Nintendo Switch Catch-All 2.0

I have had to do that even for the pro controllers. Maybe the Switch Bluetooth drivers aren't the most stable.

woooow.. really?
That is good to know...

Reboot....was that while docked and only sleep mode was available, or handheld and true shutdown was possible?

I did it UNDOCKED......
PRESSED the power button 10 seconds and restarted the switch

How many full price Switch games do you think you buy in a year?

Never gave that a thougt, but Id say that ever since i got my switch maybe from a range from 3 to 5 ?

I just counted and it seems to be a steady 2-3 as far as $50-$60 releases go. Less than I thought, and not surprisingly most of those are Nintendo-published. A lot of other titles, it just makes too much sense to wait for a sale before I pounce.

I've only bought one game for full price and that was Animal Crossing New Horizons. I don't foresee buying any others for full price, especially since most of what tend to play are non-Nintendo games.

Full price as in $60, or full price as in simply not on sale?

I'll buy maybe two or three $60 games in a year, which is down significantly from my last couple Nintendo consoles. I might get a few indie games not on discount, as well, although I'm wary of pretty much anything that's a port.

I bought ACNH full price, and Tennis Aces for $42.
I will probably just rely on the library again, now that they are processing no-contact pick ups for holds(woot).

Oh, and I can probably count a game or some Nintendo eShop $ around the holidays, too.

"Full price games" are those that cost at least $50 and are not on sale. $10-$48 games are mid-tier/priced games or are on sale.

The only full-price games I have bought since 2009 were Switch versions of Dragon Quest XI and Xenoblade Chronicles and some annoyingly never-discounted Nintendo titles. I only got all of those with the $100-for-two-games vouchers, however, so I hope those come back before Lego Star Wars Palpatine Saga comes out. For every other Switch title, DekuDeals has saved me A LOT of money, or they still sit on my wishlist.

+100 for DekuDeals. Even for just wishlist management it's lightyears beyond the Nintendo eShop. Which is terrible.

Episode I: Racer finally gets a new release date, June 23rd.

Seconded laughing and crying.

Who still uses the Australian eshops :p.

Did anyone know/mention that Apex Legends is coming to Switch in the fall? That’s exciting.

Your tears run anticlockwise down your face.

I'm only interested in other platforms if they add cross-progression, which IIRC they said was a no-go on day one.

This is the Switch thread, so that means you aren’t interested in PC, PS4, Xbox One?

No, I'm already playing it, and don't want to have my Battlepass progress and cosmetics split across a bunch of platforms. That's understandable, right?

Totally. But this is the Switch thread so I figured there might be some people who haven’t played it, like myself. It’s why I didn’t post it in the Apex Legends thread.

Edit: I guess what I’m saying here is if you got people excited to pay again for the same game on the same platform from a different store, maybe someone here would be excited when a game is available on a new platform.

Not often I get at all excited from announcement trailers, but this 2021 release is so Tim Burton-y I have to pray it doesn’t suck.

Me and Charlemagne by the looks. What option do I have? Would I need a VPN and a new account or can I use my existing one or do I have to do something else?

Yeah, the Nintendo stuff is pretty painful to get around so I just end up spending less on my Switch in total. The Australia tax is super infuriating but we're too small and thirsty a market for it to change

You’d need to buy the digital charge codes online. But the 20-40% savings over time make up for the inconvenience. I’ve been buying physical/digital media from the US starting from the PS1. Last PAL release I bought was probably Morrowind on the original Xbox.

Steam etc definitely would require a VPN and they are so ban happy that I wouldn’t bother. My Steam account automatically changed from AU to Japan when I moved here.

For Nintendo, I ended up getting an American 3DS from Play Asia. Definitely a pain in the ass. Switch I think you can just use any region?

Yeah Switch is easy. I have a Japanese eShop account, just used a separate email for the Nintendo account.

Still play all the games on my main US account with Nintendo online.

Did y'all notice that Duke Nukem 3D is now up for pre-order?

For $5 I figured what the heck. That's a good nostalgia price.

Not being snarky, but I’ll probably wait until it’s on sale for a dollar and change.
