Clearly you've never experienced the sheer erotic power of garion in overalls. Hubba hubba.

I've had a pair in my closet since 2013. It's the moment I've been waiting for!

It seems squarely aimed at the upper-middle class YouTube toy review influencer set. Who has a huge, open space in their house with hardwood floor to drive an RC car around on? I'm sure it'll look like a lot of fun on Ryan's World or whatever, but it seems completely impractical in my household.

Funny, exactly what my wife said, though she simply called those folks "rich".

We have the room at our new house, but everything is carpeted......... Really need to see them perform on carpet.

In addition to everything else, the live MK looked slow AF.

200cc or GTFO!!!

Maybe it is only a "bundle" for a limited time then the games will be sold separately. That would work for me since I'm only interested in Galaxy anyways.

I happen to be selling my house, which is a converted church, with an open living space of 2500 square feet of hardwood, if you’re interested in moving to Massachusetts

If we were staying it would be perfect for me.

I'm sure folks will be tearing the RCs down and putting the cameras on something else. There's gotta be a way and I'm sure folks will figure it out and then we'll all be playing true Mario Kart like god intended.

Well, they got me. I preordered 3D Allstars. I knew it would be $60 but I don’t feel like the direct made very clear how much work they’ve done on the games. I was hoping to hear more about that. Still, if I don’t feel like keeping it, I know it won’t lose it’s value in a couple months.

I have a Wii U so I haven’t double dipped on any of the rereleases but I will probably make 3D World an exception to that and play it a third time.

I would have been in for sure if Galaxy 2 was on there since I've never played it. As it is, I dunno. Galaxy is great, but Mario 64 isn't. I like Sunshine more than most people -- or at least my memories of it are positive -- but I don't know that I really have any desire to play it again. I think I'll ask my daughter if she's interested and let that determine whether or not I buy it.

I’m even more skeptical of the technical performance. The Switch can’t even get a good signal from a joycon if a little kid is between it and the dock eight feet away so I’m calling BS that any setup in a real house would work as well as shown on the teaser video unless the course is deliberately set up very very small and near to the system as in the video. If I wanted it to loop around the room-dividing wall 20-30 feet from the dock, I’d probably need to invent some kind of repeater since both distance and shielding should be too much for whatever wireless tech they use, especially given it’s transmitting live video.

Finally, what is the relationship between number of cars and number of Switches....and Nintendo’s awful multi-system policies? Looks like one Switch can handle two cars if the view is split-screen docked? But better if there are two Switches at home so each can control one car? Even in a one-Switch household I’m aware of how not-nice multiple Switches are dealing with permissions and things.

I believe that's the weak antenna performance of the Joycon and not the Switch itself. Folks have been modding fixes for that since day 1 basically.

So, my guess is the signal from the RC cars will be stronger than the Joycon signal considering it appears the cars will be used farther away.

I am skeptical too as I'm much more interested in hands on stuff related to them, but I think there's a chance these cars work better than the Joycons.

Do we know whether the cars are even using the same wireless protocol as the joycons? I wouldn't be surprised to find they're running over wifi instead.

I came all this way just to make a joke about player 3 having to use one gray Joycon and a Roomba...

I think they should have went a different way with this. Back in the 90s mini rc cars were all the rage. They were only about 2 inches so didn't require much space. I still have a few of them. The idea they have is cool but it takes up to much space. Even if a person has the space they probably wont be able to have it out all the time, so it will become to much work for a quick game.

Another then they could have done was made it more for outside play by making the cars outdoor rc cars. Or have a option to not play in the real world. It would be cool to play in Mario's house, Peach's castle, Luigi's mansion and so on. I mean play in real environments made to look like those places.

I still have original copies of Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy. That collection is tempting, mind you, for ease of access on our 49" 4K television (in the living room).

The 3D World port is something I know a lot of folks were down for. I'm happy for you all! I'd probably rather play 64 or Sunshine. I bounced off it hard. Perhaps I should give it another chance.

I had the same reaction. I was impressed with the idea. I think my nephews and niece would be interested. Those karts, though, they are not fitting around our households. Something a scale or two up from a mini rc car would be much better, for us, and still look awesome.

Given my nephews and nieces have a lot of fun with surprisingly huge RC cars, I feel like this makes sense from a "It would make a neat Christmas present" angle. But to keep? Ehh, where do you even store the cars? My buddy Steve actually has a room or two that would work well for it, but whether their four and six year-old wouldn't destroy the cars themselves is a separate matter.

The real downside is the Switch screen doesn't do too well in outdoor environments, and I can see driveways or culdesacs in housing developments being a good location for 'em as well. Just the Switch itself isn't the best for outdoor playing.

The ONLY thing I AM interested in IS THE bowser addon or extra levels for 3D world... will have have buy the game agian, just for that. Galaxy, sunshine look ugly IMO.

I'll go on record saying I'm happy seeing all of this, but I'll likely not spend a penny on any of it. I have ready access to all of it (every system is hooked up) so just having it in one place is not enough to entice me.

If I wan't completely burned out on 3D World I'd be interested in the new content. But after playing my fill on my own, a bit with the wife, and then we played through with our 2 boys, and the oldest couldn't stop himself from running ahead all of the time, ruining the fun for the youngest a lot, I'm just done for a good long time.

Never played anything in the 3D world collection so I’m keen to pick it up.

Any reason that 64 isn’t widescreen? That would have been a nice upgrade.

I thought they said it was updated to the 16:9 ratio?

Sunshine will be.

Wow, I went back and watched that part of the direct again. They really made it seem like they were making them both widescreen, then they just have that tiny text “only for Mario Sunshine” at the bottom.

I’m a bit disappointed, I think Mario 64 deserves better as the iconic first 3D Mario and launch game for the N64.

I am in the same boat. I dont know if I want to go through 3D world all over again... We have all the stars, stickers etc. And my Son is now 5.... but my 2.8 year old Daughter will start playing soon... oohh the nightmares

Super disappointing that Galaxy 2 wasn't in the All stars 3D collection. Its a pass for me, even though I only played through the orginal Galaxy about 15% back in the day. If they sold Galaxy separately for a decent price I'd be on board.

I played a good chunk of Mario Sunshine on the Gamecube, which was unique & enjoyable. I think Mario 64 would feel a bit dated now.

The Super Mario 3D World port I'll probably pick up even though it didn't really grab me playing with RnRClown back on the Wii U. Although I'll not be paying £50 for it. Maybe that rules it out for about 4 years until they bring their classic games down in price like the 'Nintendo Select' collection on the Wii U (if that even happens).

Yeah I'd rather spend $60 on a Galaxy 2-pack for Switch than the 3 games they are selling.

I'll be interested to see how camera controls work in 64. Just mapping the old-and-busted controls to an analog stick would be kinda bad; I'm hoping that they modernize that aspect of the game with full camera control.

I am still a bit annoyed that they keep just throwing old games at us on the Switch.

I wasn't expecting a full remaster treatment, but something more than the bare minimum would have been nice, especially when modders have it looking like this.

No Galaxy 2 makes that bundle a pass from me. I'll probably buy Galaxy 1 if they release it separately for $30 or less. I hope Nintendo has some kind of big surprise planned for the next couple months because my Switch has gone almost completely unused this year.

Is this the base version of Mario 64 or does it include the extra playable characters from the DS release?

Vargen wrote:

I saw someone on Twitter say it was the base version.

I showed my kids that Direct, reminded them I've played all the way through 3D World with both of them (so twice), and then said "We're gonna buy this and play all the way through it together."

They cheered.

Seriously, 3D World doubters, do NOT miss this amazing game. It's the best 2D Mario and the best 3D Mario ever made. What does that even mean? Buy it and find out! This game is pure joy!

Also, I skipped Sunshine back in the day, because of my Mario 64 hangover (I hated it). Guess I'm gonna pick this up for that, even though I have 64 and Galaxy playable on the WiiU.
