Diablo III Catch-All 2.0

I haven't done the gold streak one but with boon of the hoarder and the cow level it should be easily done. I guess you can also acquire 43 bounty caches and open them all at once without having a pet equipped. (it will prematurely start the gold collection and can disrupt the streak)

Would the gold streak be considered the entire level, or only when you pick it up? Because that seems like it would be difficult to leave it all until everything is dead.

I assumed Speed Demon was the only one I had a shot at. I have completed the 350 kill and the 45/no set conquests. Cow Level I think I could manage, depending on how the gold streak is counted.

Gold streak is relatively easy. You can get it randomly during normal rifting these days, but with a build/gear for it, it becomes much easier.

One area that is good for it (other than cow lvl which you cant just run repeatedly) is Ruins of Corvus in act 5. Kill stuff, and pick up gold relatively slowly, but consistently. Always try to leave some gold around, so you have a path back, if you run into a dead end for example,. So the streak does not end. Otherwise, just a bunch of gold find, boon of the horder, and as many movement skills/gear as you can manage.
Might take a few tries, but it definitely is one of the easier challenges. 2min Rift is much more dependent on having the right class/build, or doing it in a group.

One tip I found for the gold streak and path of corvus is to run through the level killing as little as possible. Once you get a decent amount in, run back killing everything and all of the scorpions that spawned. You want to be at the highest torment level where you can still one shot trash mobs.

But seriously the easiest for me is the GR 45 with no set pieces. There are so many lod builds for every class that can do this with minimal gear grinding. If you find the gold streak or 2 minute rift frustrating, do that one on hard core as it counts as a separate conquest.

Also, apparently you can do the 350 kill and gold streak at the same time. Just be sure to use boon of the hoarder and a flawless royal emerald in your helm. (+gold find)

Cow level with a lvl 50 boon of hoarder. I get to 100mil and quit. It is that easy. Do it solo. Shared monsters share gold but I have found it is harder because of fewer kills for you.

Just have to find a Bovine Bardiche, I guess. I tried a few runs of Corvus and Fields of Misery with Goldskin, band of Avarice, Boon of the Hoarder, 50 paragon points in Gold Find, and Leoric's crown with the highest level gem.
Highest streak I got was 18 million, and that was with the benefit of a treasure goblin that dropped in the middle of it all.

Edit: what would be the effect of clearing the level without gold assist items, then opening all the chests WITH gold assist items equipped?

You need gold find on as much gear as you can (without sacrificing dmg to the point where things don’t die fast).
Can’t remember it, but I think somewhere around 10000-20000% gold find (in the stat tab) is reasonable to get.

The “armor from gold“ belt and various amulets are also good sources for GF.

Isn’t band of avarice the ring that auto collects gold in a radius? Probably shouldn’t use that. Seems like it will make it a lot harder to not run out of gold to pick up while moving.

Yep. No pet, either.

but is gold content dependent on the gear I have on entering the level, or upon opening the chest? It does seem wise to do without a pet and without increasing pickup radius in order to prolong the streak.

Another tip to get bovine bardiche. Make a crusader level 1 alt and use the cube to upgrade polearms. Crusader is the class apparently with the best odds for crafting the bardiche. (I've seen a 40% success rate floating around)

That is quite clever.

When killing the monster/opening the chest. By far the most gold will be from monsters though.

I have a bovine you can have/use. I will join your game and open the portal and then bail. Make sure you can clear t16 easily and have boon of hoarder leveled. Pet helps here unlike other runs. Never stop moving/killing until you get the streak.

Forgot to say....I am CST time zone. Will do my best to hook up with you to open portal.

I might make one more push to finish the season this weekend. Lost interested with a few cheevs left.

Me too. I got one conquest done. I'm gearing a level 70 necro for the rathma set dungeon mastery.
I have a hard core wizard for that conquest. (also I was asleep at the wheel coming back the to the new season and lost my prior HC wiz) Hitting tab instead of 1 is a big oops in hard core

Thank you very much for the offer. I greatly appreciate it. I took fangblackbone's advice and used a crusader to upgrade a polearm, got 3 bardiches in a row.

But I will take your advice. I am not in a state to clear T16 easily. I can do it, but barely. I'll have to respec most of the gear on my Poison Scythe necro.

I COULD use some stone gauntlets, if anyone has an extra pair taking up space.....?

You can't transfer items unless you were both present at the drop, right?

Robear is correct. They are fairly common though. You could upgrade from a rare or run maps with someone and hope for a drop. With double bounty rewards right now the rare upgrade may be easier.

Isn't the upgrade very unlikely for a necro? Or are you talking about a barb doing the upgrade?

Never tried for them using a necro. Might have to cube them?

I've gotten quite a few stone gauntlets on my wizard. Dunno why other than random Blizz RNG that a necro couldn't get them.

Has anyone tried running through like half of Path of Corvus and not killing anything to spawn all the scorpion things and then back tracking to get the gold conquest?

That's how I always do it. Or rather, depending on spec I run it normally but slowly, stringing out the regular mobs and the swarmy things, and usually it takes 1-2 tries.

That is what I used to do until I read about the cow level version. Have only done cows last couple of times.

Well that didn't go great.
My Poison Scythe necro wasn't up to the task of a T16 Not the Cow level. I tried it once last night and got my ass handed to me, dying four times. I tried it at T15 and might have done better had I been able to kill faster. I think I'll need a few more ancients for my LOD build before I can manage this. I couldn't tell if a pet was hurting me or helping me, but it didn't seem to collect gold in a particularly efficient manner.

Pet does not hurt you doing that. Only time it is detrimental is when you do the bounty version of the gold run. Gotta turn off the pet for that, it will break your streak.

Making some progress.
Sorc can do GR85 and is missing a lot of ancient upgrades. Plus I have yet to do any augments.
My HC sorc cleared GR45 for the conquest so I only need one more.
My necro needs a few more rathma pieces to do the set dungeon mastery.
And that is pretty much it. Oh I need to do the T13 rift in less than 4 minutes too.

Took some time off. I over reached an lost a prior 70 HC wizard while trying to do the fright portal That combined with persistent set dungeon struggles killed my enthusiasm. (tried the shadow DH dungeon to much frustration)
But then came back with a fervor. I leveled up a new hydra wiz in record time. Then I shifted back to GR progression on my normal hydra wiz. I got some big bursts of knocking down season achievements as well as leveling gems (2@70, 1@62 now)

And now it is just the set dungeon and 12 or so legendaries extracted and I am done
Leveled up the gems to 70. Used one of them to augment my weapon, easy peasy.

Managed to finish the season with the Avarice Conquest. I had much better results running Ruins of Corvus rather than Cow Level. I was getting runs of no higher than 20M on the latter before the groups got too spread out. In Corvus I had several near misses in the 40M range before dropping the streak. Finally got a better map that let me get more of the scorpion things (whose insides are apparently made of gold). It took Goldskin, Goldwrap, Band of Avarice, an emerald in Leoric's crown, and full Paragon Gold Find, but it worked!

Thanks for the suggestions and offers of help.

You didn't use boon of the hoarder gem? That might have made the difference but kudos to you anyways!

Cow level is all about how fast you can go group to group and kill. Let you pet grab gold and keep the streak going. Either way, congrats on getting it done.

fangblackbone wrote:

AND boon of the hoarder.

It really is a ridiculous amount of gold. Ultimately I think I just couldn't kill fast enough, though I could survive. I'd get to the new group in Not the Cow Level and lose a few seconds killing the first group, and the streak could drop. In Ruins of Corvus Bone Armor would take out a group of scorpions right away.

Glad to have finished my first season, though!
