There is the remake of Carmageddon.

And I thought of another one. Robocraft!

Robocraft is shut down, so that's not a viable choice.

Edit: Scratch that, I just got a notice about server maintenance, so I guess its still limping along.

Isn’t World Of Tanks a slower more strategic game? I tried it years ago. I’m hoping for something fast paced and over the top action. I’ll take another look.

I’ve played Wreckfest single player on xCloud. I‘ll look into its multiplayer a bit more.

I’ve heard of Robocraft and Crossout but never tried them. I’ll look closer at those as well.

Carmageddon is a name I haven’t heard in more than a decade. I think I got a demo from PC Gamer back in the late 90s. I wonder how well a remaster would hold up.

Thanks for the suggestions!

For context: I was talking to a few people I play Rocket League with about how it would be a nice change of pace once in a while to have a pure vehicle combat mode in that game but since there isn’t one could we find another game that has that. We saw the Destruction AllStars announcement and were excited until we found out it was PS5 only.

I was surprised to see there hasn’t been a Twisted Metal game in years. Is it a mostly dead genre?

World of tanks isn't slow, but it's not absolute carnage either. It's... Deliberate? Tactical. Takes some thought and lots of practice. But stuff does blow up reeeeeeal good.

There’s always GTA Online. I don’t think you can mount weapons on your cars, but you can shoot pistols and SMGs and crash into each other. And you can have a homie ride shotgun and be your gunman while you focus on driving. It’s very much a sandbox.

Edit: As an example, I was online with a few friends. I asked if anyone knew how to steal the fighter jet. It turned into an impromptu mini game where six of us were riding two to a car and trying to complete the task which involved making a tricky jump to get over the fence of the military base, driving as fast as possible toward the guards near the jets, taking at least a few guards out to buy enough time to exit the car, get in the jet, and get into the air.

The whole time we were just joking around and talking. And beer. There was beer involved. We did that four about three hours. We even had some pubbie join us and he didn’t even try to kill us or ruin our fun.

There's Trailmakers, though it's more about building and racing vehicles. There are plenty of weapons though.

Good idea. I really should try that with my group. Thanks to Epic we all have a copy now too.

I tried Crossout for a bit. It was fun, but it was VERY pay to win, and I didn't feel like sinking any money into it.

I backed Carmageddon: Reincarnation. The last time I tried it, it was essentially unplayable, but that was years ago. I've read that Carmageddon: Max Damage fixed those issues, and I guess I got it automatically, because I see it in my Steam library. I should give it a spin, as I've been wanting a good vehicular combat game as well.

According to the Steam description Carmageddon Max Damage doesn’t have online multiplayer. Did it used to? I thought Gas Guzzlers had multiplayer before as well but Steam shows it as single player only now. Am I misreading that because the text description talks about multiplayer but the properties on Steam only shows single player? Gas Guzzlers looks like it might be fun if multiplayer and its on sale right now.

We are now officially at the point where someone should recommend Bloody Rally Show.

New question:
Does anyone know how to stream the original Beavis and Butthead episodes in the format of how they were originally aired? I’m pretty sure it’s possible to buy the animated sequences without the music videos, but the videos with the characters commentary was my favorite part. I’m sure that hundreds if not thousands of fans made VHS recordings of every episode in their entirety.

It has been recommended but it’s not online multiplayer without “remote play” and I’m not confident in that based on past experience with Steam streaming

Amusingly enough, Veloxi, the game's official cheerleader, did that earlier today in another thread, as it's on sale during the steam sale.

Is toilet paper called bath tissue in Canada as well, or just the US? Why would you ever call it bath tissue?

I’ve never known it to be called bath tissue here in the US.

We call it TP for my bunghole. But we never call it bath tissue. That must be some marketing strategy which assumes that toilet is a distasteful word.

I have seen it referred to as bath tissue, which makes no sense to me. I had assumed it was some kind of "linguistically sanitized" word from some olden days.

I've seen plenty of supermarket signs that call it "bath tissue" but I've never heard anyone say it out loud.

We call it toilet paper. I don't think I've ever heard anyone utter the phrase "bath tissue"

Piracy. The KingTurd Collection.

Other than that, it's not happening. Music video licensing issues.

...I still get my five bucks, though, right Veloxi?

Huh. Maybe it's just the Costco brand?

"Bath tissue" is just the fancy marketing term for it that some stores & brands use. Never heard anyone call it that in conversation.

Oh, whoops. I don't know. I wonder if that's how they fixed the framerate issues, lol.

My group all bought Wreckfest in the current steam sale. Gonna see how that goes.

I also picked up Bloody Rally Show. Even if it ends up not working well over remote play I’m sure I’ll get some single player play out of it. If it wasn’t for the gory pedestrian deaths this would be a fun game to coop with my son but even tho I can turn off the blood I can’t seem to get rid of pedestrian deaths.

Can you do 2 person couch coop online with a different 2 person couch coop group in Overcooked 2 on PS4?

Worried if you do online it makes for 1 player per PS4.

Does LEGO still make relatively inexpensive simple sets? Around 8 steps contains a small main build and a figure. For my daughter's fourth birthday I brought my old LEGO out and each night we've been building one set. In a few weeks I'll run out of the simple small stuff and can't seem to find those kinds of sets on Amazon.ca or the website.

Vector, you mean something like this? LEGO City Barbeque Burn Out. When I'm searching Amazon for smaller LEGO kits like this I tend to just put in a price limit. They have a ton of great small kits that are less than $25 CDN.

Lego.com is a better place to buy than Amazon. Way better selection and they have great images of the sets.

If you think your daughter is too sophisticated for Duplo, there is a line of lego that is meant for little ones like her. I forget what it’s called but they are Lego that are designed for small hands.

One thing that Lego is really good at is creating sets that span every size and price range. I’m sure you will find something you like.

My four year old likes her basic creator set like this one:

I wanted her to have the Lego box and it comes with an ideas book with easy to make things. Great quick ideas or for creating her own builds.
