Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

Okay, I have gone to Secret Stanta levels of digging around these forums to find the original post of this video so I could reply, but I just can't find it. Clearly I've failed. But this is one of the best things I've seen in a long time! So thank you to whomever it was, wherever it was.

Edit: turns out it was from my news feed: from the Verge. So yay! Enjoy!

When the kids were born, my wife and I changed to "Jumpin' Jigawatts." (Misspell on purpose for correct pronunciation.)

Fell in love with oreo latte cokkies. I'm surprised they still exist. They usually stop making the special editions I like after a week of being out.

Yashar Ali is using a new feature to break Twitter, and it’s hilarious.

I agree with points 2 and 5 (gets out phone to start texting)

Breaking Twitter? Seems like it is improving it

A “new feature” where no one replies to your tweets? I’ve had that for years.

I love that Jonman and Fangblackbone are having a fascinating discussion on the feasibility of a real life helicarrier in the Loathe thread. That conversation has literally made my day.

/Thriller popcorn gif.

No fair. I locked myself out of the loathe thread because it was too much of a downer.

Yep, that is why I don't visit that one. Enough negativity in my life without seeking it out...

Double dose of awesome today. My missing cat came home and we closed on our house!!!

Yay! Happy to hear your cat showed up especially!!!

That’s fantastic news Rykin.

Along similar lines. Our cat likes us to be out in the garden with him. He’ll sit just outside the French windows I let him out of (we need a cat flap) and meow until I bring my tea and either walk about with him or sit on the bench at the bottom of the garden. It was lovely early this morning to be in my dressing gown sitting, soaking up the morning sun, listen to birds singing and bees pollinating the poppies nearby, sipping my tea and watching Flynn explore the surrounding area.

This has to become a regular part of my routine. Much better than checking what’s new on YouTube.

Of an evening I leave him to explore alone but occasionally I’ll walk up the front drive with him and stand at the end. He’ll sit next to me and we’ll surveil the close together.

My 19-year-old resumed on-campus classes for her Cosmetology school today and I had to drop her off at the mass transit station so I could turn-around and head to work in the opposite direction. After I dumped her off, I decided to drop by Starbucks to grab a cup o joe. When I got up to the drive-up window to pay and get my coffee, the cashier informed me the lady in front of me had paid for my drink.

It was a small gesture from a total stranger, but in the current times, where everything is just a constant stream of overwhelming negativity, it was a pleasant surprise and gave my cold, jaded heart a nice case of the warm fuzzies.

You should have...

"Maaan, what I look like, a charity case? I don't need your handouts! I'm an ADULT! Please... you can't buy me Starbucks maaan!"

Dude! Could you be more British, please?

I spotted no uses of the word "whilst". -1 Britishness.

I won’t even mention the fact that we’re having Cornish pasties and mushy peas for lunch or that, this afternoon, I shall be typing up the minutes for the local rambling club (a summary of which would be: We aren’t going rambling for a while.)

Yes, please stop saying “nom nom nom.”

Grapefruit Spindrift, ice, and Bourbon.
I am totally hooked on Spindrift without alcohol. Add some spirits and it's downright dangerous.

Note, using Spindrift is key for the actual grapefruit juice, not just essence of grapefruit you will get in "flavored" selzter. Alternatively, you can of course use plain seltzer and mix in your own grapefruit juice.

Yeah, I like Spindrift by itself. Sounds tasty!

I think spindrift has the same problem as san peligrino. They are delicious but as much sugar, carbs and calories as a coke.

I think there's only like 10-20 g in those. SP Aranciata has added sugar, so they do have as much as a coke.

Edit: Meant calories, not grams!

I can't consume grapefruit or the meds I'm on will shut down my liver. Neat, huh?

f*ck that's random and harsh

Me too! Well not my liver specifically, but apparently grapefruit has some sort of vague negative interaction with my meds.
Which sucks, because I love grapefruit

Yeah, me too.

Anybody taking psych meds of just about any type should avoid grapefruit juice altogether. Which is really mean of nature.
