Old Video Game Commercials

One of the first that really made an impression on me.

My favorite Atari game, Yar's Revenge. It's way too cool for these dorky kids!

Atari did have some good (in a manner of speaking) ads.

Yeah, this is my go-to when people reference weird & crazy old game commercials.

So damn good.

Continuing the, "Well that was unexpected." always loved that old Battletanx commercial as well.

The commercial I remember the most because of the ending.

But don't forget commercials with future stars in them.

I will see your Atari commercials and raise with Intellivision commercials starring George Plimpton (kids ask your parents)

For the record, I've never been better at any game than I was at Astrosmash.

Speaking of which...

What is it with that game inspiring some pretty rocking 80's tracks?

I've seen this before, but never with subtitles.

What a great thread!

These were always funny to me.

I was a Nintendo kid but I always secretly thought this was funny.

Sega did kinda own the big N in that one.

One of the all-time classics

Really recent compared to most of the stuff getting posted but even as a non-Halo player the ending made quite a memorable impression on me:

"There are those who said this day would never come...

...What are they to say now?"

Not being a Halo person I wasn't aware of it firsthand but I always assumed this was a tongue-in-cheek dig at people who had decried the sequel would never release?

This will be one of my all time favorites .

It really got me hyped

I remember back then.. walking on the mall at Dallas singing "Genesis does" when my parent got it for xmas!

Sorry, had to do it

That reminded me of this great one too.

Starring a young future star who was known for his size and now is like a ripped viking.

This is probably the ad that made the most impact on me as a kid, and I only saw it on TV once or twice.

Now I want to go find and play Secret of Evermore. That was a very effective ad!
