2020 NBA Catch-All: Offseason

Whoa. 99-99

12-1 run to close the game by the Heat.

Well, 25 seconds left. But it's over.

WOW.

Wow.

Miami's gonna sweep em'. Holy sh*t.

Wow. I never understood why people thought the Bucks were a clear favorite in the East, but even I didn't expect them to go down 0-3 in the second round.

WTF Lakers?

People don't watch all the games of teams like Milwaukee this year (or any year). I have. This is not the Bucks team pre-Covid. S#!t happens I guess. Miami has always been a tough matchup, but this is not how they have played. Dissappointing.

Isn’t this the same thing that happened last playoffs, though? Giannis is figured out and the team becomes easily defended.

The optics of a second round sweep (tbd) to a 5 seed vs. a 6 game loss in the conference finals to the eventual champions are different though. Unless Miami beats them and goes on to win the ring.

You really want to compare this Heat team to the Toronto Kawhi team defensively? Fine. Quote ESPN with the figured out stuff. You don't think every team in the NBA has been building the wall? There are a small number of teams that have been consistantly effective against Giannis (25 years old). The Heat have always been. But not to this level. Not changing rotations has been consistant and that is frustrating. Up 12, pressing control and no sign of G or Middleton (and Lopez for that matter). Midds and GA were top 3 in the league in minutes played for a season under the joke of a coach of Kidd. They shouldn't do that, but there is the capacity to play them 40.

Not mad at you, it is just frustrating as a fan of a team that everyone ignores and has been bad most of my life and has a legit shot. More games to go. Glad I am almost 50 rather than my 20 someting self (most of the time). I give a lot fewer craps now about my sports teams than I did then.

I’m pulling for the Bucks, but it seems like there are a few teams where a lot of the offense is predicated on an awesome player going ISO. The same thing happens to the Jazz, it feels like. The offense devolves into one player going ISO and if the opponent defends well there doesn’t seem to be a plan B.

7 games gives the opponent lots of chances to scheme as well.

You never know. The Heat are playing really well. And Jimmy Butler was arguably a big reason the Sixers knocked on the door last year.

Yeah I didnt mean to imply Miami couldn’t do it. That would be thrilling and I don’t think anything is off the table this season. Except probably the Nuggets beating the Clippers lol.

I love this no travel schedule. Games every night until the finals!

Yeah it’s dope for the TV audience.

Giannis is listed as questionable for game 4.

Celtics just couldn't hit 3s tonight.

Boy, the clockwork nature of the Heat defense is really stifling. Every single time Giannis drives the lane, 1-2 help defenders appear to mess with him. It’s impressive.

Similar strategy to the Raptors last year. Form a wall so he can’t drive and force the Bucks to rely on secondary scoring.

Free basketball!

Bucks hold off elimination but Giannis is now out after reinjuring his ankle.

I mean, they won without him. XD

25-11 Boston after 1.

Ties lowest point total for any playoff quarter. Wow.

And game 5 is pretty critical when series are tied 2-2.

As much as I find the Rockets distasteful, PJ Tucker is becoming a favorite of mine. There’s something fun about a 6’5” guy who beats the hell out of everyone inside and shoots corner threes and does nothing else.

Thurs night game is scheduled at 7. Wow.

Every playoffs should be in the bubble on east coast time. So much better for TV. No games after midnight.

Kemba hammered on game-winning layup, no call.

Jump ball on the rebound, and they give Toronto the timeout?

Whoa...

Double OT!

There were a lot of missed or bad calls and I’m just glad they went the Raptors way.

Lowry continues to be an absolute icon. Playoff Powell is hilarious to me. He has these playoff games, consistently, since entering the league where he’s just extremely good. Shame Siakam can’t find his game.

No idea how game 7 is going to go. Celtics has two blowouts and the Raptors have had to scratch and claw every win. Even if they lose I hope they “go done with a fight”*.

*figuratively

Yeah the end and the two overtimes were pretty good with some controversial calls (or non-calls) on both sides. These two teams are pretty evenly matched. I hope game 7 is good!

Also, these commercials for LG fridges are so ridiculous. "Buy our fridge because it makes circular ice". Really? People are going to pick their appliance because of that?

My wife tries to sell me on $3500+ fridges every time we are in a hardware store -.-

My father-in-law and I were just talking about how frustrating it is that ice machine tech hasn't gotten any better in 30 years and our in-door machines are constantly jamming. We both agreed (not having seen these ads) that circular ice "cubes" would solve the dispenser problems.

I just want my fridge icemaker to melt old ice and make new ice so I don't get old ice.
