2019 MLB Season Catch-All

On a lighter note, I'm shocked this thread hasn't discussed the flashers from game five!

I mean I saw them.

And I saw they got banned indefinitely from MLB.

Upside of the crappy umpiring is that is has USA Today lobbying for robotic strikezones:

Road team leading again. This series is weird

and Strasburg, wow what a recovery.

Oh that call, you gotta be kidding me.

Insane. This replay might decide a lot.

Holy sh*t haha

Calling Turner out on that play, and then taking 10 minutes to look at it, think about it, and say "yeah, we made the right call" is just absolutely mind-bogglingly f*cked. And they tossed Davey between innings?!?! What is going on? What did we do to earn the ire of these terrible umps?

Game 7. Let's go.

First time in MLB, NBA or NHL history the first 6 games were won by the visiting team.

I was trying to explain the ruling to a couple of non-baseball watching friends and couldn't come up with any rational explanation. The MLB lead officiator was at the game and defended the umps decision, in a Ken Rosenthal interview, by saying it was their call and it was the right one because the glove was knocked off. Rosenthal never gives any pushback so it was a lot of useless prattle.

"Whoa, Skip! They all might have AR-15s!"

Watching the replay, Turner was so far to the left of the basepath that his left foot was on grass every step. But then Torre seemed to say that had nothing to do with the call, so... I dunno? Turned out not to matter.

Anyway, I'd say the umps owed Martinez some leeway after that, but dude was clearly begging to be tossed. They let him rant and push towards them a long time before they did it.

The crazy thing to me was, how was he still THAT murderously angry after they blew the game open that same inning?

It was the wrong call because there was no interference from Turner. Gurriel's glove was directly over the base when Turner made contact. Even if he ran along the 100% correct (if stupid) basepath he still would have hit Gurriel's glove.

Because that is like the eighth stupid bad call against his team in the last three games and he had had enough?

I think Martinez deliberately got himself tossed to fire up his team.

Go, go, Astros!

It feels like Houston should be up like 8-0.

Seriously. Like, it feels like the game's pretty much done, and yet I also know the Nationals could pull a 7-run inning out of their butts.

EDIT: LOL

EDIT: LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Things are happening in the 7th.

I AM A WITCH

Basically every time I stop watching, Washington scores. Guess I'll take one for the team, guys.

Well they scored regardless, wow. That might be it.

Sorry Fed but at least we're witnessing history. 7 road wins, crazy.

Baby shark indeed.

EDIT: Also, the Bryce Harper jokes will never end.
