Adventure Time continues?!? How did I miss this?

First episode dropped a couple of days ago:

HBO Max has the entire series of Adventure Time and I have been slowly working my way through the first season. This show is such a wonderful fever dream.

It looks like the new episodes jump around the timeline of the show. That’s good for me. The last few seasons of the show the story became more linear, which makes sense because Finn is coming of age, but it caused me to lose a bit of interest.

Harley Quinn ended and I loved it. I'm not sure if there will be a second season. They killed a lot of people. The relationships were handled pretty good. I thought they were going to do something bad with Kiteman but they handled him pretty well. Even the plant guy got some action.

Interesting how the newer shows are handling LGBTQ relationships pretty good. She Ra, The Dragon Prince, this show, the hollow and Kipo all did them well. And no right wing Christian groups has said anything. That might be because the shows aren't on disney though.

Damn.. alot of talk about She-Ra... got me curious!

Yeah, I'm gonna have to check it out, too.

They really nailed the last season.

Yeah, the last episode of Harley Quinn was great! Admittedly it felt a bit like they skipped an episode with all the things that happened between the previous one and this one but overall it worked. I really did wonder how they were going to handle Kiteman and I agree that they did it fairly well.

Watched the first Adventure Time Distant Lands episode last night. Oh man, that is such a great show.

I think it is because these new shows are actually helmed and worked on by LGBTQ writers, etc.

they're too busy abusing trans folk to worry about battles they've already lost.

Guarantee as soon as there's a major trans character in a kids cartoon (not counting those hidden in the background like in she-ra) the nukes'll start flying.

Harley Quinn had a great season 2 finale, but I wouldn't call it a great series finale. The show has plenty of stories left to tell for its characters and that includes Harley and Ivy. It needs another season or two.

Is it July 30th yet?

Only 6 episodes in part 1 according to Polygon.

Yeah, pretty stoked for "Adult" Transformers. didn't know adventure time was back. Going to have to check that out.

I know one thing that makes this version of Transformers better - no humans!

The last three series didn't have humans.

Humans were a decent part of Transformers: Prime. They didn't have a lot of them, though.

Watched the first 2 'seasons' of the Prime Wars trilogy in the last couple nights. Yup. Better without humans, despite the short form limitations. Not great, but free from distractions, and a continuous story.

And yeah, Prime wasn't bad either. I actually enjoyed Prime a lot.

Wizards Tales of Arcadia is the final cartoon in the Troll Hunter / 3 Below universe. The show airs on Aug 7. Considering 3 below was chucked full of references to Troll Hunter I'm guessing this show will be chucked full of references to the other series. So you probably don't want to start with this series.

The Dragon Prince has been picked up for four more seasons which will conclude the series.

Happy day!!!

There's also a TTRPG out next year!

So Wizards, the next part of the Tales of Arcadia series is out now. I think I may go back and re-watch the old stuff first. Then again, it is only 10 episodes so maybe I'll watch, then re-watch everything...

What are people's thoughts on the older transformer series that didn't air in America? Are they worth going back to?

The Owl House is an amazing animated series on the Disney channel. I love everything about it. Go check it out!!

Gotta say, I'm not a fan of many of the reboots, but this clip gives me a bit of hope, despite the fact that the pop-culture reference is from the same year the show launched. Now that I think about it... that's the same issue I had with the first trailer. I think the only thing it really showed was a snippet with a Napster reference.

Eh, they know their target audience. And they're both Spielberg projects. I certainly hope the show itself doesn't lean too heavily on 90s memberberries, but I'm not going to fault them for pandering a little-- okay, a lot-- in the teaser.

Season 3 of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is on netflix.

I saw this pop up in the LGBTQ+ family friendly section. How is the show and is that claim accurate? Is it a big part of the show?

From Pink News:

The show also includes some quiet LGBT+ representation among its leads, with teen DJ Benson, played by Coy Stewart, casually coming out partway through the series.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts features low-key coming out scene

In the sixth episode, Kipo confesses a crush on Benson, who does not reciprocate her feelings.

Kipo says: “You like me as a friend.”

Benson replies: “Yes. Because, I’m gay.”

It’s a great show. Awesome music!!

Thanks!

I enjoy Kipo as well. In regards to Mixolyde's question it has a bigger part in season 2.

Certainly weren't much in the way of jokes in that trailer. Then again, I kinda hated the originals, so I'm probably not the target audience.
