Discuss police violence, the victims of police violence (including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor), the Black-led protests against said violence, and related topics.
People I am seriously terrified right now. The National Guard being deployed is a turning point. It's obvious from that PBS video that the highest ranks of government want to deploy the military in US territory. It's obvious from their actions last night that many police departments now view their communities as "the enemy."
What's going to happen when the NSA shuts down the Internet? Because I'm pretty sure they have that capability. They could do it today with the flimsiest of excuses, just a few more lies about US citizen terrorists.

Not gonna happen cos white people need the internet too.

BadKen, be vigilant, be hopeful.
Story for context.
Or if you prefer something a bit more on the nose ( I beg forgiveness in advance)...
This is going to be a sh*t show...
(CNN)President Donald Trump will deliver a statement from the Rose Garden on Monday, the White House said, providing a venue to address growing racial unrest gripping the country. An updated White House scheduled said the President would speak at 6:15 p.m. ET.
and yes... they are late.
Yeah he's just trying to preempt the national news that was going to drag him at 630.
He's reading from a teleprompter, which means it goes the way of whichever person on his staff wrote it.

So Stephen Miller's racist ranting?
Peaceful protesters near the White House are being gassed by DC police.

Can't have those uppity peasants distracting our fearful leader....
So incredibly disgusted at, well, everything....
oh dear.... Listening to Trump talk....
He's gone full on authoritarian.
What a steaming pile of garbage. Both Trump and the speech he just delivered. He closed with, "I'm now going to pay my respects to a very, very, special place."
And just walked off....
That speech is only going to inflame things.

And he actually didn't say or announce anything that hasn't already been said except to make his same vague threats about sending the military.
Hennepin County Medical Examiner says Floyd's death was homicide resulting from being restrained
The medical examiner’s office in Hennepin County, Minnesota, released a report that said George Floyd’s death was a homicide resulting from being restrained.
The statement said the cause of death is “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restrain, and neck compression.”
It further added that Floyd died from experiencing a “cardiopulmonary arrest while being restrained by law enforcement officer(s).”
The American Heart Association described cardiopulmonary arrest as the abrupt loss of heart function.
The medical examiner’s office statement said Floyd had indications of heart disease including “arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease,” as well as fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use.
He gassed peaceful protesters just so he could walk across the street to take pictures at a church.

And there it is... This playbook is so tired...
Yeah, there are dueling autopsies right now. Independent ME autopsy says asphyxiation. I'm not surprised.

Interestingly, strangulation via neck compression is not one of the symptoms of recent methamphetamine use.

I'd be very interested if they tested for drug use in the private autopsy. Data is data, but if there was any shady business going on in fake positives, it would be great to know.

Who's to say. Maybe George Floyd had ADHD.
Even if he was f*cking tweaked to sh*t on meth, the man was still clearly strangled to death on camera and 3 of the 4 murderers are free tonight.
I was trained in riot control and less-than-lethal take downs about 18 years ago by a LT in the MPD SWAT at Camp Ripley.
He taught us a lot of, we would learn later from our Active Duty US Army trainers, illegal take down, restraint, and submission techniques.
And even he was unequivocal that blows, strikes, or holds to the neck and head were not advised as they are likely to kill or seriously and permanently injure a suspect.

I agree, but if someone is faking test results, that is a huge deal.

It’s a dog whistle - that’s all. Blacks = drug addicts. Now they can feel more secure in their pigheaded obstinance about watching a man die on film and hand waving it away while during the next moment, crying about how innocent Target got looted and what did they ever do to deserve this.
It’s not illegal to just be high and a person that is intoxicated requires additional resources and needs if you do arrest them because once you have custody, they’re your godd@mn responsibility. I’m really tired of all this bs, this cognitive dissonance, and this whole victimization culture that the conservatives always push. It wasn’t the cops fault! It’s not our fault! See how the deep state//works/Obama/antifa/people of color/calling Christmas the holidays/etc is arrayed against us?
.
The clue:
“Tonight’s the night, Comrades,”
Only Republicans think "antifa" means "communists".

Interesting thing to post.
Propaganda doesn’t spread itself.
