Well, that kind of visualization is what Tableau does, if you have a license in-house (or a budget).

I might kiss you.

Yes I was going to say that is exactly what Tableau is for and it can use Excel as a source. Of course a developer seat is about $1,500 and then an annual maintenance fee.

I've got a 300+ GB itunes library that's mostly from CDs I own and have ripped to my PC. Currently only about 50% of my music fits on my aging and obsolete ipod classic. What's the best way to get this music to "the cloud" so I can stream it from anywhere?

I have a question. Purely hypothetical. Let's say you printed a couple hundred pages of a FFVIII FAQ from GameFAQs and you used your work printer and paper to do it. Is that fraud? Or perhaps theft?

Do you want to using a streaming provider? If so then Apple Music if your target devices support iOS or iTunes. Or do you want to host it yourself on hardware at home? Or do you want to host it yourself but in the cloud like in a AWS instance that you can point streams to? It really depends on what ‘anywhere’ means to you.

Totally depends on your company policy. In most cases I think they would call it theft.

I use both google music and amazon music. My music directory is monitored by both so when I put music in it the songs show up on amazon and google. They don't upload the music. They recognize you have the music so you can stream a copy they have. Maybe music is uploaded if they don't have it. I don't think I own any music that can't be bought from them so I can't test it.

Misuse Of Company Resources, I reckon.

I'm not opposed to having access to a streaming provider, but I really want access to My Collection of music that I've been curating according to my tastes since the mid to late 80s. Streaming services may not have some of the more unusual stuff in my collection. For example, a Kpop group, LOONA, has solo songs by all 12 of their members and they aren't currently on Apple Music due to some rights issues.

At home I currently have all I need- a sonos speaker that connects wirelessly to my PC and can play anything in my collection.

In my car I use my ipod, but I could stream from my iphone via bluetooth.

At work I use my ipod with headphones at my desk. I could stream from my iphone if I got bluetooth headphones, or an adapter to plug my headphones with the traditional jack into my iphone.

Tscott wrote:

That's why Apple Music was suggested. You can upload your own tracks to have them live alongside the music provided by the service.

To me, this is a critical, must-have feature of any music streaming service. As such, I only consider two services to be of any worth: Apple Music, and Google Play Music, both of which offer this.

GPM has been my go-to for years, but sadly, Google is trying to replace it with YouTube Music, and the early design of that service makes me think Google is abandoning what made GPM good.

Apple Music, thankfully, is there to fill the void, and I am in the process of filling that service's catalog gaps with my uploads as I had done with GPM.

Definitely not fraud. Fraud involves deception.

If you use a cloud service like OneDrive, Box, Dropbox you can try the CloudBeats app to stream directly from those cloud services.

Look into iTunes Match. Apple Music is $10/month but iTunes Match is like $25/year. It will match your music with what is available in iTunes and then upload anything that isn't available.

Nonenumerated benefits and compensation.

If you know whether the ball is heavier or lighter, you can do it in three moves pretty easily: Weigh 4 against 4, keeping 4 out. That narrows the problem to 4 balls. Now weigh 2 against 2, and then 1 against 1.

If you don't know which direction the ball is off, though, then it's harder, and I'd probably have to look up a solution. I don't think I'm smart enough to figure it out on my own.

Found the government employee!!

Or at least that's how I hear those around me justify it.

As far as I remember, Match just lets you sync libraries across devices, it doesn't actually let you stream from the cloud. It is great to get higher quality versions of songs you have or easily keep libraries in sync across multiple computers. Maybe it has changed since I last used it a few years ago.

Do you need to use iCloud? Or do you have to keep the audio files on your iPhone memory? Apple Music is pretty much the only way I listen to music.

I too have some super obscure music that I love that’s sitting on a hard drive. I haven’t been able to listen to that in years. There’s absolutely no chance that Apple Music has these recordings in their library.

Throw them up on a cloud service and use CloudBeats.

You can also set up a Plex Server and stream the directly from your home setup!

I'll hypothetically go with that. And considering that we conservatively use around 15,000 - 20,000 pages for copy jobs a month, I don't think one little completionist guide will raise any red flags. Hypothetically.

RawkGWJ wrote:

Neither. Well, technically the option to upload is called "iCloud Music Library", but all you need is an Apple Music subscription, not iCloud.

Add songs into your local iTunes, select "Add to iCloud Music Library", and it will upload the tracks, which can then be found on Apple Music on your other devices.

Dope! Now I just need to find that hard drive and hope that it still works. Haha.

I streamed stuff on my work PC with it all the time. Unsure if it was the Match service or iCloud though so maybe. Recently switched to Apple Music because I found once I replaced the speakers in my car (which is where I do like 90% of my music listening) many of my twenty year old mp3s sounded like crap.

Hmmm, if you take the pages home, then probably “theft”. Printing them while on the job, also “mis-use if company time”. Also missed opportunity costs because the printer was busy doing your print, while it could be doing “profitable” printing. Even if you replaced the pages... there’s still the ink/toner, and the wear and tear on the equipment.

You gotta have a real stickler if they’re going to go that far, though....

I'm hearing some WF&A all up in this thread.

Cool I have google music because I signed up for YouTube premium and never cancelled. I played around with it a little bit but didn’t realize I could upload my own music. Looks like 50,000 is their max, and I’ve only got a bit over 30,000. Going to have to try it out!

Why do some games, such as Chess or Rugby, stay relevant for a long time and will any video games ever do so?

Tetris will.

Minecraft and pokemon probably will. New players keep picking them up probably by being introduced to them from older players.
