Gaming video Catch-All

2019 in Gaming: The Year in Under 2 Minutes

FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Demo Intro
*wow. I just can't wait.

These are boss fights fans have designed to look like they could be in the up and coming Elden Ring game from From. The only downside to this video is knowing these fights aren't in a game and therefore you can't experience them.

18 of the BEST STRATEGY Nintendo Switch Games!
*love me some lists!

Fantastic interview.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions Encore - Switch vs. Wii U Graphics & Load Times Comparison!

What's New & Different in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore - PREVIEW (Switch)

@farley3k started this thread as "A place for any/all videos of games. Let's Plays, reviews, etc." originally because the people on the game trailer thread didn't want reviews and things mixed into that thread. How do we feel about more technical gaming videos about gaming technology, drivers, and things like that? Example:

I haven't seen any other threads that fit and this thread's definition is pretty wide open on purpose. I'm personally very interested in this kind of video.

Looks like Skywind is close to being finished in the coming months. Hopefully it’ll release this year.

DOOM Eternal Trailer #2

Kinda puzzled why its been delayed so long?
Its looked really good for a while now.

This is funny.

This discussion usually happens in the Tech forum.

The “Tech and Help” section of GWJ forums?

This thread has had more than a few videos that aren’t explicitly “videos of games” but are kinda meta topics around games and gaming.

To get the measure of Sekiro I’m watching the Retry lads having a go at it.

I avoid PvP in Dark Souls but, watching this, you can see folks have fun. Although there is one AFK player who suffers a fate I though was funny at the time but that I can easily see ruining the persons game.

Doom Eternal After 3 Hours - Preview

These guys, the same lot playing Sekiro, are fantastic. I learned something about the inherent nature of Dark Souls bosses through their pain.

So, PostMesmeric is a bit of a friend of mine. Dude's helped me with script review and stuff in the past, and occasionally he and I get to chatting about stuff. So I wanted to share his top five games of the decade because it's not intended to be an objective analysis. It's just five games that meant a lot to him over the past 10 years, and as a result they're different from what you'd normally see people listing. I can't think of a better way to look back on the decade than to see that which people aren't repeating over and over.

And, in case you want something really different, he has a video discussing his experience of gaming with actual, legitimate, diagnosed OCD.

Shamus Young has been doing some video content lately, and today's was his best, I think. However, I think it's also a good follow-up to MrBTongue's Shandification of Fallout, which I think is really useful for determining what you as a player prioritize in a game world and experience and why certain players may not like what Bethesda did with the franchise.

Because if you're the type of person to ask "What do they eat?" then Shamus Young has some more in-depth analysis regarding where Bethesda took the franchise and how he feels it misses the mark of the original game, chasing superficial elements rather than the deeper ideas within it.

Good video, but I disagree with his main premise about retro-futurism. Bethesda didn't get it wrong imo, they made it better and in fact they needed to based on the switch to first person and the upgrade in graphics tech since the earlier Fallout games.

First person 3d games are intrinsically more immersive. To walk around a bleak, devastated world for several tens of hours could wear people out. Bethesda, almost by necessity, injected a lot more humor, themes, and situations that added a lot more texture to the world with the goal of lightening it up a bit. Especially given the fact that you were literally walking around now in this bleak environment instead of seeing it from a pulled out perspective.

I still remember people complaining that Fallout 3 was too brown and needed more color. Just my opinion, but I think a lot more people would've noped out of the bleakness after a much shorter time with the game.

Maybe they could've made it a whole new ip instead of a sequel? I wonder if it would've been as popular?

Nioh 2 Gameplay - New Boss and Level!

Nice. The character's kit looks SOOOOOOO good.

Looks like the Bayonetta and Vanquish updates get a clean bill of health from Digital Foundry!
