Firefly - Love it!

Yeah, seasons 3 and 5 are my personal faves, mostly for the Mayor and Glory. Season 5 also has The Body which is one of my favorite episodes of anything.

Agree on the Body. Wow.

Must be a pretty nice Body!

What is this audio play you speak of? My Goo-Fu is failing me - I can't find any details...

I am very happy to let Firefly be an extremely vibrant memory. I got a season. I got a movie. There were comics.

Ron Glass has passed away. Adam Baldwin has metaphorically died. Joss Whedon has been exposed as a fraud. Everyone is 15 years older. I'm good.

I do wish there was an open-universe video game set in that universe. I can keep dreaming on that.

It is called Old Wounds. It was done by fans from a podcast called The Signal. They also did a number of fan mad soundtracks that were really good. The podcast doesn't exist anymore but it last for a number of years after the show ended.

Here is a link where I think you can get Old Wounds. Old Wounds

I'm curious what you mean by this - his marital infidelities? I guess I just gave up on thinking anyone in Hollywood stayed faithful...

It's like the American version of Doctor Who!

Fwiw, I like the Doctor Who audio plays better than the shows.

The harassment while preaching being a feminist. Here's a blog from his ex-wife.

I agree with this. He was absolutely exposed as a toxic Hollywood serial sexual power-exploiter. Not on the level of a Harvey Weinstein, afaik, but absolutely one who exploited his position and hypocritically pretended to be a feminist champion at the same time.

Many of us well-meaning normies have looked more at whether public people say the right thing rather than do the right thing, when the totality of human wisdom has always directed us to do the opposite. Hollywood is absolutely rife with utter hypocrisy, much of it excused because the bad actors (literally) say the right things while doing the opposite.

Man, I totally missed all this.

Jesus, I know broadly what happened but this was beyond what I thought.

Looks like Comet-TV has picked up the series for syndication. Doing a Labor Day marathon of the whole thing that started at noon. Can't help but watch a bit. Still so very good.

The crazy thing is that it has taken almost 20 years to match Firefly story telling wise with the latest season of Orville.
