Borderlands 3 Loot-All

Neat idea, moderately executed...

Going on for WAY too long. We're a week past Halloween now, time to call it and wrap it up, I'm so sick of all these Terror annoinments.

But, Amara is set up really well and wrecks stuff... Zane is... still sh*t even with a Cryo Build. I'm not good at the sort of Fast & Furious build with all the speed buffs and such... almost got Moze maxxed (will hit 50 probably this weekend), and then just FL4K left to level.

Loving this game, it's a lot of fun... but yeah, between TWENTY FIVE Haunt kills to get that last challenge done and all the damn ghosts infecting literally everything else in the game, I'm over it.

Yeah. I powered through those kills to unlock the gun skin because I just cane leave it unfinished.

Then I realized I read the end date wrong. Bloody Harvest wasn’t to end on November 5th, it ends on December 5th. We have another month of this!

Which is exactly I have no intention of touching it again until after December 5th. Difficult grind with no known permanent rewards? NO THANK YOU!

DPJ on youtube said they stated that the annointments would stick around. So all the terror stuff will be available to use after December 5th, but the ghosts won't be. This means you'll need some way to create terror if you want to run one of those builds. Basically, you have to get really lucky on grenade and shield mods, hoping for a "Gain terror every 5 seconds for 18 seconds" annointment. (Or a melee one I guess - that one works with gut puncher).

I'm not sure it will be worth it, considering all the gear will be next to useless once the level cap raises.

Also, I'm enjoying Zane, even though he's supposed to be the weakest vh. He's quite gear dependent relative to the others, so ymmv.

At first I stayed away from the drone because it was on such a long cooldown. But I tried it out one day and never went back. The drone is really powerful against packs, bosses and badasses!

I finished the main game and I'm really struggling to find a reason to play through again. I romped through BL and BL2 many times, but this one just didn't quite have the same impact for me. Not sure why.

I played Moze, and hardly ever used the mech!

The other characters didn't appeal as much, though maybe I should give Zane a try.

I haven't played since Outer Worlds came out as my wife is bogarting the xbox playing Outer Worlds. Hopefully she completes that soon, but I might be getting Jedi Fallen Order.

I stopped once I gained access to the Halloween area. That there were a bunch of extra enemies made the various arenas very frustrating. I'll probably jump back in when I feel the itch.

Yeah, I'm running a Cryo "Calm, Cool, Collected" build with a Cryo Lucien's Call and Cryo Night Hawkin and even then... it's so scatter shot in Mayhem 3, not even accounting for modifiers that change. Cryo being so weak against shields when almost everything at 3 has a shield and being completely useless against Annointed mobs... just why. Why is one character's only available elemental damage something that any mob has a complete immunity to, much less the hardest general mobs in the game?

So instead I'm playing my Elemental Amara gunslinger who Ties that Binds everything together then hits them once with a brainstormer and watches my minimap empty out. XD Working on leveling Moze next as I've already got her class mod to go basically infinite with shields and a deathless to just multiply that again.

As for Gear, I have a recommendation for just about any build... Atlas's Q-System ARs. They are soooooo good, even as blues (and depending on the roll, sometimes greens). I did Slaughterstar at Mayhem 1 with Moze at level 39 using JUST the Q-System and my grenades the whole time, it was amazing.

EDIT: Apparently today's hotfixes include a change for the Annointed enemies, they will no longer be immune to Cryo, but can only be slowed, not frozen going forward, so that's something, I suppose. But, Moze and FL4K just feel much more engaging and Amara's way more fun for me by comparison so.... not enough to make me play him again.

Good news! The annointed are no longer immune to cold! Bad news! They still can't be frozen, only slowed.

Of course, this doesn't do anything to the problem of them being enormous bullet sponges or the fact that they have immunity phases (stupid militant), but at least they addressed one major issue with them.

I 100% agree about the Q-system. Get one with x2 rounds per shot and watch the enemies drop.

(Just saw your edit re: annointed changes - yep)

Anyway, I have an Amara and a Flak in the process of leveling up. I'll give them a go eventually, but I am not sure I want to swap characters that much. That phase grasp amara build does sound really fun, though... hmmmm

And... apparently they changed the Hex, Stormfront, Quasar, and Firestorm to no longer count as splash damage, so the healing portion of my infinite shield Moze no longer works... which is problematic as hell because you can't survive even with shields alone without some healing for those shields via bloodletter...

Buuuuuuuuuuh, and back to leveling my Tank Pet FL4K build, though I might just go Rakk Attack with him soon now that I've got enough points to get deep red.

It's still weird to me that they mess with (nerf) items in a pve game in a way that can destroy builds. They keep saying they want build diversity, then breaking current working synergies.

I guess the theory is that if you make the current dominant build less appealing, people will try other things? I think people are more likely to put the game down, honestly.

I was working on a build with my Moze that used health to replenish the shields so i didn't have to rely on grenades to do the healing due to the previous nerfs. I've not logged in since CoD launched so can't remember the specifics.

It's all based on stats. People will always gravitate toward the easiest path to get a job done. Their job is to spread the wealth across the board. Yea it's going to make some unhappy, but it'll make more happy that they did.

Before i stopped playing i finished leveling up and gearing my Fl4k and to hear folks from the first set of nerfs that he was useless compared to what he was before. He's definitely my best boss killer by far and still needs a nerf imo. I can't imagine how he was before the nerfs...

That's the thing, restoring the shields via health via grenades is one of the bigger "sustain" things for Moze, it's how most of the mega shield builds (including mine) make sure to keep pushing other than just relying on Second Winds, if they happen, giving you back basically 40k+ health even without that Guardian bonus for "full health"... though if I'm in like a Slaughter Shaft situation, with enough quick kills, that number can quickly inflate to like 60K+. But not being able to maintain is definitely lame. Really need like a widespread grenade like an Epicenter or Moxxi's to ensure I get multiple hits... wonder if Nagata would count with each of those being a separate "grenade"... would make a somewhat lackluster grenade into something a bit stronger as a support tool.

Right... i was relying on the hex and quasar (fyi i tried moxxi's and didn't like it) previously and wanted to get away from relying on grenades after those nerfs.

Yeah, tested Moxxi's last night and hate it. Amusing grenade "concept" (if also kind of gross)… but yeah, doesn't work well at all for... pretty much anything.

Out of curiousity, if you're not using grenade hits to regen health/shields via bloodletter, what are you using for sustain on Moze?

Don't remember tbh. I stopped playing for CoD. I just remember not being happy using grenades to help sustain and was looking into other options.

Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite it live today. They say you'll probably need a group to finish it, so it uses the same philosophy as the Circle of Slaughters... if you die, you spectate.

Mayhem level 4, new legendarilies, boss loot pools, buffs to late game skills, and other good stuff too!

Patch notes

... and most importantly, Zane buuuuuffffs!

Sad, I have no one to play with on Xbox. Not max level though I have all the side quests I have been able to find done. I just have been working to get 100% in each zone.(after taking a break for SW: Jedi Fallen Order)

I'm playing on Xbox with 2 other guys a few nights a week. I just hit level 50 last night. If you see me online feel free to shoot me a message and we can get you added to our group.

I will try to get on tonight and friend you on Xbox, otherwise my tag is Rainsmercygwj.

I am so close to 100% but the Halloween event really put a stop to it. Only had the arenas left and the extra enemies made them unbearable.

So after missing getting the Blood Harvest heads by two hours, I've been trying to do better watching out for promotional shift codes.

Currently they are doing 12 days of gifts. We are three days in, and these codes are good until Jan 10th.

WSW33-HSFJ9-CWRZF-6J3B3-JF6BF - a legendary assault rifle - TORGUE, shoots sparkling projectiles that bounce

KZC3B-33Z39-5CFSX-6BTJ3-RWFZF - Reinskage ECHO Skin (Animated)

W9WTT-FSFTZ-5WRZR-63BB3-WK6WT - Candycane ECHO Skin

I picked this up for PC while it's on sale for $38. I've been on-call and working extra hours but that all changes after today. I'm on vacation until the 27th and I'm not going anywhere...wait I'm going to Pandora!

Not quite sure about the "dedicated" loot sources at this point.

Over the weekend I killed the Tink of Cunning about 20 times and ran the Takedown successfully 10 times, all on Mayhem 4. Still no R4kk P4k class mod to finally be able to try a Rakk build. :\ (Sidenote, it's still weird to me that one of the class annointments for FL4K is basically just his 'other' Rakk class mod's effect of an extra charge of the ability.... surprised they haven't changed that yet.)

So yeah, dedicated is... it's a thing, but man it sucks doing two long activities, one of which has potentially 0 rewards other than $20k for the mission complete and never getting the thing I want.

The next three festive shift codes (featuring two mistakes!):

CandyCane Trinket: WS5J3-WTZJZ-WKRH6-RJ3TJ-JSZHC

Festive Vestment Skin: CSKJB-6B9BZ-5K696-RBTB3-6FCBS

SnowGlobe Echo Skin (Epic Game Store): KSW3T-T59JS-CWF96-RBJ33-T3FCW
SnowGlobe Echo Skin (non-epic): WH5JJ-ZBSBH-KK6H6-R3JT3-F6TCF

The SnowGlobe skin not working on Epic was the first mistake.
The second was that the festive skin was supposed to be tomorrow's rewards and was posted a day early.

Curious about the new Echo Skin, the last one being animated like it is was surprising. Not sure why as the Deep Nebula and Halloween weapon skins are both animated so obviously the Echo can be too... but very cool to see.
