With some Coriolanus-quality torture porn.

It's Black Adder without the Adder.

Hating Game of Thrones is the new hipster craze.

New? Hating on Game of Thrones has been part of the Game of Thrones fandom since the beginning.

Right after the pilot.

It’s the Friends prequel.

I figured you would have been into the latest season. They went far more CW with storytelling. More relationships, faster moving storylines, a characters evolving via dialogue dumps instead of showing.

They could not have taken more cues from The 100.

Damn! "I figured you'd like it since it's more like The CW" is one of the harshest things I've ever seen on this site.

I was getting immensely bored with TWD but stuck around out of curiosity to see if it got better, but when they kept Chris Hardwick on for Talking Dead I bailed for good.

So, wait, it's good now because it adopted some trashy ass CW tropes? I mean, I've been saying all along that a zombie show that's barely spackled over conservative porn should really embrace that it's trash and stop fronting that it's got any substance, so hearing they actually did so is validating.

Arise thread!

The greatest pop song song in American history is the single version of "i" by Kendrick Lamar. I listen to this song everyday, sometimes dozens of times, repeating it over and over as I drive to work.

This is probably only the third time I’ve heard this single version. I like this so much more. The album version relies way to much on the Who’s That Lady guitar loop. Plus the album version is a mock live performance which is theatrically interrupted by a massive fight in the audience. It’s kind of an awkward listen.

By the sound of this version I’m guessing Thundercat is responsible for a great deal of the music and Who’s That Lady is used minimally which really improves the song.

I’m waiting with baited breath for Kendrick’s next proper solo album. He’s truly the greatest rapper alive. Am I wrong for not liking the Black Panther Soundtrack?

-

My hot take: Rapsody is the second greatest rapper alive.

-

I like the Black Panther soundtrack, but I agree that it doesn't count as a proper Kendrick album. And, yeah, I've been wondering when a new album from him will come.

Also, spot on in regards to the album version. There is something I like about that version, artistically, but it doesn't work as pop song. What I do like is that he felt and had the freedom to change the song up so much. I think the live version he did on SNL was pretty great, though.

I had not heard Rapsody, but, damn, those videos were outstanding.

I won't necessarily put her on the list of greatest rappers, but I really love listening to Noname.

The "Etch-a-Sketch" approach to forums.

From my experience, GWJ is a bit unusual for having monolithic catch-all threads that run for years and years. Also the weird stigma some people feel around creating new threads for things.

This last point is exactly what I was thinking about, actually. I looked back at the oldest threads and people were making new ones every couple of hours (it seems like). That might be true of forums in general, but nowadays I think people lump their comments into the catch-all threads because they probably think their comment doesn't warrant a whole new thread. However I think that also results in less depth of discussion on what could be interesting topics.

The Star Wars misc. catch-all thread IS NOT in the D&D section!!

Hot take: FTL is space Oregon Trail.

Oregon Trail predates Rogue, so while Rogue can keep "roguelikes" for the more pure and hardcore dungeon crawlers, "roguelites" like FTL should instead be "traillikes".

Agreed. The term "video game" is hereby replaced with "spacewarlike".

But SpaceWar was never formally approved by Congress, so technically it should be spacepoliceactionlike.
