Stellaris End-All

Once I've finished with my current TW:WH2:ME campaign (maybe I'll actually win it this time?), it may be time to dive back in. I've not touched Stellaris since the early days and it looks like it's gameplay has changed dramatically.

It's practically a completely different game.

Well, I mean it's still a space 4x, but that's about it.

Yes, gameplay systems have been extensively modified, for the better. Planetary management, resources, race bonus/malus, even some of the ways travel from system to system works have changed. And there is a ton more story at every period of the game.

It's coming along nicely. A good game while waiting for DW2.

It actually hilarious to me how much it changed. I watched one streamer play and complain about a lot of issues. They then proceeded to patch the game almost exactly to their complaints. I also remember how much the community complained about the changes. With hindsight they were definitely wrong. Much better game overall. I will say though it needs dlc to really shine.

That last sentence has the benefit of being both funny and true.

I played about 1.5 games of vanilla Stellaris, then moved on to something else for a couple of years. I've been enjoying the game much more since returning when Federations came out, although that's due to the changes in the base game more than for Federations itself.

Bonus points for Farscape.

Triple bonus points for Leila Kalomi.

This is good too. They make funny game skits.

They're one of my all-time favorite comedy channels on YouTub. Check them out - I think they have somewhere around 150+ sketches.

Anyone want to try out some multiplayer this weekend? I’m thinking of picking up Federations and reinstalling.

Can you play with people who own different expansions? Capt. N00bie McRedshirt here.

I think so but not sure. Would be happy to give it a whirl.

Saw the free weekend. But doubt I have the hours to really get a feel. But it looks interesting.

I could play tomorrow Sunday. I'm in the EST, but I'm very new to Stellaris and might be an annoyance more than anything else. I'm on Discord if that helps.

Nah, that would not be an annoyance. No one has to wait for anyone else to play. And people would be able to explain stuff to you as you go along.

I haven't played since release (when we had that 1st, crazy, GWJ game) but I'd jump in and give it a go tomorrow. I'm EST too. I don't have any of the DLC.

Took advantage of the Steam 50% off sale and caught up on DLC. Meanwhile, my Dwarf campaign in TW:WH2 is going well.

I would be interested too! Let me know what time - I'm PST so afternoon would work better for me if that works for you guys.

I actually got caught up in the threshing machine of Sunday family activities. Will be on around 10:00pm EST tonight to try things out, and generally have a flexible weekly schedule, with the exception of 6:00pm-9:30pm EST times

In the same boat LOL. Will try and hop on around the same time.

Crap I'm sorry guys having to take a late dinner here on the West Coast. Natus want to try to get together Monday night?

Yes, but I can only do that late, around 10:30pm EST. But late works for me almost any night.

Ah, the Undead Khan. Wait, has no one done that before? Our culture is truly going down the drain.

KHAAAAAAN!!!

i'm deep in the endgame of my new playthrough of the might Beldross Union. the last one fell victim to patch sickness...
but the current iteration is currently the leader of the galactic council and the major power in a lvl 5 science federation. They can be #1 in military power within about a year if i need them to be (drew the Yuht and their system ended up with the special shipyard bonus, add in a mega shipyard my ship building system can make 18 ships at once with 6 at +100% build speed). right now i'm stil at #5 or 6.
i've almost got all my megastructures built and i've got just under 60 habitats, 5 worlds and 6 sections of ringworld (10 to go). all of that in a nice and tight 25 systems with 3 entrances, gods i love habitats in the new iteration.
we just finished a major war with the other big federation and i'm buckling up for the crisis (surprised it hasn't shown up yet actually), but i do have a fanatic purifier i've been holding off of one my entrances so i might push things to get rid of them.
go forth and rule the galaxy my comrades!

Paradox announced on the forums: Console Edition gets Humanoids and Apocalypse on the 25th.

Since the current console code is based on PC version 2.2, that probably means that Distant Stars and Megacorp won't be far off, unless they're planning to leap to 2.5 or 2.6 first.

I found a couple of useful items in here.

From SMBC, this seems vaguely familiar.
