Giant Bomb Bomb-All

Listening to the 80s music ranking podcast, and I think the "Do these guys like anything" canard can be buried for all eternity, because holy sh*t have they all come out swinging for some real garbage.

They like bad 80s music, Sneak King, and Burger Time. That's something.

Also the Burnout games.

And Mario Maker 1. Hitman as well sometimes.

Don't forget Mairo Party.

Only Dan and Abby like Mario Party.

Burger Time was fun. It had a good TI 99/4A port, and I played quite a lot of it.

Just don't mention Yoshi's Island or Super Mario Sunshine around Jeff...

I mean, they come out swinging for real garbage for pretty much everything whether it's food, music, movies, TV. It's mostly just games they don't seem to like.

Out of all of Dan's awful opinions, for stating that LaGuardia is the best airport in New York City, he deserves to be hanged.

There is no best NYC airport, all are abysmal.

There is no world in which LaGuardia is Least Worst of the big three NYC airports! Aside from the airport itself being terrible, it's the #1 source of non-weather related delays in the entire US national airspace system. Even it's airspace is an overly complicated nightmare because it's sandwiched between JFK and EWR with poor TEB sitting at it's mercy directly in the line of runway 31. At the airport the airspace is only about 12 miles wide.

So where is everyone on fruit?

I agree that Banana is good as a fruit but bad as a candy. This is the content I go to Giant bomb for.

Jeff and Ben's hatred of watermelon is appalling.

The banana candy thing --scratching the back of my memory: Banana candy actually tastes like banana, just not modern banana. Its modeled after bananas before 1950s. There was some sort of banana blight in the 50's killing the largest type of bananas consumed at the time. The bananas we have to day are the bananas bred to replace those bananas, and consequently, taste slightly different.

Which means old bananas tasted gross, 'cuz banana candy is gross AF.

I keep repeating this to people, even as recent as last week, with no proof its validity. I will continue to do so.

BEHOLD THE GROS MICHEL BANANA

The name Gross being appropriate.

THAT'S BIG MIKE TO YOU, SON!

I had a banana grown in Maui, and it was the best tasting banana I've ever had. I wonder what kind it was.

They're called (locally at least) apple-bananas. They're smaller, less dry, and more tart than mainland bananas. And yes, they're fantastic. I say that as someone who didn't really like bananas growing up and was skeptical of the apple-bananas when I moved here.

Nice!

Be prepared for bananas to change taste again. There is a plague moving through the world that affects the Cavendish bananas. They are likely to disappear in the not too distant future.

And it's all thanks to Dan Ryckert.

Geez these guys are down on Stadia... at least they did confirm it does work multiple times...

I feel underappreciated as a market. You would think that Giantbomb's age as a thing would lead there to be a fair number of people that used to game a lot but have aging hardware that follow the content. That is Stadia's early adopter market... $300 for a new video card or $130 for a controller, chromecast, and early adoption fun. I know it had a rough opening day, but I was busy and got my code while travelling for work. No down time for me.

I haven't gotten to the Beastcast yet, but I am excited for Ron Funches to be on there if I read twitter right.

I don't think they're down on the tech, I think they're down on Google's (frankly bad) offering. $60 for a game I can't install on *something* and play offline? Relying on Google, who cancel 90% of the projects they start, to not just decide to quit supporting this?

Yeah... no thanks.

Project Xcloud will allow you to stream games that you actually own. Games you can play offline on your Xbox or PC. The dudes seem a lot more interested in that approach.

Ron is a delight on the Beastcast!

The reason I am not excited is that I doubt google will support this tech. I am not willing to pay for games that will just disappear when google gets bored.

I got the feeling many reviews were in this boat.

They keep calling Dan a "film major" and it upsets me and I feel upset for Abby, who is an actual film major. Dan is not a film major, he is a General Studies major with a focus in film. And he's barely that considering he never went to class.

Ron was great on the Beast-cast, I want more of him!

His voice through me off for a bit but he's funny as hell and clearly loves games. Absolutely want him back.
