Video Game Deals Catch-All

If you want more of an actual hands on baseball game than management/coaching sim, Super Mega Baseball 3 is a very good baseball game. Don't let the graphics style fool you, it plays a very realistic game of baseball. The only downside is it doesn't have an MLB license, but the actual gameplay is as close to the real thing as you can get.

I'm not real sure what I'm looking for, but SMB3 isn't it, after watching some videos. I like the idea of realistic action, but not having the license and lackluster franchise mode turns me away.

I'd buy The Show if it were on PC in a heartbeat. RBI 20 doesn't appear to be good from what I read and watched. OOTP scratches the itch of being able to go back and replay some of the years I remember the best, but there's no real action.

I returned OOTP20 and I'm thinking about picking up OOTP21 on PC and The Show '19 on PS4 since it's affordable.

Dude, Super Mega Baseball plays so good. Yes, it looks weird and doesn't have the license, but it's got the gameplay down.

garion knows what he is talking about. There is a demo where you can play out games, but it doesn't have franchise mode. Yo can always buy it, try out franchise mode and return it if it isn't up to snuff.

It manages to feel like baseball in a way that The Show never has for me, and games take closer to 15 minutes instead of 1 hour or more.

On the one hand, I'd like to see what they could do if MLB gave them the opportunity to make the next RBI Baseball game. On the other hand, the lack of MLB/MLBPA licenses means that they can do some interesting stuff -- especially in the franchise mode where they're not tied to the MLB contract structure.

Glad to hear that! I decided to pick it up too.

It sounds like the foregoing could be roughly boiled down to: SMB is better if you care about the game of baseball, and the other titles are better if you care more about the individual, real-life players.

Jets n Guns 2 is great and captures everything we love about the original.
In fact, they have upped their game with boss fights big time.
It is early access though and only has about 5 hours of content. (so far)

I think I want Greedfall.

I don't need it. But it has been on my list for a while. Too bad is it $29.99 and the $5 off is only for $30 and up. I would need some cheap dlc or game to get me over $30.

Oh well maybe next sale.

Yeah, Greedfall might be at the top of what I am looking to get currently. Not an impressive price though (like most things in this sale). Hopefully the third parties will do better.

Not buying anything until I see next months Humble Choice offers though (lessons learned, or not).

Greedfall was a weird beast. The basic gameplay wasn't bad. The story itself was just interesting enough that I didn't want to stop, but the dialog was not the greatest.

The biggest problem was the repetition in the enemies and the environments. There was quite a bit of combat too and it wasn't that interesting due to the lack of variety.

Fine I will buy it.

If you have Twitch Prime, you can get Kunai (among a few others) with your subscription. Pretty decent metroidvania that came out at the beginning of the year and got review bombed by a kid who wanted to make a point on metacritic reviews at the expense of an indie dev.

A few others being:
Grip: Combat Racing
Turok2: Seeds of Evil
Dark Devotion: Your lack of colon disturbs me
Dear Esther: Landmark Edition

Oh nice, I had Dark Devotion on my wish list.

I'm only tempted by Out Of The Park 21...

Looks like OOTP 21 was just added to Game Pass PC today so I’ll give it a try

Problem with the Twitch Prime giveaways is that now I’ve got like a hundred games on there and maybe 5 of them are worth playing (for me). But they’re free so I can’t complain. I just doubt I will ever open it up again because of the time wasted trying to find something to play.

I sometimes get bored and install games I know nothing about from Twitch.

4 games from my wishlist are in that bundle. DAYUM! 96% off.

Yeah, that Slitherine bundle is *killer*. The first three games make it worthwhile, and the others are very good too.

That bundle reminds me of the time back in like '91, newly married, when I got this huge box of about 30 tabletop war games for $10.00 at a garage sale. Few of them had ever been played, pristine boxes with counters still in their sheets, etc.

Sadly, that box was lost in the shuffle of the divorce in '95.
Happily, I got divorced.

I disagree.

I thought it was great. I would definitely get it for $5.

Well, I guess that $5 is worth it to see if you can get passed the first boss. At that point you will know if the game is for you.

Wait, are we talking about Darksiders 3 or Dark Souls 3?
