NFL 2019: Week 2

Wonder if this has anything to do with the argument he got into with Marrone after Marrone failed to challenge the questionable Hopkins catch. Looked like they both got pretty heated afterward.

That seems to have been a catalyst, but it has been building for a while. Ramsey wants to get paid now. He wanted a new deal before this season, even though he still had both this season and his option year next season to go before approaching free agency. He was even tweeting "when I’m gone from here, y’all gone miss me" during the season last November.

Well Milkman, the Dolphins and Jags both have rookie contract 1st round defensive backs demanding trades. Hope you're ready for Vernon Hargreaves to demand to leave town.

It's a shame seeing Ben and Drew go down for the season and most of it so late in their careers. I am sure with their competitive nature, they will be back.

What a long way we came when players were with franchises for years and nowadays, and not just in football, players can ask for trades or just force them.

Only Ben is expected to miss the whole season. Brees is expected to miss about 6 weeks.

Psha, he's been talking more than playing lately. I doubt he brings in much.

You should see the Jags fans on Reddit. They're convinced Jalen Ramsey is the franchise and everyone else can just hang. Of course, most of them were convinced Bortles became a great QB in year 4.

It's actually kind of crazy just how much more grounded in reality the 49ers fanbase was during even the Harbaugh fallout and the Tomsula and Kelly years than the Jags fans are basically every year. I've spent 20 years at various Jaguar fan discussion areas, and it so often feels like being in Idiocracy.

Florida.

Ramsey is on the AB track. I'm sure teams are thrilled to trade for him with that other fiasco going on.

Wtf is up with folks wanting out so bad? I get the Dolphins' players, but everyone else has a chance. The Bills are 2-0 you could be too!

I missed adding that in, thanks

So I realized something today after ruminating on Josh McCown, whom I've never really noticed before because new Football fan and etc. and I hadn't really seen the guy before.

His face looks like the original Doom Marine but with a real "O'Doyle Rules!" quality to it. At least, when he's wearing the helmet.

I have nothing of value to add, really. Just something I noticed.

That is quality gif snark right there. Unfortunately, while I still root in some level for guys like Mike Evans and Lavonte David, the Bucs can just lose every game at this point considering the QB they're rolling with.

Wanna cheer for the Jags then?

Oh, God, no, but, if I ever decide to become almost suicidally depressed and need to find a way to make things even worse, I'll give you a call.

Ugh. Don't watch that replay.

Wait, people are on social media complaining that Browns - Jets is bad viewing?

Remember when the Jets QB depth chart had Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg? Boy they must be glad that's over... uh...

Steelers reportedly trading their 2020 1st round pick for Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Sam Darnold is probably at home saying, "can't you just say I'm out with an illness?"

I watched the first half of the Browns @ Jets game and uh... it was pretty interesting. After a loss to the Falcons it's good to look at other teams and think "Huh... even without some of their best players the Eagles aren't that bad."

Was entertaining to watch, but some of those hits were looking brutal.

With big Ben going down isn't this kinda head scratching? Couldn't this be easily a top 15 pick? I guess they have seen enough to value him higher and want to front load their roster. *Shrug*

Dolphins currently own all the picks in the 2020 draft.

Trust the process...ed tuna.

Jeez

Eli Manning: Third and fourth downs: 4-of-12 for 22 yards with three conversions, one sack, one fumble, and one interception.

I was surprised as well. The way things are going, it can be a high pick. He’s a good player but I think they gave up too much.

ESPN reporting Jones replacing Manning as starter.

Ah! I think I understand. OBJ has been traded away. Half of the starting receivers that remain still aren't starting. The secondary is made of tissue paper. And the team is 0-2. And everyone from the GM to the person who sweeps the home team locker room is looking for holiday deals for January.

... And THIS is the moment to make Daniel Jones the starter!

What do they expect him to achieve?
What do they expect him to learn?
How does this move the team forward?

I am genuinely mystified. I'd love to know what other GwJers think is the thinking behind this.

What is always the thinking when they throw a young QB to the wolves? He'll put the whole team on his back and carry them to glory! Rebuilding teams almost always start with QB, and they either sink or swim (or get sacked a million times and end up shellshocked a la David Carr and Deshaun Watson).

It's the Giants - does there have to be actual thought behind this?

Exactly, the Giants have shown over and over lately that they have no plan and are operating in reactionary mode pretty much all of the time.
