Random thing I love: I recently started streaming some gameplay on YouTube, and I'm getting more people watching these than I have had in years. Even got some upvotes. Very encouraging!
I enjoyed watching you play Space Marine.
Independence Day in real time Twitter
Of course I'll be watching the movie this weekend but this is pretty fun too.
Critical Role returns from their Covid hiatus tonight at 7 pacific.
In that vein of podcasts - the Scrubs podcast "Fake Doctors, Real Friends" is great. It is a laugh-out-loud feel good listen with Zach Braff and Donald Faison just talking like friends and they have other people on the show as guests. It is nice to listen to something happy these days.
I'm enjoying "Fake Doctors, Real Friends" too, but damn they put out episodes fast.
Chicken tenders aren't much of a thing here and I'm a vegetarian so I can't say I love them but was reminded of this thread by this:

Jimi: And the flag was still there. Big deal.
Fired up Relic's original Dawn of War from waaaay back in 2004. Took a bit of fiddling, but I got it working. It turned out I was missing an update somehow. I tried some of the widescreen mods, but they ended up breaking the minimap, so I gave up and played it at 1280x1024.
This is the game that got me into WH40k in the first place. Ah, memories. It's still charming. The gameplay is still solid, too, despite the "high resolution" models looking like Minecraft, and the ridiculously brain-dead pathfinding. Sometimes I wonder if Relic never did figure out pathfinding, and that's why they went with small squads in DOW II.
But the high res textures still look pretty high res, and it still looks pretty good, even zoomed in close.
I was hesitant at first, but I am pleased to report that HBO Max really is quite a bit better than HBO Now was. The addition of DCU, TCM, Ghibli, et. al., along with some more modestly-budgeted original content, makes it a really great deal.
I found PaladinTom's catch-all, but it seems not many know of it. Or maybe not many subscribe. Only a couple bucks more than Netflix, and much, much higher quality overall. I'm pleased I swapped them.

Adventure time too. I think I saw that they have every South Park as well.

Think health care will advance enough for you to make 100? At 58, I'm not so sure.
Hopefully we're not back to using stone tools before then.

Did you post in both love/loathe?

Birthday bro! I turn 40 later this month too.

I doubt it. But in two human generations it might be possible.

"Rich Beef Sausages" sounds like a reference to the Beef and Dairy Network podcast, which is... really hard to explain. But I highly recommend it.
It gets weirder and weirder as it goes along, and it builds up a lot of lore as it goes along, but I highly recommend listening to episode 10 to get a taste of what it's like -- it's an exposé on the dangers of lamb.
If you dig it, go back to the beginning rather than trying to jump in where it's currently at. I assure you it's worth it.
If you drink too much Mt Dew US Brew, that blue stuff, your poop turns blueish green. It's even fun to share by not flushing.
Actual new Far Side comics?!? I never would have imagined.
Hrmph. Taxidermist. Heh.
I remember hearing he was writing again a while back.
Unfortunately, one of the three comics hits just the wrong note, recalling the infamous "Cow Tools" comic. I mean, "Bears eating Cub Scouts" says it all, but... WTF, Gary? Please get an editor... Or at least a Patreon group to bounce this stufff off of before you post it...
(Man, I wish stuff had three fs so I could legit do what I just did...)

I didn't find it funny either, but he was pretty clear in his disclaimer that these comics were just some experimental stuff he threw together while playing around with a new tablet. He even mentions the Cow Tools debacle.
