Is Mass Effect 3 the Dragon Age 2 of the trilogy?

It’s a better game than that but both had endings that badly let down what had gone before. It’s not quite a straight comparison I would say.

Can we not do this again, please?

I am really impressed by the doggedness of this thread to keep debating the same three topics about games that released between 8 and 13 years ago. You would think that well would be run dry by now, but goodness no.

1. Final Fantasy 6.
2. ...

Oh wrong thread.

I'm happy with ME2 and 3 but then again I went back to 1 after finishing its sequels. I just thought it was cool to have something sci fi that wasn't Star Wars. Maybe I should grab the Outer Lands since it's on the Xbox Game Pass for free at the moment.

But is Darksiders any good? /deepcut

But everyone else is still wrong!

As in 'deeply flawed, but the most creative and authentic?' No that's ME1.

Authentic?

It's a future documentary, the others are future biopics.

Maybe 'earnest' would be better?

I finally replayed ME2 and 3 over the summer. ME2 is still good. ME3 remains something of a fustercluck. An awful lot of plot checks got written that bounced.

I think of it as the videogame equivalent of Lost.

More news that seems to point to a remaster came out of South Korea where a ratings board has issued a rating for a Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Hopefully we will get an announcement soon (N7 Day is just a few weeks out).

Maybe, just maybe, I'll have finished my late-night re-slog through of Andromeda by then.

No multiplayer, no point.

I sucked the marrow out of the Mass Effect series long ago.

I'd be thrilled with ME1 on my Switch, but couldn't care less about the rest of it.

Reportedly, Jennifer Hale is trying to get Brandon Keener (Garrus) into the panel as well.

"There's no Shepard without Vakarian."

Looks like Bioware is rolling out some new merch for N7 Day tomorrow.

A watch.

And a trilogy game?

What are the odds of a new ME title being dropped that isn't a remaster?

10% chance.

But a 100% chance it is a smartphone game. You'll have phones right?

Too soon!

Isn't it rumored that a new Mass Effect game might be coming. But probably only in 4+ years.
Best one can hope for now is the remaster.

Bioware of today isn't the same company it was when ME1&2 were made so what if they let Dice, Motive, or Respawn take a crack at a ME game? I have said for years that I would love more ME games that weren't action role playing games. Motive made Star Wars Squadrons which seems to be getting pretty good reviews so how about a space combat game in the ME universe? An FPS ME game that plays similar to Titanfall 2? A massive multiplayer Battlefield like game set during the Reaper War (not super interesting to me personally)? A ME themed colony builder from Maxis?

I've always wanted a narrative focused game set on the Citadel. I wouldn't say no to something from another developer in the ME universe, but I'd prefer something with a strong narrative focus, whatever genre they ended up going with.

Yeah, a Mass Effect game without a strong narrative focus would not seem interesting to me.

Don't know if I've expressed it here, but I have said in the past... somewhere... that I would love to get a Telltale-style ME game.

A Detective / investigation game set on the Citadel would have a wealth of Mass Effect lore to use and play around with. Could still be "Mass Effect" but down in the dirt of it's citizens rather than Universe saving special forces.

That could be great. Well, maybe more a Dontnod style game, but same thing mostly.
