For you guys who are looking for the Discord link, it's not an official GWJ server. The reason is it gets a bit uhh ... not GWJ friendly at times (That's the best way to put it). I love the fact that we have a GWJ server but the rules are a bit tight for our rowdy group of people

I'm not saying it's an all-out brawl 100% of the time, but I also don't want to get banned from the server for anything that may be posted or said.

If you still want the server, that's fine. I just wanted to throw out that warning before-hand. Honestly, the server was started so myself and one of my friends could talk while gaming. It got a bit popular and we now have 6-8 people hanging out in there most nights.

To be fair the rules on the GWJ discord aren't that tight. We just draw the line on most of the 'isms and statements that promote them.

Ran, didn't mean to say the rules on the GWJ Discord were strict. It just started with a couple rowdy jerks and grew from there. Figured we would stick around and make something of it. I have absolutely nothing against it

Good times last night - thanks.

Finally picked up an Xbox One and saw this is available, and runs nicer than my laptop.
Anything important I should know about the console version? Does it cross play with PC? Do the builds found online work similarly? Any recommendations on a build for the season that will work welk on a console? I tend to like mage and ranger builds so I can keep my distance from threats.

I've never tried it on anything other than PC. Anyone else able to comment?

It was messy, it was brutual, i was shaking rediculously hard at the end.

It was my first real attempt to fight awakener. I attempted on awakening level 8...i just said..hell with it and tried.

Made it to the final phase transition without dying so started recording. Used ALL my portals in the last phase, gets hard to see and had zero experience with it, but i did it.

I killed Sirius Woke 8.

With flamethrower/fire trap.

Awesome!

You mean Woke Ocho, right?

Gameplay seems a bit buggier on console (PS4 in my case) this league than previous ones. But other than that, the rest is identical to PC...any 3.9 build (and most 3.8 ones) created for PC work fine on console. As far as recommendations, I prefer tankier builds like Incinerate Chieftain or Spectral Shield Throw Champion. They're my 2 favorites but the latter is tough as a starter because until you get a unique jewel and shield, it can be a bit slow. But once you get them you're basically Captain America slinging shields everywhere.

Any chance I could get a guild invite? Isoalpha in game.

Done.

Welcome to the madness!

Is this community still active on PoE?

There are a few of us who are on every night. It's not a huge community but 5-6 people who pretend to know what they are doing

LOTS of pretending.

Need anything, Dakuna? We do have community chests in the various leagues.

Well, I have a couple friends that were playing with me and we have a 3 person guild. I'm not sure they would come with me, and I'm not sure I'm ready to abandon them yet.

I'm glad there's some life, I'll be thinking about this a bunch!

Not a bunch of us playing these days. Maybe 4-5 at once. But these is a little life there.

Bring them in, as long as they're not going to loot the treasury and abuse the members.

naw, but they don't play much. I'm not sure what to do yet.

Well if anyone wants to add me I think I'm Dakuna by account name (steam).

Join us, friend them, play together.

Friend us, keep them, play together.

Keep us, play them, friend together?

I need a character name (and league) to add you, Dakuna.

Let them loot the guild stash! It's full of garbage and will save us all the time

...that's a legit option lol.

Moralz - uhm.. metamorph league?

So, 5th time is a charm I guess? The new league seemed ZOMG on the first boss summon (I was level 3 for chrissake!) but the next times it has been a very cool mechanic. Thems GGG folk are a creative lot they are.

They have done some things in recent patches graphically and mechanically. The floors are still super flat no matter what kind of normal map and gloss you put on it. However, the walls in the starting outer areas are much more organic and less claustrophobic.

And of course I have created another witch. This times I started off by finding a boring fireball but then looted a channeled poison cloud thingy that was very fun. I also found fire trap or I got it as a quest reward and I have always loved that skill. But then I chose the summon phantasm on kill support gem and fire trap is even more awesome. I think giving you more choices on quest rewards from the get go has made quite a difference with the early game for me.

Now I have this chest piece that is blue-blue-green. I put the phantasm support gem in the middle so I thought it would apply the support gem to both my poison spray and my fire traps but it is only going to the fire traps. I have double checked and the middle gem is linked both directions on the armor piece... I am doing something wrong?

edit: FWIW, I haven't spent any of my passive points yet...

If the channeled skill is Blight, that's a debuff. It specifically does not "hit" things and so it won't trigger on hitting rare/unique enemies. It's probably going to take longer to kill than the fire traps, so even if it triggers on kills, it will happen very rarely as your other skills will kill things faster.

Blight is often used to support an Essence Drain/Contagion combo, by adding lots of damage after the initial ED cast. You might want to give that triumvirate a try.

Blight sounds right.
I was really tempted to choose the contagion support gem or whatever the name was that would spread the affliction to nearby enemies. But I went with the phantasm one because I was not getting enough fishymancer fix from Wolcen. (or D3 for that matter)

I will change it later for sure as I gather there are better summons gems...
For now, I am dabbling and having fun taking everything very low key.

Contagion is actually designed to work with Essence Drain, not Blight as such. I will say, though, I use Summon Phantasms on just about every build. Something about all those phantasms flying around during a long fight is just satisfying. If you're playing a summon build, you can get ridiculous numbers of minions running and flying around, with Phantasms popping up continuously.

I actually played the game like you are now for the first few *years*. It took me that long to get to the point where I wanted to try something focused, and it was fun the whole way. So you're fine. Play it your way and chill and make up interesting combos.

Thanks for that last bit.
I made the mistake of yet again looking up videos on how to make sense of the passive tree and was about to quit in disgust. The guide was really good but that was the problem. I kept saying to myself "why the f*ck is this thing so damned nested and obtuse?"
