Mass Effect Series Catch-All

Are we even certain it’s going to be a Mass Effect remaster? I vaguely remember a rumor earlier this year that there might be a KOTOR remake in the works.

Maybe the fact that EA isn’t denying the ME rumor after everyone has run with it is a form of indirect confirmation though?

I meant the actual Mark Meer cosplaying as Kaidan.

Pics or it didn’t happen!!!!!!
I’ve seen Mark Meer cosplay as Shep and I’ve seen Luciano Costa (Kaidan’s face model) cosplay as Kaidan, but never Meer as Kaidan.

It's the hair on the pop that made me think it was him when I was scrolling through. The only character I saw Meer ever cosplay as was the one he played in that fan film which was based on one of the prequel novels.

Well then, you're in luck! He's actually done a couple of cosplays, including Commander Shepard.

After reading MP is still alive(?) for ME3, inloaded up ME3 on Xbox, selected MP and waited and waited. Nothing. Just bad timing in my end?

Maybe. I suspect there are more people coming back to PC, because of the game's recent appearance on Steam.

One thing, if nobody has mentioned it: make sure you have ALL the multiplayer DLC installed. It's all free, but it's an extra manual step after (re-)installing the game. If you played when the game was released and stopped a little while after that, there may have been more DLC released after you stopped playing.

ME3 will only matchmake between players that have the exact same set of multiplayer DLC installed.

Make sure you have the DLC downloaded as well?

Ah! Downloading two MP packs that were not downloaded. Thanks for suggestion. All story dlcs downloaded as well.

That worked. Thank you.
Played a round. Controls a little stiff but still fun.

Finished ME3 today. What an annoying buildup to the end, way too much needless combat. Ending though was interesting. Took the green end.

Pushing through that the first time was tough and it was even tougher on the hardest difficulty. After playing a few hundred hours of multiplayer it became trivial even on insanity

We did do multiplayer to get my war score up, and I did find that enjoyable, even though we died a LOT.

I'm holding my breath until the remake is announced.

If I don't make it, tell my dog I love him.

Hi dog, Commander BadKen says you are his favorite canine monster on the citadel.

You chose... poorly.

I think I chose the green on first try. More because I felt that's what was being nudged towards as the best path, even though I was not so sure. I went with it and then reloaded!

Huh, why is that? It seemed like the ending made to generate the most happiness overall.

I'm just poking fun. The ending that's considered "canon" is the red ending, the destroy ending (and I head canon that the geth and EDI are restored from backups). With enough war assets, it's the one with the credits stinger which establishes that Shepard lives.

Personally, I HATE the synthesis ending. The synthesis ending forces people into something they might not have chosen. It's one thing to have Shepard evolve and control the Reapers, it's another to inflict something on people, adults, children, everyone, something they did not choose for themselves. Flies in the face of Consent 101.

Yeah, I agree. Not to re-litigate the ending debacle again - but like every statement prefaced like that, I'm totally going to - it's a gross violation of the bodily autonomy of every sentient being in the galaxy, siding with the reapers and their assumptions that synthetic/organic conflict is inevitable due to the differences in their bodies, and oh god I am genuinely getting angry again.

It's a superficially clever, but really dumb solution to a non-existent problem that has some really reprehensible real world implications.

It's also 100% the ending every ludic element in the game says is correct.

I really was unsatisfied with all of the ending choices.

Yeah I didn't like any of the choices, but the synthesis one to me seemed the least sucky for everyone.

Refuse was perfect, for...all the reasons I've probably typed out a bunch of times in this thread already and probably had a better handle on back then because the game was fresher in my mind and, quite frankly, my mind was fresher too!

It was perfect just for how Refuse means that Mass Effect was never about Shepard. It was always about Liara.

Yeah, refuse was the best ending. I wish they would have just gone with that instead of giving a meaningless choice. As an added benefit, I'm pretty sure internet tough-guys would have lost their sh*t even more than they did over the original ending.

Ohgodnonotagainmakeitstopmakeitstopmakeitstop

it's a cycle that repeats, just like Mass Effect!

: D

I don't know if it will ever stop, because I don't think a video game series will ever make this much of an impression again.

For some of us, at least!

Yup. Destruction is the only choice if you've been playing as a Paragon as far as I'm concerned.

Just... someone please just hide this thread from LarryC, okay? Please?

edit: BadKen says he's just being silly, so I'll take this out.

I'm gonna say these callouts are all needless, and a bit rude.

Talk about the damn game. Who the f*ck cares.

Look, I'm just being silly. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. I mean, I keep coming back here and posting stuff. If people want to rehash eight year old arguments, have at it!

I only mentioned LarryC because he hilariously regularly shows up in the middle of these things and always has a lot to say! It's like he has Mass Effect radar or something.

I reserve the right to be silly.

I SAID DANG OLE FLASHBANG
