Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Catch All

Even when it happens the 17th time in a fight or when you are opening a heavy door?

Yeah, I understand the idea behind it, but that only works for me when it is a one-time event that's playing out as part of a set piece moment. Even then, I haven't missed the mashing at all since opting out.

It is occasionally overdone. But generally, I like it.

Happy third birthday Uncharted 4!

Happy Birthday indeed! The amount of joy from the brilliant campaign & addictive, deep multiplayer from Uncharted 4 is more than I ever expected.

Same here. Must play it through again.

First, as a whole I’m enjoying Uncharted 4. Drake is great as usual. I’m not a big fan of his brother. The story is entertaining and the graphics are great.

This seems to be the story of my life lately, but I wish there wasn’t so much filler content in Uncharted 4. The drive to the volcano seemed brutally long. Traversal seems too long too. I only need so much moving the left stick to the next hand hold. One wave of enemies for the encounters would be plenty too.

I saw that how long to beat has the main story at 15 hours and I don’t see how that is possible.I was thinking cool - I could go for a shortish story based game that doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s gotta take me double that, at least. I’m not dying a ton either. I make the occasional mis jump, or die in a firefight a handful of times - but it’s not like I’m replaying a fight for 30 minutes or anything.

I just wish they could condense the entire experience and then it would be awesome.

Edit: I guess I haven't been playing as long as I thought. Game says I've got 8+ hours into it and I'm about 50% done.

Lost Legacy is kind of that IMO.

I've been eyeing that. I need to finish (or quit) Uncharted 4 first, along with God of War and Spiderman.

Yeah, Lost Legacy is all of the good stuff without the filler. I recall the final sequence being a little frustrating, but otherwise it's now my favorite Uncharted.

And it's a wrap. It was nice to see it through to the end. The game is at it's best when Nathan and Eleana are in it together. Sam was ok but he just isn't the same.

Same as I said above. I could have used less traversal, less waves if enemies.

Nolan North's acceptance speech for best performance for his work on Uncharted 4.

A) I didn't realise he'd won it.
B) It goes somewhere I didn't expect.

Nolan's speech above has more impact in light of what we know.

Desperately waiting for The Last of Us Part 2 and having run out of titbits of interviews, etc that I can find about the original game, I'm turning to Uncharted 4 to get my Naughty Dog fix.

Playing the beginning again I've realised that, during my first play through, I was impatient to get to the set pieces I'd seen in trailers and didn't really appreciate the opening sequences. Taking my time with them and absorbing the characters and the phenomenal graphics I've been sucked into the game a lot more.

I also find that, in general, Neil Druckmann's writing can be subtle to a fault and it's easy to skim over scenes and not realise the strong undercurrents that are occurring beneath a characters calm exterior. I'm picking up on the nuances a lot more this time around and can see more clearly that this is the same writer who penned Joel and Ellie's story.

Sounds like the PS Plus games for April are Uncharted 4 and Dirt Rally 2.

We may get fresh blood in multiplayer.

Like I SAID on the other thread... I cant wait to start this one.

So glad I started another play through of this game. Enjoying the hell out of it. I'm fast approaching the epic chase sequence.

Combat is a lot more fun with my multiplayer skills to the fore. I think I played to statically the first time. Now I'm swinging about and throwing myself into fist fights. It's much more fun and chaotic.

Also, as a side note, why throw one grenade when you can throw three.

Jesus you make this sound very fun... i will start it tomorrow.. it is a shortish game right?

I think soooo. My time played when I started my second play through seemed to be at five hours.

Excellent.. i will give it a go tomorrow

It took me 20 odd hours on my first play through, if I'm remembering correctly. Its a masterpiece, I adored the campaign.

I thought it sounded too short really. Thanks Spikeout.

I remember sinking that time in over 3 days, I was glued to my PS4. I'm actually gonna play through it again once PS5 comes out, see if they can get 60fps with a higher resolution.

I loved Uncharted 2 & 3 back on the PS3, great games for their time but Uncharted 4 puts them to the sword. Its just a jaw dropping game with perfect pacing & much improved mobility & stealth.

whaatt... so you are saying that uncharted 4 si far far superior... omg.. need to start now

Haha! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I played through this again over Christmas, it really holds up!

Never tried the multiplayer though. Is there a GWJ group or something?

Myself & Higgledy get together & play it all the time. You're more than welcome to jump on with us ComfortZone.

The Uncharted 4 MP is probably one of the most underrated MP modes out there. Once you get a handle on creating different loadouts, learning the best situations & distances to use your chosen guns, side kicks & mystics are another fantastic wrinkle, getting to know the maps inside out etc

The whole mobility aspect of it (quick, snappy climbing, vaulting over walls, swinging on your grappling hook) makes this wholly unique.

We'd love some new blood teaming up with us!

We would indeed. I was surprised how good it turned out to be. From the trailers with the mystical abilities and npcs you could call in I thought it might be a bit gimmicky but all those things make for incredibly varied and interesting matches.

Thanks both! Being in Australia time zones can be an issue for me but I'll send you a PSN friend invite!

Yeah. Timezones are the killer.

The singleplayer continues to be phenomenal. Some nice traversal puzzles with unique elements and some absolutely stunning environmental design. I may go straight into Uncharted: Lost Legacy after this.
