Didn't they have some guy named Teddy there last year?

Yeah he was 5-0 as a starter too.

He's clearly on a bad team, but Teddy has not been good this year; he's been racking up garbage time yards. His 1st quarter passer rating is 69.7. 4th quarter? 113.2. Yard/attempt are jumping from 4.18 to 11.75. He's feasting on defenses that are happy to let him pass in desperation catch-up attempts.

He's at 72% completions. 6th among starting QBs. That's gotta count for something.

1st Half: 24/35, 207 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT
2nd Half: 31/41, 429 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

I've never really spent this much time looking at splits which may have something to do with refreshing Amazon for a Series X over and over. Bridgewater this year in the red zone is 3/8 for 28 yards, and more than 70% of his passing yards are on Carolina's side of the field.

And this was with McCaffery actually healthy. Enix is probably fully into Losers for Lawrence mode at this point.

I'll say, give it time. He may be having a Derek Carr-70%-but-ineffectual passing season like Carr did two years back.

How's Carolina's OL?

Week 3 thread isn't up yet?

I had climbed on board the Tanking for Trevor parade float at the start of the NFL season. Problem is, Fireman Ed and Friends and Giant Fans have hogged the whole damn thing. That's not to mention Lions Fans, who call it their permanent home.

Teddy has been ... inconsistent. He has made some pretty throws this year. He seems most sharp on short and mid-range throws, especially in the middle of the field. His reads seem good. He has found Robby Anderson twice in two weeks for big gains on blown coverages. Overall, he's an upgrade from Kyle Allen and Bad Cam.

Problem is, Teddy has made some really bad throws. Like, really bad. Against Tampa, he overthrow CMC on a screen by about 5 feet for an INT. Later in the 4th quarter and down by 7, he threw way behind DJ Moore and got picked, too.

Oh, and the Panthers O-line is wretched this year (three new players and a second-string LG). That's not helping.

But Teddy's not the reason for Carolina's 0-2 start -- more like the fifth or sixth reason. Defense in general, weak O-line pass blocking, complete lack of pass rush and play-calling would rank ahead of Teddy at this point.

play-calling

Yes. They probably would have won week 1 if they had given McCaffrey the ball on 4th and 1 under 2 minutes at midfield, instead of getting cute and handing off to the fullback, what's his name.

Steve Not McCaffery.

Gruden and Payton fined for not wearing masks. You'd think someone at halftime would've told them what just happened to the coaches from Sunday.

Here is today's damning Drew Brees stat:

After two games, Brees has 4.9 intended air yards per attempt, 3.6 air yards per completion and 2.4 air yards per attempt.

I believe it. I don't think a single pass in this travels over 10 yards.

I saw one!

But only one.

Damn.

Good clip about his rookie season.

Only started 12 of 14 games, yet scored 20 TDs from scrimmage on just 195 touches. Added 2 more TDs on a punt and kick return for 22 on the season. He also threw one TD pass.

Obligatory Stele comment. He was also a Jayhawk and was known as the Kansas Comet. He was also cool enough to have Billy Dee Williams play him on film.

Tyrod Taylor had a punctured lung. Punctured by the team doctor.

Turns out it was Justin Herbert's dad dressed up like a doctor.
