Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

I love Pyxistyx’s art. She is a starving artist and could use the community’s help to get an up to date laptop which would enable her to create more art in a more timely manner.

She has set up a go fund me. Please help if you are able to. Thanks.

I'm in.

Holy crap. I had seen a few of these clips from the "Post a video..." thread. But my goodness this show is spectacular! I've given up on work today and I'm just watching Episode 1 now. This is so good.

Wait until series 4. Hugh Dennis and Mel Giedroyc are by far my favorite contestants so far. And they team them up often, which is just great. I was rolling on the floor during one of their team tasks that involves a garbage cart.

And I think Hugh is one of my favorites because he takes the tasks seriously, but takes nothing else in the whole show seriously. He's just there to have fun and it's plainly obvious.

I'm watching series 6 now, and Liza Tarbuck is of a similar attitude.

Only just saw this, thank you for the callout and support Rawk et al

This made me happy. I've admired her work since college. This is really something special.

I get this staying up too late playing video games. I’ll confess it doesn’t give me quite the same sense of fulfilment. Tired? Yes. Earned? Probably not.......

I got this from playing XCOM practically nonstop over a two day period. Mrs. Rock accused me of being on the reefer. I looked like I had pinkeye in both eyes.

I've just (pre)ordered my first Makselife goal planner that I've been waiting for all week! I've never really been much of a planner person other than putting a few things into Google calendar, but I really want to focus on goals in the upcoming year and I'm hoping this planner system will be a big help, and I'll be able to do a lot of creative things in it that aren't possible in the digital realm of Google. I've already made a huge amount of progress this year, so the momentum must continue!!

You were playing XCOM. Justification enough if you ask me

Ain’t she purrrdy?

All last week I was waxing it panel by panel with a simple spray-on-wipe-off product. Today I legit washed it and towel dried it to get rid of hard water spots. It’s the best looking tractor in the yard. I think I’ll name her “milkshake”.

I'd be proud to receive a product delivered by that shiny truck.

Nice!

Man, I wish American Truck Simulator had Freightliners. Last month they added a Western Star, also a Daimler subsidiary, so maybe Freightliners are coming someday. The Western Star 49x, even though it's a brand new model, is kind of an old-style boxy looking thing, and I'm not a big fan of those. My current ride of choice is the Mack Anthem.

Macks are dope! The picture that I posted is of a Freightliner Cascadia. It’s incredibly comfortable and roomy in the cab even though the cab appears to be smaller than older models of tractors. Older model tractors can actually be very cramped on the inside; even older Macks which I enjoy driving very much.

I keep telling myself that I’m going to buy one of the truck simulator games, either American or European, but so far I haven’t done it.

I think I'd enjoy being a truck driver if my driving of large vehicles wasn't so unpredictable.

That's why the games are perfect, Bekkilyn...

Probably more personal than I normally like being on the internet, but whatever. My wife and I had a nice anniversary. We're only 4 years into marriage, so it's not a huge time and I don't think the marriage is close to being in jeopardy or anything, but between parenting, work, other family, 2020, etc, it can get pretty damn stressful and it's been easy to lose that connection. Days like today are super-important - like taking a mental health day, but for our relationship. The only real negative* is that we've waited for an occasion, rather than just doing it. Though I guess that's better than not doing it at all.

This is all extra important, as we've also just discovered we're expecting a second child!

*Ok, there's one more negative - despite warning work that I was taking today off, they still called me 3 times and messaged me a bunch more.

Four years is a big deal, congratulations! You're learning how to be resilient and deal with the change in the nature of the relationship that naturally occurs over time. You *should* be proud! Don't take it for granted; a lot of folks bail on their marriages in the first few years and you've made it past that point, you're doing something right.

And congrats on the rugrat front, too!

Yeah, celebrate victories! Congrats on your anniversary, and congrats on the impending addition to your family!

And just like Planet Zoo, they don't exist on console!

Yeah I think they'd have to sell custom controllers. I manage pretty well with just an Xbox controller on PC, but I don't do anything in the game manually.

I've wondered if games like this could use smartphone apps as secondary controllers or indicators. It must be hard to get it working or I suspect we would have seen some games like that by now.

Congratulations on the anniversary, baby, and surviving the pandemic. HUZZAAAHH!!

Its been my youngest 4th birthday today. I was a bit worried as we couldn't do any big parties or see grandparents for obvious reasons, but its been a lovely day and he seems to have really enjoyed it. I have however been hit in the face more times with a balloon than maybe I would have cared for.

Third time is the charm. After having to postpone it twice (once due to covid in general and once due to us having covid) my fiancé and I were finally able to tie the knot Friday evening. After the two postponements Plan C was basically to just go elope. It was just us, the officiant, a friend of hers who is a photographer and her husband, and some random passer-bys on the beach who yelled out congratulations as they drove by on their way to the Trump Parade they were holding further down the beach.

We had fun letting my family know about it. My niece's birthday party was today and we just showed up early at my moms house with me wearing my ring and waiting for them to notice. Took about 15 minutes before my mom noticed and asked why I was wearing a ring. My sister who showed up later was completely oblivious and my niece freaked out when she saw that we had signed her card "Uncle Steven & Aunt Andrea."

My wife let her family know by calling her mom and sending her a picture of what she wanted to do for Plan C, but the picture was one of our wedding pictures. It took her mom a minute to figure out it was us and that we had gotten married.

We are a good fit. We both like to mess with our loved ones

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

Congrats!!

That’s amazing, Rykin, I love that so much! Wish you two all the happiness in the world, congratulations!
