Playstation 5 Catch-All

I saw plenty of texture shimmering on my OG PS4 which would maybe go away if played at a higher res.

A remaster only makes sense if they want to bring the game to the PS5 and add in some new tech for a Bloodborne 2. That'll get the engine up and running on PS5's fun new tech things, whatever they may be.

Otherwise, the PS4 BC will hopefully play Bloodborne just fine. #takeadrink

My memory is the theory is that Bluepoint, the team that did the Shadow Of The Colossus remaster, is working on the Bloodborne remaster for PS5. The alternative theory is that they're working on a Demon's Souls remaster. That seems more likely to me, given the lack of PS3 backwards compatibility.

Bloodborne still looks and plays amazingly well. The only things it needs are better load times and a better frame rate. It seems like a bit of a waste for a remaster treatment at this point.

Also, a lower difficulty setting for chumps like me.

February 5th reveal of specs, release date, etc.?

As the arrival date for the PlayStation 5 draws closer, there has been more information than usual. A few days ago, there were reports that the official slogan of the PS5 is “its time to play”. Now@PlayStation Europe official Twitter handle edited its status to “It’s time to play”. This is consistent with the speculations and it appears that the rumor is reliable. Now, the same source that speculated the slogan has revealed that the PlayStation 5 official specs will be released on February 5th at the PlayStation Meeting event, which will be held at the Sony Hall in New York City. It is worth mentioning that the PlayStation Meeting is an event by Sony to show important PlayStation products. PS4 was also released at this event.

Obviously it’s a rather small matter compared to what is going on in the rest of the world, but I see no way that the PS5 is going to be released in 2020.

The world‘a supply chain has taken a worse hit then World War II right now (we are more interconnected than 1939 and 50% of the worlds population is in lockdown, and that 50% is disproportionately centered in the areas with the highest manufacturing capabilities) so I see no way that they can release in 2020.

I dont think they should.... i agree but greed and ambition is a powerful.
I personally wont be getting the ps5 anytime soon

On the IGN Beyond podcast they were saying that the big companies should just agree (I think this was pie in the sky talk) that they’d do the console releases next year and get them off the table for this year. Makes a lot of sense. There are a ton of high quality current gen games yet to come out this year.

BTW the new PS5 controller looks horrible

I think it looks pretty damn amazing. A more radical departure in style than I thought. The face buttons & directional pad look almost like touch sensitive points on the controller. Very intrigued to get my hands on this too see how it feels.

I love it also.

The form-factor looks nice, but the white+black looks awful. Like they just came out of plastic surgery and still have the bandages on. If they offer it up in multiple different color options then maybe it could work but as it stands that color scheme is pretty jarring and awful looking.

But hey, as long as it's comfortable to hold I'll be good with it.

Renaming "Share" to "Create" is dumb though.

Yeah, can't say I care for how it looks, but as long as it's comfortable I'm fine with it. I'm sure there will be other color options eventually, of which I will likely avail myself.

Looks kinda like an Xbox controller, TBH. As long as the ergonomics feel comfy, I'm down with whatever.

The design looks good, it is the color combination i PERSONALLY do not like...

I like it. It reminds me of something...

...which also reminds me that I’ve never actually been able to play Portal 2 co-op.

lol... i wonder how the actual console now looks like... yiiikes

Interesting to see them embrace the three line "hamburger" icon for the Options button. The Xbox controller uses that, and it's based on the widespread hamburger menu icon used in mobile browsing.

It at least saves UI designers some trouble.

I'm more concerned that the buttons don't look like they have much depth, at least from that angle. I'm also a little surprised to see them hyping up the haptic feedback on the giant map button touch pad given how little use it actually saw on the PS4.

Given the nature of the Switch Pro Controller also being similar to the Xbox controller, I don't think that's a bad thing. It looks like it'll be a far more comfortable controller to hold. The only difference is the joysticks are both symmetrical still.

That was my first thought. Please don’t be white. Please don’t be white.

Seems just fine!

Not a fan. I hope it is not how the console looks. White would be an... interesting choice.
Hard to know if it is any good without holding one of course. Maybe it is better. Have never tried an Xbox controller. Switch controller is fine I guess. Too used to the PS4 controller though.

If it's comfy to hold that's good, but personally I really dislike white controllers. They show up so much dirt!

I’m surprised it’s so different from the PS4 controller. I thought the PS4 one was widely loved.

Yessssssssssssss!

On the one hand, I want to say "Why mess with what works?" but on the other hand I'm saying to myself the basic Dualshock design's older than most of the children of Goodjers.
