Oh! I nearly forgot... (NSFW language)

(and the South Park version)

Okay, so, maybe there's more than one punch there...

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

What are the best improvised weapon scenes?

Every Jackie Chan movie

Also this:

I love this one from Kung Fu Hustle, which happens before you are told that the guys in this video are secret martial arts masters.

Headshot, the police station fight. Purely for incredibly nasty payoff for the typewriter:

(Probably don't watch that one at work.)

Also, shoutout to Tangled's frying pan:

Also, because I missed my opportunity to be on-brand last week:

The Tangled frying pan was the first that came to mind for me. Now I have to think of another...

Content kinda gruesome if you haven't seen it before:

Happy Hump Day?

What fictional world/story would you most want to live in and which one would you least want to live in?

Most: In the Star Trek universe. Though I'd want to live in it after all of the serious drama. Everybody gets to follow their interests and talents without worrying about bullsh*t. Seems nice.

Least: Sanctuary (from the Thieves' World series). That place is all kinds of messed up. Death everywhere. Constantly being invaded. Magic is nobody's friend, and the gods are insane.

I had crushes on a whole lot of characters in Sanctuary growing up, though..

Star Wars. Fighting for a righteous cause, space travel, maybe Force powers. I think I'd do well there. That or be a wizard in Dresden Files

Any post apocalypse. I'm too dependent on indoor plumbing.

Most: gonna be a copy cat and say peacetimes star trek. Really any post scarcity society. In the inner worlds of Peter Hamilton's commonwealth setting would be pretty sweet too

least: any zombie appolocypse setting. #teamzombie

Most: The Culture

Least: Oh, there's so many, but let's go with Bloodborne's Yharnam. That seems like a real miserable existance.

Most: The futuristic utopia from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. A peaceful society that idealizes rock music.

Least: Footloose. ‘Cause I gotta dance!

Who put the sticks up their butts?

Most: apparently there's a parallel romcom universe in which an average looking guy with zero above average qualities ends up with a smart, sensitive, super attractive lady. Take me there please. Just kidding, no interest really, have no idea because most ficitional universes are kinda worse than ours.

Least: The Road. That movie soured my mood for days.

Most: I would love to live in the Star Trek universe (hopefully as a doctor or engineer in Star Fleet), or the Mass Effect universe (even if it's just as an Adept in the Alliance forces).

Least: any apocalypse, and particularly a zombie apocalypse. That stuff sends my anxiety through the roof because I think of my children and how unlikely it would be any of us would survive.

HAPPY HUMP DAYYYY

What's a unique experience you've had at/from a significant height?

Does anti-height work? I told my dad I loved him while hiking the Grand Canyon.

I jumped out of an airplane. No... I was pushed out of an airplane. Because while it sounded like great fun to go skydiving, when I stood at the ramp with my 2 instructors on either side of me, looking straight down at the Earth a very, very far way away, my brain went "NOPE!!!!" Then they pushed.

But, once I was out of the plane and in free fall my brain stopped being afraid and went "WEEEEEEEE! This is awesome!" Of course, I haven't actually been back to do it again, but it was definitely an amazing experience and I'm glad I was pushed.

I'd done a fair amount of medium to low visibility scuba diving and at one point got to be in Maui for a few days of diving on a small dive boat. First time I went on a deeper dive there in 100 feet or so, I could see the bottom while floating on the surface. It felt like I was about to fall the whole time, and I had trouble exhaling so I was taking super short breaths and sucked through air quickly. After the first dive, I got used to it and could finally relax my breathing. It was a very odd experience and very unusual because nobody ever warned me about that.

I don’t have a fear of heights but when I’m way up high and looking down I get this weird fluttering feeling in my gut and I feel like I might pee myself.
