Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Flick is my favorite!

Got the Amiibo thing unlocked today. I have 1 Animal Crossing Amiibo, the cat with the sweater. I guess their name is Rover, but they won't let me invite Rover to the campsite for some reason. Is that a character that shows up?

Rover was the bus driver that took you to town in the old games to start the game. Not a neighbor you can have. All the amiibo proper are main characters like that: Nook, Isabelle, Resetti, etc., not neighbors.

The AC amiibo cards with just pictures of animals and NFC chip are where all the neighbors are. Those are the ones you need to invite people to campsite. They come in random packs of 6, and there are multiple series (1-4?) of them, covering various animals. Like old collectible baseball cards or something, you had to buy a bunch. to get everyone.

And those were clearance rack items 3 months ago, but now are outrageously priced on ebay, Amazon, everywhere.

I think you might be able to use the amiibo you have on Harv's island to take a picture with Rover. But that's it.

The campsite thing requires you to invite the same animal 3 times, and fulfill whatever request they have and then maybe they'll move to the island.

Ah okay. Well, I'm not really in a hurry or particular. I got Hans to show up with the campsite and move in. He seems cool.

So what villagers do people have so far? Mine are Reneigh, Kody, Doc, Flurry, Bianca and Julian. Still holding out hope that I'll get a dog or wolf villager.

On our walk yesterday my wife asked about Animal Crossing and I explained to her how I was planning on freezing out certain town members to try and get villagers I preferred. Lol

Flick just got me my full turnip investment back in bugs in 40 min. I guess I know what I am doing since prices have been bad for my turnips.

I like Hans so far, but he's new. Sort of a Austrian abominable snowman gorilla. I have Rodeo who is a bull and seems okay. Pompom (duck) is funny and dreaming of being a pop/YouTube star. Celia is a parrot who seems okay. Paula is a bear who seems okay.

The funniest one I have is Sheldon (squirrel?) the the little exercise nut who nicknames you Cardio and says things like swol.

As of this morning, Flick is my favorite character! I want an Amiibo! Hoping she gets to set up a bug shop on the island.

My current residents are Jay, Pheobe, Kitt, Beau, and Puddles. So far they all seems nice, although Beau keeps calling me Saltlick. Need to get that Sturgeon and Stringfish today...

Turnips are up to 156 today... I am expecting a crash soon just to really crush my hopes.

114 for Turnips here. Tiny profit. Gonna hold out. I’d like 200 at least but even 150 is tempting just to have it done

Yeah the 156 is tempting. Think I'd clear 125k or so. But there should be higher from someone around here.

My morning was 85. Will check afternoon soon.

FYI, when you find out KK is coming to town the first time, get dressed how you want the night before. Because daily announcement goes right into concert and you get no time to change if you want some screenshots or anything. Haha.

Got my island designer at lunch. Hoping to play with it soon.

How often do prices change? I had assumed daily.

I have Abigail in my town now and can complain to her about residents. Is this what you do to boot a villager from your town? I have never liked my two starting residents (Hamlet and Rocket). If I don't like them, is it no big deal to kick them out, or are there negative consequences I should consider first? Or is this option with Abigail something different? I just find Hamlet tedious and think Rocket's design is kinda ugly.

I just caught 2 spare sturgeon I’m going to keep for anyone who hasn’t got one. Gates are open for the next 40 min or so

Oh I guess that works for museum but not for catalog of fish.

Isabelle?

And I'd wait until you get KK and island designer quest finished. You have to have 8 residents for that and you don't want to waste more days with one moving out and another moving in extra. If you can stand them for another week or so...

There's an 8am-noon price and a noon-10pm price.

And they spoil at 10pm Sat night.

Mine so far have went 93, 90, 85, 80. I need to check Reddit and see if patterns have been figured out yet.

So far I have Reneigh a horse, Sheldon a squirrel, Anchovy a bird, and Freckles a duck (who just moved in today). I will finish building the third house tonight or tomorrow to see who else moves in!

(Yes, I've just been taking my time in this game and not trying to rush to get everything.)

K. Mine went up from 104 to 151. Still not gonna at that till like Friday. Waiting for something good.

I guess we're only talking a thousand difference on bank interest if I redeposited money tonight. So yeah probably worth waiting for a 200+ price for big turnip money.

Dang I thought it would work for both for someone

And found it. A Google Sheet stalk market tracker.

Not sure that we need a goodjer one of these with all of us as friends. But if those 4 patterns are correct, that helps me a lot.

Going 1-4 (purple to green) on that chart. I'm either in 2 or 3. Because I've already missed what would be the Tues PM bump for #4. If mine keep going down, I'll have to find somewhere else to sell. But if they jump, might be a party on Avalon Thursday.

I missed checking my AM prices, but the only one that fits what my island has been doing is pattern 1, so I guess I have a small spike happening at some point.

Yay! My first visitor! Thanks Amoebic

Ooh data mined turnip price calculator.

Data here.

Calculator here.

Assuming they programmed the calculator right, I could have a 200 or 600 spike on Thurs. Or I'm on the crappy decreasing all week, like I thought.

Very interesting.

EDIT: I know I'm doing it again...

My wife (not a game player) took sudden interest when I told her Chevre moved in.

Her: "wait...is she really a goat?"
Me: "yes"
Her: "does she make goat cheese omelets?"

I feel kind of bad here, because I said "I am not sure, she just moved in..."

Oh right villager roll call.

Katt and Hamlet to start.
Hornsby (island), Peggy, and Bertha for the 3 house quest.
Hippeux campsite.
Elise, because we didn't go to island to pick anyone out.
So then we went island hopping for Flurry, Canberra, and Hopkins. He's moving in tomorrow for our 10th and final spot.

After losing 2 sturgeon in TV mode, I am only fishing for rare fish in handheld mode with the volume cranked so there is no latency. That window is effin rough with a smidge of latency. I thought I was really fast both times I lost. Switching to handheld, I caught the first sturgeon that showed up.

Edit: Nailed second one right after posting. I have the perfect Nook Miles island for sturgeon farming right now. Can get one to show up every 5-10 minutes.

No missed fish, seven sturgeon caught now in the space of 30 minutes while watching TV. Love it.

Well that's disappointing to hear. I thought the sound was awful quick on the few fish that got away. Now that makes sense.

Possible sound latency issues, but not likely. Not every day.
