Giant Bomb Bomb-All

I think my favourite Dan moment from the end of the year podcasts was when he just used simplistic hyperbole about Death Stranding in typical Dan fashion and Jeff responded with "You've been doing this for 10 years. Use your words", and Dan's response to that was to not say a single other thing during the entire 15 minute conversation about the game.

And this is why I will not miss him. He was a child among adults.

I look forward to 100% less yelling and screaming into the microphone. Seriously, I'm glad. Couldn't stand him or anything he did or said.

I found him to be incredibly annoying and distracting from conversations. But on the other hand, his excitement was infectious at times. So I’m torn. But mostly, I’m indifferent outside of being happy for a person to find something they want to pursue.

With that said, there is a new and final (I am sure) Mario Party Party that was just released. find those endlessly fun to to watch. So thats a loss.

Also, it’s a 50-turn game. So it’s like 3 1/2 hours of Mario Party. I dig it but also recognize...

I'm listening to the day 3 deliberations right now and Dan thinks you get milk from chickens.

I mean, I doubt he does, but it’s part of his character that rubbed people the wrong way for so long. Even if it was a schtick, if the schtick is only what we know then it’s who he is.

Fabulous.

Amusing, enjoyable, and entertaining. Convivial even.

Did you say covfeefial?

Who is going to actually come up with ideas for new content now?

Someone with unending spirit and happiness!

I hope they hire Mary Kish.

Mary would own. That would be the best possible outcome.

Here's a Dan interview about leaving the industry:

I ask this question every time I come to this thread lol

I can't believe how much you all hate fun.

...you're all Brad.

I don't hate fun as much as I hate other people having fun without me.

Well, Gita Jackson won't be coming to GB, that's for sure. She's headed to motherboard and will be on the Waypoint podcast eventually.

I'm just as happy to hear that. Maybe even moreso, actually, unless that somehow leads to Austin stepping back from the Waypoint podcast, since I already know that she'll work great with the Waypoint crew.

I’m holding out the faintest of hope that Austin comes back to GB.

Natalie Watson from Waypoint is looking for work and lives in NY. Really though, there’s a huge amount of wonderful people that’d be great at GB and the most likely scenario is I’ve never even heard of the person.

As long as Austin is earning enough from Friends at the Table, and it continues to be something he loves doing, I can't see him making his way back to full time work for any company any time soon.

Was interesting to hear on yesterday's Waypoint podcast that it sounds like they nearly hired Gita a year ago or longer but were disrupted by the restructuring and stuff at Vice. She'll be awesome with the Waypoint crew too, and it seems like a good sign that place isn't going to fall apart, which had definitely felt like a possibility to me. I, too, can't imagine Austin going back to GB, much as I'd love that.

If you submit the same question to the Bombcast and the Beastcast, they should put you in podcast emailer jail. Double the sentence if both podcasts read it.

Man, this thread has been quiet since no one has anything to hate on Dan for.

Have they said anything about backfilling Dan?

Nope. They've usually waited a while before they even began hiring with the last people.

I was going to post about cancelling Gerstmann for believing that vikings only used axes, wore horned helmets, and had no 'famous' people, but decided it wasn't worth reviving the thread for.

Fair game now, though.

I don’t expect people to understand that everything the typical public knows about Vikings comes from Asterix.

Well, I am about one or two more annoying bits from beginning to complain about Ben Pack.
