NFL 2019: Week 15

Russell Wilson might as well be given a key to Charlotte. Dude owns the city.

Meanwhile, the W&M Bowl (Steelers-Bills) was something only a hardcore football fan could appreciate. Both of those coaches could be COTY candidates - Tomlin for winning (well, not Sunday) with a third-string QB, and McDermott because Bills.

And a heads up: We have one (1) week of Saturday football, and that's coming up this Saturday. For week 17, all the games are Dec 27 -- no Thursday night game, no Sunday night game, no Monday game. Plan accordingly!

I'm torn as an Eagles fan.. one the one hand I want them to beat the Cowboys Sunday..but on the other hand the Cowboys getting into the Playoffs might save Jason Garrett's job which is essentially a net win for the Eagles long term.

I'm not sure a meaningless home playoff game against an 10 or 11 win team really does anything for Carson Wentz long term but I can see that argument as well. He's regressed so far from his injury aborted 2017 season I'm not sure if a single playoff game is somehow going to fix him.

That loss dropped SF from 1st to 5th? Good grief.

Gotta beat Seattle in week 17, that's all that matters now.

only fifth because it puts them in the wild card spot. The requirement that each division sends a team to the playoffs makes season records a lie.

So, Freddie Kitchens getting the boot tomorrow and Todd Monken gets a shot at calling plays?

Were they going down the list of "Funniest Sounding Coach Names" when they assembled this year's staff?

I remember when he was interim OC last year and his big innovation was making sure his best skill position guys got the ball and weren't just decoys.

I miss that guy.

And for the record, I am rooting for Ron Rivera or Jim Caldwell for the next HC.

Info/articles/leak/rumor floating around after the loss yesterday that the Browns' brass is willing to give him another year.

I think he's gone. His offense was a mess and his top WRs are grumpy. They're beyond undisciplined. He's a goner.

One name is not like the others.

Yeah, Kyler is a weird name.

On a serious note, I'm pretty sure he's poisoning the Dolphin running backs to accomplish this feat to bolster his HoF resume.

I dunno that Rams game before looks like the ultimate trap game.

Rams are a cluster f*ck but there's talent in that team and they are not officially eliminated yet either. Not sure if the Saturday night game time helps or hurts.

Remember the last time a 7-9 team won a division? Saints fan's probably still do.

Imagine how much Caldwell's expression will change when he gets that call...

I think McDermott will def be a strong candidate, Tomlin less so because the Steelers have been through this before and still won games. Maybe if they were leading the division and hadn't lost to the Bills.

John Harbaugh and Matt LaFleur are gonna be tough to beat, I think. The Pack are quietly 11-3.

I think Shanny might no longer be in the running, especially if some of their key defensive guys are out any longer.

Why not Belichick?

Carolina managed to win an NFC East-esque NFC South in 2014 at 7-8-1. The tie was vs the Bengals, which should have counted as two losses. Either way, Carolina managed to win a WC game. Football is weird.

And thanks for reminding me about Beast Mode. For some reason my brain hadn't registered that Lynch did that against the Saints. And Playoff Saints are the most hilarious team on earth:

* Beast Mode vs a 7-9 Seattle team in 2010
* 7-9 for three straight seasons and no playoffs haha (2014-16)
* CAUGHT DIGGS SIDELINE TOUCHDOWN UNBELIEVABLE vs Case Keenum and the Vikings in 2018
* Pass interference* whoops against the Rams in 2019

Can't wait to see how the Saints fall on their faces this year!

* Not pass interference because eff the Saints

Updated and unrelated: The Kyle-Not-Josh Allen Era has ended in Carolina after 832 turnovers in 12 games. Will Grier will start next week vs Indy.

Josh Gordon is trending on Twitter. Surely, this is a good thing for him.

That'd be a no.

Josh Gordon being suspended isn't exactly shocking, but, man, so much potential, so many wasted chances. Safe to say this is it for him.

Chiefs claim Suggs

Goddamn shame.

Edit: I meant Gordon.

I'm shocked he made it even that far down the waiver priority.

If the 49ers win out and take 13-3 and the #1 seed, I think he would have a good shot, but if they lose in Seattle, probably not.

Oh, I assumed they're going to lose. Because they probably are.

That Lynch run is arguably the greatest run in NFL history. Derek Henry (against the Jags lol) is another. Sure you have Riggins and Allen in the Super Bowls but the Lynch one just has so many amazing moments.

No Josh Gordon = no Seahawks win

This was painful enough without the "lol".

What did Peyton Manning do to the Colts for them to gift-wrap the record to Drew Brees?

I like Jacoby Brissett, but the dude is a game manager. I can't see the Colts sticking with him longterm. I just can't.

The guaranteed salary in 2020 that he triggered by still being in the roster in September will just about guarantee he is on the roster in 2020, but that's the final year of his contract. I don't see a long-term deal forthcoming either.

Hopefully they wise up and start playing the franchise talent that's currently sitting on their gameday inactive list...

Terrell Suggs is "expected" to report to KC.

So much for that posturing.

You really need to go to the Colts team site and see the photo on his player page.

Spoiler alert: It's an empty helmet.

Seems about right based on his past actions.

So in theory if Tom Brady goes out and throws 4 TD's on Sunday will they stop the game to recognize the new TD Record.. and then later if Bree's throws another 3 TD's.. will they stop that again re-recognize the new record? And then next Sunday if Tom throws 5 TD's will they stop again to re-re-recognize the new newer record? And then if Brees....
