NCAA Basketball 19-20 Catch-All

UVA does it again. *Shakes head*

What a turnaround for that team this season.

ACC Champs!!!!!!!!!

Guess we’ll settle for the #2 seed in the west.

Heck of a day as usual. Baylor and SDSU lose.

FSU wins the ACC outright.

Louisville loses to UVA and I say loses because dammit we had 4 chances to take the lead either tied or down 1 and took the dumbest shots I've ever seen. Dribble for 20+ seconds and jack up something at the shot clock buzzer. Stupid ass hero ball instead of passing to win.

Ugh. Thought I could post after a couple hours but nope.

Oh and UK came back from like 20 down at Florida, without one of their starters. Ridiculous.

Welp. That went as I expected. We made a couple of decent pushes, but just didn't have the will to win. Sad.

Yeah wish y'all had won one more. I don't want to play you Thurs night in Greensboro.

Eh, if tonight is any indication, they won't make it to Thurs. I wouldn't worry about us too much regardless. We'll find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory no matter who our opponent is!

There's still talent there. Back against the wall and home crowd. New season, only way in is to win the tourney.

I can see them winning 2-4 games next week, then maybe running out of gas finally.

No doubt, the deck is slightly stacked in their favor, with the tournament in Greensboro. The talent is certainly there, Garrison Brooks is had a 2nd team All ACC squad kind of season (1st if he'd been exhibiting those numbers all season instead of sporadically), and Cole Anthony is a known quantity (though I still don't see how he's a projected top 10 lottery pick, he's good... but raw at times, prone to emotionally destabilized play, and or poor decision making. Room to grow and improve, but not as instant offense as some other guards that'll be up this year. Perhaps a higher overall ceiling).

I'd say UNC's largest challenge has been team chemistry. The guys aren't as battle tested together as they need to be to make an extended run. We were beginning to see it come together over the last 5-6 games, I think, winning 3 out of the last 4.

I'd say if they don't come out flat against VT (and we definitely have a score to settle with them), there's a decent chance they win 2. That 3rd matchup is where it gets dicey. But I guess we'll see! I'll be out of town Thurs - Sat, so I'll only be able to keep track of things by glancing at the scores via phone.

It's been a while since UNC has had a losing season like this. Hopefully they come back strong next year (recruiting class is pretty solid, but it'll be interested to see how the new 5* bigs work into a rotation with Brooks and Bacot).

Cal will go into the Pac-12 tourney as the #10 seed, playing stanfurd first. Not sure how the rankings are, I think stanfurd is on the far bubble, but if we can beat them I'm assuming we can knock them out of any NCAA consideration all together, so as far as I'm concerned this is our Final Four. Cal beating stanfurd in the Big Game mathematically eliminated them from a bowl game, time to close out their basketball team too.

GO BEARS!

Got my tickets for Thurs night ACC session.

I'd say good luck, but there's a chance we'll be your opponent, so I'll hold off until we collapse against VT or Syracuse.

UNC up 20, lives to fight another day.

Danny Manning done. But he claims in post game conference he "absolutely" expects to be back next year.

NKU up 13 with a few min left in Horizon league. I like to cheer for home state schools (except UK). But also one of their key players, Tyler Sharpe, was a former walk-on at Louisville who then transferred. Hoping he gets to dance.

Clemson pushes past Miami, NCSU runs Pitt out of Greensboro in the 2nd half.. 2 more games later tonight.

Had to happen. With governors already banning large events and schools cancelling classes, they pushed the NCAA to action.

ACC tournament just announced the rest of the games will be empty stands too, sounds like.

f*ck, I don't get to watch Louisville play in person tomorrow, or this season apparently.

Hope I get my money back, nothing in statement.

I wondered about that. I can't imagine they aren't doing full refunds, given the admission has been cancelled.

And the rest of the power conferences follow suit. No fans this weekend

Oof. I think UNC forgot to get off the bus. Welp, at least after tonight I can watch basketball neutrally, and root for ACC teams in the NCAA.

Go Cards!

And I got an email from ticket vendor saying that since event was canceled I will receive full refund for tomorrow night's ACC session.

Mission Accomplished. GO BEARS!

Well sh*t. No games at all. This is bad.

Now I’m really glad that the Mountain West had their Tournament last week. Although if they had canceled we would still only be at 1 loss.

On the bright side, I can now be totally sure that Syracuse was going to make it into the bracket after yesterday, and would have amped up their typical tournament magic into a cut net.

Man this was SDSU’s year to make a deep run.

Yeah, cancelling is a bummer. This year was shaping up to be very interesting and potentially quite entertaining to someone without a horse in the race, so to speak.

I would like to congratulate Ohio State on their first ever national title.
