Random thing you love right now that doesn't deserve its own thread

Seeing Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, live.

I found the brightness settings. I can see things during the dark scenes now.

You can copy/paste images into postimages.org! I mean it says it right on the site, but I didn't much about it until just now. Talk about handy.

The new theme song for the Worst Year Ever podcast.

Not sure the best place to post this, but this is the thread where Higgledy and I have gushed about it before, so...

Looks like the first season of Taskmaster is finally available in some places outside of the UK. It is a brilliant show. You should all go watch it (region lock allowing).

"Officially" available. They have always been available. Thank you r/panelshow.

My lady worked hard today on writing a blog post about a sherry class she did and used some of my photos for it! Check it out!

I spent so long thinking Taskmaster would be yet another silly gameshow vehicle for random comedians to be mildly amusing on before I evenly watched an episode and found Taskmaster to be (and I can only vouch for the UK version) an absolutely sublime comedic experience.

Some episodes are better than others and some seasons are better than others but it's an absolute joy for the entirely of the earlier seasons and still pretty damn good now. If you can, give an episode a watch.

The UK version is probably my favorite current TV show but the US version was incredibly disappointing. The cast was just terrible and they were trying way too hard to be funny the whole time. The UK version is funny because it's funny people legitimately performing wacky tasks. The comedy doesn't need to be forced, it comes about naturally because fo the situation. There are so many American comedians that I could see being good in that environment and they went with that garbage.

It also didn't help that one of the cast members' sole attributes is being an aggressive asshole. The UK version has had it's share of grumps (Romesh Ranganathan and Jo Brand come to mind) but the only person I would describe as an asshole (Rhod Gilbert) was mainly just an asshole to Greg.

Able bodied people really don’t understand what it feels like being able to bend down and pick up something off of the ground, or sit up first thing in the morning without any pain. Even though the infusion wears off earlier than it should I temporarily have a range of motion I haven’t had for a long time. It’s a kind of joy I haven’t felt in a long, long time.

Just saw "Come from Away" with my wife. An absolutely heartwarming story about the small town of Gander Newfoundland taking in the crews & passengers of 38 airline planes that were rerouted on 9/11. I was semi-aware of the event, but never put any thought into it before.

It goes both ways, too. I haven't seen the musical, but the part that always gets to me is the Flight 15 Memorial Scholarship.

Amoebic is, and I am grateful for the effort they put forward!

I was thinking of the Stanatars, but yes, Amoebic is also absolutely the very best and amazing. That's just a given.

I'll just post real quick to show off my Stanatar, too I love it!

Those Stanatars are indeed totally awesome.

I got fed up with the beta and dev versions of Edge Chromium, so I switched over to Brave as my primary browser and it's working great so far.

It's also based on Chromium so it looks and behaves a lot like Chrome and is focused on privacy and security. One of the things that drove me crazy about Chrome and now the new Edge is that signing into the browser auto-signs you into every Google or Microsoft service. I want to use the browser at work and have it clear all data when it closes.

Another huge feature for me with Chromium based browsers is the ability to make a shortcut to a site to make it behave like an app. Opera doesn't have this feature for some reason.

Have you tried Firefox?

Yes, I use (and love) Firefox for my work accounts and prefer to use separate browsers for personal stuff.

I prefer the same, which is why I stuck with Chrome for such a long time, but Firefox added "container" support as a plugin and that solves my general need of being able to browse as different sets of cookies depending on whether it's for work or home.
