The Halloween Scare-All

Creepy Hannah Montana Ninja with scary Pumpkin Eyes reporting for duty.

Been trying to justify getting this over the last few days.

Ah, yes, the putting a phone in your face masks. lol

Honestly, I think it's cool, but I'd like to know what it looks like in the dark. Are you going to look weird with a lit up phone image coming out of your face?

Arise, thread! And arise, Halloween avatar!

Watched Midsommar which was pretty good. Had no idea what it was about before seeing it.

Thinking about re watching The Creepy Adventures of Sabrina on netflix.

Watched Haunt 2019 which is a escape room/fun house type horror film. I liked it for the most part. Very good for Halloween. The ending is kind of muddy. A number of times you will wonder why didn't they just kill him when they had the chance. Maybe take that weapon and use it. Also people get hurt and the injury is forgotten about later on. But if you ignore those things the movie is fine.

That's the best way to see it, I think. Although I kinda knew the plot, I still really enjoyed it.

Watched Terrifier on netflix. Clown goes on a killing spree. Gore to the max. No reason given for the killings. I would only watch this if you want blood just for blood. Had a few sound problems. Acting was what you expect from a B movie. The clown did a good job considering how they used him.

Good movie for Halloween. Happens on Halloween with people in costume.

Watched Pet Sematary remake which was terrible. Watch the original instead. They had some good ideas but didn't hit the mark. To give you a idea at how wrong the movie is they never explain why cemetery is spelled wrong. Unless I missed it they never show a Pet Sematary sign. There was a moment someone was reference but I'm pretty sure they never brought her up before hand.

Watched In the Tall Grass on netflix. Pretty slow to get going and lacks locations. Most of the movie is people yelling for each other. I didn't really care for the movie. Movie wasn't scary but had some cool scenes.

Watched the 1st Evil Dead. The pencil scene still makes me cringe.

I need to watch Evil Dead again. I have only watched it once.

Just watched IT chapter 2 which I liked a lot better than the first movie. I wander if the CGI was done by the same company throughout the film. The quality didn't seem consistent throughout the movie.

Killer clowns are always good for Halloween movies, especially if they are from

Spoiler:

outer space.

Watched Crawl sometime ago but thought I'd bring it up. Kind of a monster movie if you consider alligator monsters. The movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. The acting was good. The special effects were good. I'm not sure if they used real gators or not. I liked that the movie didn't go to crazy with a super intelligent gator that magically knows everything a human will do.

No Halloween themes going on in this movie but it is good for a scare.

I heard some good things about Crawl. I may have to give it a look-see.

Watched The Blackcoat's Daughter and don't know how I feel about it. I'm going to have to watch some explanation youtube videos for this. First 40 minutes nothing really happens except for a couple of small scenes. Most of the movie is trying to figure out what is going on or if something is going on. I don't know if all the victims were good people. Some were good people. I have no idea even what to say about this movie. I don't understand the rules of the monster or if there is a monster. Might just be crazy people doing crazy stuff.

I feel the movie might be to smart for me but I didn't hate it. I'm pretty sure you don't want to know much about the movie if you plan on watching it. There is a black coat in it and a couple of daughters.

I watched Blood Quantum at a film festival this weekend, it's a really great new indigenous Canadian zombie film.

It's a fun gory zombie movie, but like other good zombie films it also uses the genre to explore some deeper issues -- in this case some of the issues faced by indigenous Canadians, particularly those living on reservations. Just as George Romero used zombies as a commentary on modern consumerism in Dawn of the Dead, Jeff Barnaby uses them as a commentary on colonialism.

It also definitely pays its dues as a horror movie, with buckets of blood and gore and some pretty gruesome zombie kills. The opening scene is one of the most memorable horror intros I've seen in quite some time.

I don't think it's too widely available yet, but if you get a chance to watch it I highly recommend it.

After having the movie explained to me I think it is great. Most people are probably less stupid than me so might get it without it needing to be explained to them.

Watched Annabelle Comes Home and liked it. I only seen two other movies in the series. You don't need to have watched any of the other movies in the series but there were some references to the the movies I have seen. No real gore just ghost type scares. Not a lot of Annabelle for movie called Annabelle Comes Home.

One thing that was stated in another movie that wasn't in this movie is why doesn't the demon/ghost or whatever kill people outright. It needs to get you scared and it needs you to give it your soul willingly.

No Halloween references but ghost and demons are the stuff of Halloween so I think it is a good movie for Halloween.

Watched The Babysitter in netflix and really liked it. The movie is a horror comedy with lots sexual jokes and gore. The movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. The actors all did a good job including the kids. The gore was done well. I was never bored.

There are no Halloween themes. I don't think this is best Halloween movie unless just having gore makes it Halloween movie for you. Still a great movie to watch.

For a good Halloween themed show I suggest The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. One of the best shows I ever seen. This is the ultimate ghost story that has many levels to it. As disturbing as this show is it only has one jump scare in the series and its a good one. One nice touch is that some has stated that each of the kids represents a stage of grief. Keep that in mind and see if you can guess who represents each stage.

This show is indeed top notch and absolutely made my October last year. I appreciate all your posts, keep them coming! I'm still searching for something to watch one of these evenings.

Still going through Ash vs Evil Dead - juuust started Season 3, we dig it - over-the-top gore. Sometimes I laugh my head off, sometimes I nearly throw up.

I recommend, but.... there might be something wrong with me.

I thought the Evil dead tv series was great.

Just watched Little Monsters from Hulu. Another horror comedy centered around zombies. We have a kindergarten teacher from Wakanda so you know she is a bad ass and a super slacker guy. These two are trying to protect the kids from the zombies and from what is really going on.

This move doesn't have a lot of gore. However, the language is very vulgar. Most of the laughs comes from using naughty language in front of kids or getting kids to say bad words. So this is very low hanging fruit here. I got kind of bored with the towards the end but I did laugh a few times.

I didn't really get the name. I guess the kids are suppose to be the little monsters but they are just nice kids. There are kid zombies but they are never the focus of the movie.

Watched The Prodigy which was blah. The movie is about a super smart kid that goes bad. Think Bad Seed or any kid murderer movie. This movie didn't break any new ground. I think I missed something or there is logic bug. I'm not sure why the kid is super smart. There seems to be time where the kid shouldn't be super smart. There could be a logical reason that I missed.

Is this a good Halloween movie? hmmm I don't think so. There are no Halloween themes. Gore is kind of light but lots of stabbing. You get a stab, you get a stab everyone gets a stab. I didn't find it scary at all. For a kid gone bad movie rewatch The Exorcist instead. I haven't seen The Exorcist since I was a kid. Why did my mom let me watch The Exorcist? That is some messed up parenting. I was just watching a breakdown of that movie and many things just went over my head as kid. I was super shocked about what is in that movie.

And neither Fred Savage nor Howie Mandell make even a cameo.

My Fat Thor costume was a hit at the concert we went to last night. A guy dressed as Beetlejuice even asked to take a picture with me.

A couple of people thought I was doing Lebowski, which to be fair is not far off. Without Mjolnir it's almost indistinguishable from The Dude.

I'll post pics when I get them.

Ooof, THAT Little Monsters is a rough rewatch.

I forgot the original Little Monsters existed.

Watched Cronos which is a older foreign movie that came out in 93. The movie is a odd take on vampires. A old man finds a device that turns him into a vampire. Another old man wants the device and tries to get using a thug. In the middle of this conflict is a little girl that loves her grandfather.

The movie isn't scare and doesn't have any real gore. I did like watching the movie but think most people will hate it and think it is boring. No Halloween themes. The vampire is done is such a odd way I can't count that as being a Halloween theme. Movie takes place on Christmas. So not a good Halloween movie.

Watched Overlord and Ma and liked them both. Neither are good Halloween movies nor are they scary. Overlord is like a live action Wolfenstein. The opening scene was just like one of the games. I guess it has some zombie like creatures that puts in the horror genre but like I said it isn't scary.

Ma was surprisingly good. I wasn't sure if it was a horror movie for a bit but it is. Kind of a black mirror vibe. Also kind of sad. This is one of those movies that I like but don't think many people will.

I've really been wanting to see Overlord. What service or whatever did you use to watch it?
