Nintendo Switch Catch-All 2.0

Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is on Switch, and I'd recommend it highly.
It's not even attempting to be historically accurate (which I consider a plus), and has all the characters from Samurai and Dynasty, plus their guest characters.

But it's a bunch of characters I don't care about, and as it turns out, in a Warriors game that makes or breaks my interest.

Game Xplain doing one of their long, speculative dives into a trailer. Lots of spoilers for BotW, but otherwise it's fascinating to see so many details they've pulled out of the trailer.

Well, they got me. I preordered 3D Allstars. I knew it would be $60 but I don’t feel like the direct made very clear how much work they’ve done on the games. I was hoping to hear more about that. Still, if I don’t feel like keeping it, I know it won’t lose it’s value in a couple months.

Or not. I decided to cancel my preorder. I could have kept it and sold it, but I don't want to be a part of the scalping (people are already paying $75-100 on eBay). The forced exclusivity thing was bothering me and I kept feeling like the price was too high for me, for the amount of work that seems to have gone into the collection.

Direct Mini (Partner Showcase) tomorrow.

Seems they're settling on some sort of bi-weekly schedule.

I expect everything worth it to be released in 2021.

Even though No More Heroes 3 was already delayed, I'm crossing fingers to see more about it in the Partner Direct. But very loosely crossing them.

Nintendo has done plenty of backwards compatibility at times, which I appreciate, but I will say that if they had the commitment to it that Xbox does, I'd feel a lot better about this collection. I've got Mario 64 on N64 and WiiU. I've got Galaxy 1 on WiiU. I would love to buy this collection to play Sunshine for the first time, but I don't know that I'd play either of the others before we've moved on to the next console.

Y'all missed the big announcement yesterday:

September 23!

New Switch Monster Hunter? Yes please. Monster Hunter Rise.

They are masters of the tiny announcement announcement.

Rune Factory 5 in 2021. Good to see an update on that one.

Yeah, I was hoping they were about to say it was shadow dropping since it was supposed to be a 2020 game, but I'll have to be content with Hades dropping today.

When the trailer started, I was first thinking that it was dropping next month or something, and wondering where I was going to squeeze it in.

And now that I think about it, seemly like it's pretty unlikely that Bravely Default 2 is still going to hit this year, either. So 2021 might be a big year for the Switch.

Wait Hades is out? I started and finished Pyre last month so I'm ready for their next game.

Yeah, looks like today for Switch (hoping this means 1.0 and leaving Early Access on PC; was waiting on that to return to it).

Easily among my favorite games I played this year, and feels like it gives me just those small little nuggets of stories between each run that I really enjoy.

A Monster Hunter only Nintendo Direct was also released. Haven't watched it yet, but assuming it has greater details on Rise and Stories 2.

Supposedly Ori runs at 60 fps in both handheld and docked. Moon Studios is something else with graphics. Wow.

Oh wow, missed this. I saw something saying they'd have more info at TGS, but didn't know this existed!

Hades – Launch Trailer – Nintendo Switch

Saw a tweet this morning about Hades and almost hurt my finger punching the buy button.

eShop cards at newegg, $35 for $32 with promo code EMCDRGN37.

Got one this morning, probably use it on Hades. Limit 2. Thinking about getting another.

Wish I had looked here a few minutes before I just went ahead bought Ori and the Will of the Wisps, too, lol.

I really should have posted when I bought it, sorry. Newegg is reputable, there wasn't any risk. I waited until after lunch when I got my email confirmation.

Just got two of those, will use them on a Mario remake, undecided which.

Can't say I care about Stories 2, but I'm stupidly excited for Rise...

A new Hyrule Warriors and a new Monster Hunter Stories. I'm sorry for the rest of you that Nintendo seems to have found my Christmas list.

All good. The opening 10 mins of Ori is easily worth the $3.00

I got slightly emotional during the intro, or I got something in my eyes.

Nice! The only way they could have done a better job with the port is if they'd cut that sequence entirely.

It's a brilliant game. I love it dearly. I'm still tempted to double-dip so I'll still own it if I should unsub from Game Pass. But that particular sequence is infuriating.

If you did all the "missions" to get the free Mario Pin set, codes were released 2 days ago and it immediately sold out. But I looked again today and was able to redeem my code and place my order. It was $5 shipping. So if you're interested or missed out, look again ASAP.
