Borderlands 3 Loot-All

I'm hating that they are treating this as if it's a live game, I loved borderlands 2 and all the dlc. Borderlands 3 and all the dlc seemed like a no brainer but I didn't want a second destiny to play, I wanted a sequel to borderlands 2.

I wouldn’t get too hung up. These balances really only affect end game grind and optimizations. If you’re not into that aspect the changes won’t alter the game all that much. It definitely feels like a sequel to Borderlands 2 just with more things to do in the end game. They also did the smartest thing in adding the mayhem modifiers and boosting everything to your level once the story is done.

Good to know I keep meaning to come back to this I really did love what I had played so far.

Finally got to Tyreen last night and never got her down more than 25%. She was one level above me because of course I leveled on the part of the story right before reaching her. Guess its grind out some side quests I was trying to save for Mayhem levels like I did to beat Troy.

Played around with my Moze a few hours last night. Still plenty of AoE goodness to be had. Cannot understand why laser sploder got nerfed though.

Re-did some skills to make heavier use of AoE guns and explosives outside of grenades.

5 seconds of infinite ammo after action skill is YUGE as a skill btw. You can shoot a lot of missiles....or stickies.

If you get lucky and find an unforgiven pistol you can use crit swapping after the 5 seconds and blammo something with torgue stickies despite the nerfs to shotgun, it's still enough rocket or shotgun stickies (with a good shotty) to make math get stupid.

I was messing with boss farming for testing but now i'm gonna go progress moze beyond Graveward in TVHM and i think it's gonna be great mobbing too.

For Zane, i went back to speed focus, not going quite to giving digi-clone a copy of my weapon anymore. It's cool when it works but it's too frustrating to try to get him hitting the right target. Giving myself more of the power and STNL should work out better overall.

Zane cryo is fun and all but you can't focus on one element in Mayhem 3, not possible.

Look for a tediore SMG or pistol with ++ in its name and that throws mirvs.
You can also choose the talent that lets you throw grenades in FFYL.
If you need to level, try Circle of Slaughter if you want to save side quests for Mayhem.
You cold also try multiplayer Proving Grounds.

I went ahead and finished leveling up Fl4k to 50 and tested out some builds. I've now ran all 4 characters at max.

Between all characters i think Fl4k and Moze are still the best boss busters. Fl4k's Fade away build is by far the most potent. Even after the nerfs. Moze's blast/grenade build is also still strong after the nerfs. The flakkers while not the insane gun they were before is still super strong with Moze.

Ugh. I just never like the 'gotta use multiple elements' design thing. I am not great about min maxing, or mixing weapons with stuff... I really just want to shoot things, and needing to constantly swap weapons or fire modes feels annoying and irritating. It killed the higher level stuff in BL2 for me as well.

Oh well, I guess I should have expected more of the same for the endgame here.

Hell, I'm still not done with the first playthrough. I JUST got done defeating Troy!

That’s funny because I really like the weapon switching aspect. I look at this as an RPG first and a shooter second, though. I am only playing on mayhem 2 and that seems to be the sweet spot for me.

I like the element switching on Amara because I can set her melee attack to one of three elements to help cover my bases. Having a reason to punch some things and shoot others makes me feel clever and gives the gameplay a nice bit of variety.

With Amara I have found that there is not much that can withstand a cold shotgun with the passive that converts %40 to her element (fire) damage. I'm not 100% certain but I believe it is a cold torgue (explosive) shotgun...

In Mayhem 3 cold does f*ck all to bosses.

Cold, explosive, incendiary does nothing? What does, shock?!

Depends. The modifiers in Mayhem mode are random.

Even when it's set similar to the 2nd option shown there i've yet to see cryo damage to be as effective as other elements. While doing regular mobbing or CoS i've seen cryo just destroy things in a blink.

I use the queen's call cryo on flak and melt bosses

I'm mopping up the Trials quests and 100%ing each area. It's a little annoying that red chests aren't marked but contribute to the percentage. Wish you could by treasure maps to hunt them down.

Are the three Torgue quests beatable on single player if I lower the difficult to no Mayhem or easier? I don't think I can handle them alone on Mayhem 2 like I am doing now. The Trials haven't been a problem. I'm not grinding for loot, just finishing quests and world percentage.

So the Blood Harvest is live now. I'm not sure how I feel about event specific anointed items. It seems like either a waste of drops or a pain to put together a set to use after the event.

depends on your build

I'm not bothering with the Halloween event. Got frustrated dealing with the anointed bonus event for their 10 year celebration.

Yea they increased the amount of anointed gear that drops but seemed to lower the drop ratio for legendaries.

Finally beat the main story last night. Tried Mayhem 2, need different weapons that aren't fire/ice apparently as everything has way too many hp. I just hit 40 when I beat Tyreen. Oh well, I'll bump it down to Mayhem 1 or none and then go do the Halloween content, just for the extra content.

I did the same thing. I started at Mayhem 1 and then went to Mayhem 2 once my weapons were more powerful and started gaining a bunch of guardian ranks. Probably won't move into Mayhem 3.

Still trying to clear every map. Down to 7 areas left all on Pandora, the trials, and 3 of the Torgue arenas. I may skip the Torgue arenas if I can't quickly clear them on easy with no Mayhem. Not entirely sure how much I'll engage with the Halloween content. Seems like a bunch of busy work with little actual reward. The Outer World is out today but I'll hold off on that until I've exhausted Borderlands 3.

I really like this game.

Ghosts

Heck

Haunt

Super fun

New shotgun saves my moze from benching. Amazing moze AoE no reload build shotgun. So fluffy I’m goons die.

The ghosts really suck as I'm trying to finish the Torgue quests...

Yeah... not the time to be trying those.

The terror anointed items can be pretty powerful if you have a item that stacks terror on you automatically and you don’t care about accuracy. On the other hand, if I do assemble a killer terror set, I guess there just won’t be any improving it until next year.

I did manage to beat the Cistern of Slaughter last night solo. No mayhem and dropped the game down to easy. Took too long and almost glitched out on the last enemy.

I think I'll take a break and play The Outer Worlds then get back to this afterwards. Only have the trials, 2 Slaughter arenas, and Heck left.

There's apparently a big patch expected in November that will greatly expand the bank and add in the raid "Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite".

Finished my 2nd playthrough on Mayhem I a few days ago. 50th level Mose dual Hammerdown build.

So, getting a little bored, decided to go physical with a Siren build.

Then found the "Previous" and "Next" character buttons didn't work, and there was no sign of my Mose character. Tried restoring the save files in the Borderland game folder one by one, no luck. The save files are overwritten or gone.

Thanks, Gearbox!

Well, at least there's items in the Bank, including a shield with 100% Electrical Resist (Hello, Killavolt! ).

The Halloween horse sh*t plus Outer Worlds coming out may have successfully bounced me off Borderlands. I can't imagine okaying flying, wall-clipping, simple-aggro enemies that pop out of normal enemies everywhere.

On top of that, to collect the sould/widget/whatever from them, it only drops them if you shoot them out of the sky before the hit you/infect you. That's after just killing a mob, so possibly out of ammo and in the middle of a reload. At least for me anyways. YMMV.

I'm taking a break from it, Wife is playing Outer Worlds on Xbox One anyways, so can't really play it.

Both of those have put a dampener on my run through the story with Amara...

Neat idea, moderately executed...

I have a spare Trick Unforgiven on pc if somebody would like one for crit swapping. The crit increase is 384% iirc. Just send me a pm and I'll in-game-mail it. I know somebody was looking for one a while back.
