NFL 2019: Championship Weekend!!!

Big game receivers make this catch

Okay. I can play that game too.

Seriously? Now you're just making excuses.

You're judging players purely on dependent statistics. "Games below 50 yards" is not the meaningful metric you seem to think it is.

Julio had 1 game below 50 in 2015. He had 4 of them in 2016. So he was clearly worse in 2016 right?

Well, no. They won all 4 of those games. They were a better, more balanced team. Julio's targets dropped a ton from 2015, not his ability.

Like your old boy Eli, you succeeded far more than you had any right to.

KC taking some really dumb penalties.

Mariota siting!

Look at this guy talking about the game that's actually happening right now.

So far, Titans have played a lot of the man coverage Houston tried, but their DBs aren't dumpster fires.

Big man touchdown!

BIG MAN TD

EDIT: That was a great sell by Kelly. He turned his hips a full 90 degrees to really sell the block. Fluid hips for a big guy.

And you are making judgements on feelings. Why is Rice a better choice? Don't just say he is. Show me why he is. You say that Julio was force fed but completely ignore the exact same thing for Rice. You've shown no actual reasons you've picked Rice. You said he was the most consistent but when shown statistics that he wasn't your argument is that he was force fed. WHen shown that Rice was also force fed you say that my statistics are wrong. Where are yours?

I think I have something new for my sig!

Clearly you've missed my point about force feeding. It's not to discredit Jones and advance Rice. It's to point out that this measurement isn't meaningful for the comparison you want to make, period.

Rice *was* force fed in 1995, that wasn't his best season necessarily either. Like Jones in 2015, in 1995 Rice's #2 WR John Taylor was in the last year of his career and barely productive. Plus Elvis Grbac started 5 games and knew nothing but how to throw at Rice. Rice's numbers jumped in those games. Not because Rice was better those games, but because the offense became 1 dimensional.

The point is, these numbers are not carrying the meaning you attribute to them.

Yeah it's not like there's a one-possession divisional championship game on right now or anything.

Every time the Titans play coverage off the ball, Mahomes makes them pay for it.

Nice run by Mahomes.

PFM!

Can we stop this stupid WR argument and come back to it with more comprehensive responses? It's stupid moving the goal posts from one stat to another.

50 yard games? What does that even mean? You play a game in snow, your team runs the ball 100 times and passes it three times, yeah, you'll have less than 50 yards. Purely looking at that stat isn't going to be useful.

Attempts in a year? So, we're rewarding inefficient play? Completion percentage is up, yardage is up since the 90's. The game is different. The rules are different.

I think Rice is the best receiver of all time, but I'm not certain that he's the most consistent. I don't even know what consistency means and I'm not sure standard stats are the way to determine it. Yards per route run?

^

Pass coverage lining up 10 yards off the ball. Nothing but daylight for underneath throws and, well, scrambles.

Absolutely. It's a dumb argument. We all know that Tyreek Hill is the correct answer.

OMFG!!!!!

Watching the game at a Packers bar here in St. Louis. We have a group of 9, and it would have been too hard to get a table at a Chiefs bar.

But Packer fans here seem to be rooting for KC. The bar flipping erupted on the Patrick f*cking Mahomes run.

My wife and her friends are continuing their tradition from last week, shots after every KC score.

I love playoff football.

Well thank you "Tommy," for that beat-you-over-the-head-with-a-sledgehammer promo for your show. Jeeezus.

Again with airing ads instead of the ruling?

So Skittles come from milking a giraffe? That doesn't make me want skittles. Not at all.

KC doing a great job slowing Henry down. What are they doing differently?

Edit: Ten's OL isn't getting the push we've been seeing.

Well they did just run a goal line defense in the middle of the field. Looks like they're selling out on the run.

Have you seen Tannehill's passes? Can't blame them.

Can Tennessee possibly be less aggressive on defense?

I don't think anyone was worried about Tannehill. I think the most surprising thing so far is the effectiveness of KCs running game.

Imagine being down by 2 scores and playing coverage 2-3 yards behind the sticks.

Mahomes is God. That is all.

That's the ballgame.
