Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr (Catch All)

Yeah, I've never messed with range circles. Seems like less fun but to each their own. If my flamer does not reach the target, I expect to suffer for my incompetence.

Hello GWJ friends.
I see this game is on sale for $9.99 on Xbox. I looked at the reviews and most were poor. I imagine there have been some significant patches since release. Anyone willing to do a soft sell on what makes this a good game? Based on the number of posts, I am assuming people like this game.

Thank you,
Chad

Is the GWJ Cabal still active? I applied if anyone is still managing it.

Chokka, does Diablo with guns sound like fun? Cool. This is Diablo with guns!

It's still active. I think Veloxi is running it?

I am, yeah, we have some more room now I believe.

Alright we had two new applicants approved. I also kicked anyone who'd not been on for over 200 days, so we have some room if any new players wanna join on PC.

I meant to ask, does anyone know who "Lawng Dawng" is? I saw them in the applicant list, but I don't think they're someone from the forums.

Chooka, if you read reviews, make sure they are reviewing the 2.0 version of the game. It changed SIGNIFICANTLY for the better. Like, remember when Diablo 3 was released and a lot of people hated it and then they overhauled it and added a bunch of cool new stuff and then people loved it again?

It's kind of like that.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun

Prophecy/2.0 is available on console, but unfortunately they're still working on the current "Season of the Inferno" update for consoles, but it should be out any day now.

Ok, I picked it up with all the "fixin's". I'll get to this one eventually but I've had my on a good deal for a while.

Update today. Bug fixes, new features, and new content!

Also I like how, if you bought the complete collection, you just get it. That's fairly cool.

How do you craft relic+ items. I cant find anything that explains how to.

You have to get the blueprints. Relic blueprints sometimes show up in the store, but they also drop. Archeotech (red) blueprints only drop, AFAIK, and only on high level missions (70-80+). Archeotech stuff can maybe drop in lower level missions, but my highest character is 60, and I have seen a grand total of one in 260 hours of playing, so...

I got my first Archeotech item at around... 55? 52? Somewhere in there. It was on a run where I had used Tarot cards to up the chances of rare drops. I was pretty chuffed.

I should add that I got some pretty good advice in this Reddit thread I started. Bottom line, there are specific activities that drop A LOT of relics, but most are level 70-80+ and require finishing the story. And don’t bother crafting them unless you have a glut of materials and money. You can often get better results by using purple drops with forge slots and crafting custom psalm doctrines or level 4 shards for the slots. Obviously reroll any stats that are completely useless, but do not waste money modifying items until you are building a specific end game set.

Another tip I just remembered: do low level random Tarot missions configured for high sale value drops, zip through them and use the money to buy random relic item boxes.

I'm enjoying the stories. I don't want them to end! Some really lore-rich writing in there.

Wow, lot of great info in that thread Ken, thanks for sharing! I'm gonna dive back in today and do some of that stuff!

I got a level 4 Archeotech item, so at this point it is pretty useless. Should I be holding on to it or just salvaging it? Should I be using my fate on the tech tree right now, or should I wait?

Hold on to it until you are able to use it, or comfortable tearing it down. They are rare enough that you want to be really sure.

What are folks control preferences on PC? M&K has the camera rotation issue and it feels awkward to use the 1 & 2 keys for your 3rd and 4th attacks, particularly if duel wielding since those are more "normal" attacks, not like one-time specials.

With a controller, the camera rotation is solved, but I can't find an easy "shift-hold" button as a ranged character. Clicking right stick sets target lock, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. Also the default controls are very hard to get used to... your first and second attack keys are A and Right Trigger?

If I had to choose the lesser of two evils it would be the controller, but it still doesn't feel great. Best case would be if I could map the rotate camera left/right to the mousewheel tilt, then I would switch back to M&K and just live with weird buttons for attack 3 and 4, but I can't seem to remap to those presses.

I'm on mouse and keyboard, with some tweaks as I added the 1 and 2 keys to the side buttons on the mouse, which helps a great deal. I might switch camera rotation to some keys because I'm not happy with it on the middle mouse button.

Yea you can map everything to how you like it on M/K.

Unfortunately everything other than the left/right mousewheel tilt. In a clicky game like this I don't want to to press the keyboard to fix camera problems while in combat. I'll mess with it some more.. could be I missed something.

I am M+K here and I use the 1/2 keys but I usually try to find weapons that the vast majority of the time I just use the first two attacks.

I try to line up the camera before combat and don't mess with very often during.

Yeah I change camera angles going in new directions, but only change cameras between combat bouts.

The only thing I use the keyboard for is camera and dodge, everything else is mapped to the mouse.

If you have the Prophecy expansion, and you progress the Prophecy campaign to the point where you unlock the Ordos vendors, and you get the Ordo Hereticus vendor's reputation up to 100, he'll have three random Archeotech Relic blueprints for sale each day. Above 20 rep he starts selling 3 regular Relic blueprints. They cost 10/5 Fate in addition to credits. The Ordo Xenos vendor sells random Relics and Archeotech Relics at 20/100 rep, and the Ordo Malleus vendor sells Archeotech Shards and Psalm-Codes at 20/100 rep. 300 rep (the max) is a 10% damage bonus appropriate to their faction. I think the Xenos and Hereticus vendors are the most useful in the game.

Note that because a particular item will have multiple unique Archeotech enchants, each enchant is considered a different blueprint, and there's no way to tell which one you're buying. But the game will tell you (ALREADY KNOWN) in the tooltip when you hover over it. So I've got a whole collection of every kind of Archeotech Blueprint for Power Sword, Assault Armor, Suppression Shield, not to mention Signum, Implants, Purity Seal, Belt Item, and Inoculator. The crafting menu will tell you the specific enchant when you're crafting though, so it's not a problem there.

Ohhh I've not done the Ordos things yet. Their rep doesn't degrade over time does it?

No, it's permanent.

DELIGHTFUL.
