NFL 2019: Championship Weekend!!!

Mahommes is not the greatest athlete on the planet...

Shouldn't an NFL team worry about their league's scandals before jumping into another giant organization's scandals?

Why would the NFL care about their scandals? They have little actual effect, if anything they just give more PR and fill up more of the 24 hour news cycle with NFL stuff. Revenue is still going up every year, until it hits their money they won't care.

But George Kittle!

On and off the field.

I agree, but was gonna let that go.

Look, look! Look at this good thing I did that didn't cost me anything and not at all for publicity! Aren't I great! Just look! Aren't I great for announcing it!

Can you be more cynical?

I don't think he is. That was the ridiculous conversation they had on Get Up last Monday. It was fun to listen to as a Chiefs fan, but it was ridiculous.

If one day it comes out that Kittle was high as a kite during every game I'll simply nod and think to myself... "That tracks..."

I saw that last night. The catches he made were freaking ridiculous.

... I knew there was something I forgot to do last night.

The Cleveland Browns would be a Dynasty as a Dodgeball team.

Spoiler:

Too bad they play football

Late to the Eli retirement news but Eli should go in as a first ballot HoF'er on nothing else other than he is a god damn American Hero.. but here's a good tweet thread that I thought highlighted some other boring statistical reasons.

The stats aren't compelling when adjusted for era, but one bit that I will consider in his favor: the part about playing with 0 Hall of Famers and only 2 one-year All-Pros on offense.

When you consider the fact that he played in New York, and how anyone on the Giants that is remotely any good is overrated with awards, the fact that his offensive teammates still barely got any is testament to just how shoddy that supporting cast was.

Still, Eli himself was 0-times All-Pro. 2 of his 4 Pro Bowls were as a replacement for an NFC team that had at least 2 quarterbacks not participate. He was actually voted into the Pro Bowl fewer times than Mark Brunell.

Eli should get in just for 18-1. If he needs help getting to the HoF I will personally go pick him up and drive him to Canton.

Kareem Hunt was pulled over for speeding and they found some weed in his car.

Hunt was cited only for the speeding violation.

Wtf?

I mean If he wasn’t high and impaired I’m all for not continuing to punish people for marijuana

It was his sister's car and his brother's weed. Officer.

It's medical. It relaxes him so he doesn't go beating on women in hotels.

Oh no doubt, I have zero issues with marijuana, but in what world do you not get a citation for having it on you in a state where it's still illegal?

Oh wait, he could've had a medical marijuana card since those are allowed in Ohio. Article on ESPN didn't mention that.

Yup, I'm seeing info that most Ohio police aren't courting folks for small amounts of weed anymore.

St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and Jackson Country (KC and suburbs) all stopped prosecuting any possession less than 100 grams, which they did a full year before medical was approved. Cops can arrest you, but there is not much point.

I assume a lot of other cities are doing the same.

Why not simply just replace the Pro Bowl with 7-on-7 flag football? I don't mean this as a slam, if I was the players, I wound't be giving much more than walkthrough speeds either. Pro football is a punishing, grueling game, just lean into making the final game a fun celebration of the sport!

Although literally watching the players meander through plays in full uniform is genuinely hilarious. I think I just saw the slowest QB rollout in history.

Why the f*ck are they bothering with the Pro Bowl after what happened today?

The NFL ain't stopping it's roll for anyone.

Been saying this for years. Let the Skills Competition be the main attraction, and throw in Flag Football as a portion of that.

I mean, I'd go full Rock n' Jock with it, just to make Mike Wilbon mad.

Also, I don't know if they should be asking the Pro Bowlers about Kobe, but it's clearly cast a pall over the whole thing and most of them clearly (and understandably!) have no idea what to say.

The ESPN personnel there, too.
