NFL 2019: The Super Bowl!!!!

Super Bowl Sunday morning, and I’m spending it at the circuit attorney’s office to press charges against the asshole that stole my phone last night.

I have no idea why I had to be here now. He stole it out of our car last night, and the police found it on the guy when they arrested him for something else. They came knocking on my front door at 4am last night, and I hadn’t even realized my phone was stolen yet.

When they asked me if I wanted to prosecute, I said yes, if for no other reason, someone had just stole our car a few months ago from the same spot. This time I didn’t leave the keys in when I left it unlocked. Then they said I needed to come down at 8am to press charges. They made it seem like unless I showed up 5 hours later on a Sunday morning, then this guy gets off Scott free, which seems insane.

Now the cops aren’t here, and it’s 10:30. FFS!

Now I have to hope the cops don’t realize my wife is on the legal team defending the St. Louis circuit attorney against the police union.

That sucks, on today, no less. Glad to hear you're pressing charges! It's not ok to casually break the law!

Re: Big Game.

I am going to go out on a bit of a limb and predict an SF win by a significant margin. I just can't quit a D/running game combo. I'll be rooting (hard) for the Chiefs but I'm thinking it's an old school blowout.

For anybody that hasn't seen it and misses Deadspin:

Would be awesome if we can get these white folks to just stop...

I haven't paid much attention to any of the build up, mostly because this week has been moving furniture in and out. So, busy week.

I'm not sure what to think of this game, but it's tough to bet against Mahomes. I'm actually thinking we may get a high scoring affair with Mahomes on one side and the run/pass/presnap movement confusion of the Niners on the other side.

I'm curious is Saleh is creative enough to slow down Mahomes. I'm curious if he's a top tier DC or is riding on the wave of an overtalented defensive roster.

For KC I wonder who will stop Kelce. Mathieu? Not sure.

I'm going out on the lamest limb of all time and think the game comes down to injuries. If one side loses a key player, that's the edge that tips the scales. If no one gets injured then I'm rolling with Mahomes to get the first of many Super Bowl wins.

Been seeing several stories on this. I hope being in the Super Bowl draws enough attention to this that the team finally acts on it. They had stopped encouraging the chop for awhile, but they brought back the theme for it.

But I hope Clark Hunt gets embarrassed by the coverage and acts.

Report: Raiders to pursue Tom Brady in free agency. I thought taking stupid gambles was only legal in the casinos.

While the chop is bad, it's not nearly as bad as the Bosa dickhole. Go Chiefs.

I'm glad there's no Phil Simms to ruin the Super Bowl for me, but I am not a fan of the Fox pregame crap. It's too cornball for me. Always has been.

I mean, is CBS's any less cornball, or just a different kind of cornball with Jim "Hello Friends" Nantz involved?

It could be an anti-Cowboys thing.

Tyreek Hill 2 time domestic violence champion less bad than a few MAGA tweets?

Not to diminish the tweets or anything. But if we're canceling a team over one player, I don't think the Chiefs have the high ground here.

Negatives related to SF winning: Bosa‘a sh*tty political beliefs, Legion’s happiness.

Negatives related to KC winning: Hill’s sh*tty actual things he’s done, racist fans.

So, I guess go Niners.

Some pre-game thoughts:

* The biggest mismatch in the game is the Niners run game vs the Chiefs run D. The Chiefs finished 29th in DVOA against the run. They had more success against interior runs than outside runs. They're 30th in DVOA against outside zone, which is pretty much the worst possible thing you can be bad at against the 49ers.

* When the 49ers D has lost in the passing game this year, it has been against size, not speed. When they lost to Seattle and Atlanta, and even when they barely beat Seattle, it was because of DK Metcalf and Julio Jones. Playing against WR speed (the Rams for example), the team has been more successful.

* They'll probably talk on the broadcast about how Robert Saleh runs "the Seahawks defense". That's not exactly true anymore. Here's the best video I've seen that covers how Saleh changed the scheme in 2019:

But of course there's a wind advisory that may lead to down power poles today.

Kansas City is so hyped right now. Volume is up to 11.

I'm hoping for a good game, but i'm expecting a easy 49ers win. If you can get pressure with four (and I expect the 49ers to finish with 3+ sacks), the rest of defense gets much easier.

Fair point, and they also have Frank Clark. May just root for a hurricane.

There don’t appear to be any Miami alums on either roster.

Another 10 miles an hour or so and I'll be having hurricane force winds outside.

I am apparently powerful yet highly inaccurate.

Jerry Rice wants to be activated for the game.

"I watched a Youtube vid" isn't usually something you can put on your CV.

Stop, this is the new anthem.

That Secret ad. Oh my God. I'm typing this from the floor. I am deceased.

Lego Masters!

They should play "Fire On The Mountain" to counter the chop.

DO NOT KYLE WILLIAMS US, RICHIE

Not many Niners fans at the game. Seems like they didn’t travel as well as KC fans.

Putting Pat Tillman's statue in that opening was really cringe. I don't even know what to say.
