. That kind of cyanosis (bluish color around the lips and extremities) is one of the warning signs we train contact tracers to warn patients to look out for. It can be a sign of a severe COVID infection. I'd like to know the date of McConnell's last negative COVID test.

My guess is blood thinners combined with a blown vein from an arm draw. I had an uncle who took blood thinners for a heart condition and that bruising looks pretty in line with how he looked a lot of the time.

Does that explain his lip and it definitely looks like he has some scabbing on his chin and eye. I suspect he may have fallen. Or lost his balance and braced himself awkwardly.

(either that or the GOP truly have the undead and demons in their midst...)

My money is on zombie bite.

Mitch is exactly the asshole in the zombie movie that wouldn't tell anyone he was bitten because he thought he was "special".

Let's not leave out the possibility of it being a funky STI.

Serious Turtle Illness?

I mean, I'd prefer to rule that out so that I don't have to imagine the scenario in which he got it.

Ooh, steamy turtle sex!

Mitch?

Kudos to the writers of 2020. I thought that the murder hornets were going to be a dangling plot line, but they managed to incorporate it into the runup to the season finale.

I warned people that the murder hornets were Chekhov's gun.

The state agriculture department spent weeks searching, trapping and using dental floss to tie tracking devices to Asian giant hornets

Pretty sure it was interns tying those tracking devices to hornets with dental floss.

The amount of bullsh*t in this defense is truly mind-blowing.

Lawyer for accused domestic terrorist says suspect was just 'playing army'
Satawa [The defendant's lawyer] paints a different picture. "This was, in many ways, a campout," he said. "There were bonfires and cookouts and barbecues and so even the government's evidence suggests that only a small fraction of the people that were there were part of the conversation (about kidnapping Whitmer)."
He rejects allegations that the men, whom he calls "a group of guys in the woods playing army,"

A woman who was a write-in gubernatorial candidate in 2018 was just arrested for conspiring to kidnap and execute Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. Renea Turner was trying to organize a group of people who would "arrest" DeWine and "try" him for tyranny because he listened to public health officials during the COVID-19 outbreak. One of the people she was trying to recruit spoke to the police about her plot.

Turner got 185 write-in votes in 2018 including one from the person who turned her over to the police.

I'm slightly concerned because Turner doesn't seem to be associated with the group that the Michigan militia who wanted to do the same thing to Gov. Whitmer traveled to Ohio to meet with. I suppose that means there's another militia group out there who's plotting to take out DeWine.

There are likely multiple militia groups, independent of one another, who have begun actively "planning" to commit violence against Democratic leaders for listening to public health officials.

I only put "planning" in quotes because the fibbies have a history of stings that basically amount to goading a guy into attempting to do a crime, arresting him and then acting like they did something amazing.

The difference being DeWine is Republican. He literally put out a statement today praising the Senate for confirming Barrett, and Republicans are literally trying to eat their own so that they can be as selfish as humanly possible and not meet basic health standards.

EDIT: Yeah, did some digging and there's plenty of right-wingers calling out DeWine as a RINO today after it was revealed a group was planning on kidnapping and murdering him.

Is the War on Terror still a thing because, if so, we've got a bunch of terrorists inside the US that need to be looked at. No need to go halfway around the world.

It's only terrorism if it's from the Arabian Peninsula, otherwise it's sparkling extremism.

If it's brown, shut it down.
If it's white...give it a badge and a gun.

I think this is tasteless to joke about and I suggest you move on.

Politico: Judge orders USPS to reverse mail collection limits now
Emmet Sullivan’s orders are highly detailed.

A federal judge on Tuesday night ordered the U.S. Postal Service to reverse limitations on mail collection imposed by Trump-backed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, giving the agency until Wednesday morning to inform workers of the court's changes as more mail-in ballots continue to flood in.

In a highly detailed order, Judge Emmet Sullivan of the District Court for the District of Columbia granted an emergency motion by plaintiffs against President Donald Trump to enforce and monitor compliance with Sullivan's previous injunction tied to USPS services.

No later than 9 a.m. Wednesday, the judge said, agency workers must be told that a USPS leader's July guidelines limiting late and extra trips to collect mail are rescinded.

The judge is also ordering them to have a daily 3pm videoconference with the plaintiffs to discuss how to post office is complying with the order.

I was born in '79, so, no.

Judge Sullivan's also handling the Flynn case and the DOJ's abrupt dropping of charges even after Flynn's guilty plea. It's fair to say he's seen all he needs to of the Trump regime's legal shenanigans and is all out of patience with their crap. Unfortunately at 73 he's probably too old to elevate from District Court to the DC Circuit.
