I think I might go with FL4K and his monkey because there’s a skill that lets your pet revive you.

Their skills on other parts of their trees look really awesome. All the character classes look really interesting this time around.

Really hoping they’ve refined the open world, traversal and sidequest aspects. BL2 had a lot of open vehicle areas that just weren’t designed well and side quests that pointlessly made you waste time slogging through big maps.

Hmm. What are points used for? Hope not too many micro transactions.

With loot boxes getting phased out you need to get used to the idea of MTXs. As long as they're not P2W it's not really a big deal.

Different costumes/head changes(for Borderlands 3), weapons/gear for in game(Presequel/Borderlands 2), golden keys, wallpapers/etc.

This and basically "rewards" for engaging. I don't necessarily think they'll include micro transactions beyond purchasing golden keys (which you can get for free anyway) and cosmetics.

Geabox is sponsoring a BL3 Twitch stream if anyone's interested. Looks like FL4K only for now.

Been looking at the character builder and there is a lot of good stuff for most if not all of the characters.
Moze has the least options for me. So she is last despite her splash damage bonuses seeming really powerful.

I am favoring Fl4k but Amara may be hard to pass up due to really powerful abilities mixed with ease of use. And either the ranged, phaselock or fist I could see playing with the melee override of the fist tree appealing me the most. (plus the passive that makes the punch go in a line a la numerous fighting game powers)

It will be really hard to choose which Fl4k pet to go with. The jabber that can wield a SMG and rocket launcher attack skill? The skag that can be upgraded to eridium and create a singularity along with an exploding rift/teleport that does health regen near the blast/rift? A flaming spiderant with constant regen and summoned rakks that deal cryo damage?

And Zane is really interesting because there are a lot of abilities that use your current grenade mod but it is unclear whether those abilities will work if you are replacing grenade usage for an extra action skill. Because there is even a basic skill that lets your digi-clone fire a grenade when summoned, gives a chance to fire grenades, and drops a grenade when killed or after a kill

Your descriptions make me want to play Fl4k. I'm really looking forward to this game. The nebulous, maybe down the road cross save/play gives me only slight pause. I bought borderlands for pc and playstation back in the day; I suppose I could do it again if necessary.

I'm pretty sold on wanting to play them all but Moze (though who knows, I might actually enjoy her when I actually sit down with the game).

Fl4k became a little more appealing when it was revealed they are non-binary and prefer they/them pronouns. This being Gearbox, I'm waiting to see if there's some other shoe that drops (because while the games have generally been decent on that front since 2, Pitchford is someone whose comments on welcoming feminist anger and such always makes me wary).

But, considering my Siren playthroughs so far, and looking at how the action skills offer a variety of options, she may be my go-to for first run through.

I haven't gone into detail with Zane but he is just as nuts. Cryo or rocket drone? Kill skill life steal buff, drone drops grenade, increase duration of kill skills by 7 seconds(ZOMG). There is tons of digi-clone stuff: ignore bullets, clone damage is converted to shield boost, clone takes some of your damage, etc. The shield barrier stuff is pretty nuts too like electrifying it, turning it into a dome, stacking chance to slow that eventually freezes with stuff that plays off that, damage resistance from last damage type hit, reduction to non elemental damage in the same kill skill that converts all damage to non elemental for x seconds.

sh*t is nuts! Oh and I didn't tell you there is a skill at the end of the drone tree that activates all kill skills when you use an action skill...

Little deviation: for work I've been learning the Adobe CC, and for fun decided the video essay was the way to go. My previous exercise was earnest and emotionally raw, so when I decided to incorporate After Effects assets, try some things in my delivery, improve my processes, and up my editing game, I decided to also pay tribute to Borderlands 2 and its still very robust community by ragging on the story and satirizing the sort of numbered list videos that community puts out a lot of. I'm putting it here because I conclude predicting some things about 3 I've started to doubt over the past few months, and it bums me out. Anyway, Here are the results.

Ice T is playing the voice of one of the characters in the game. Not linking the video as it contains some spoilers. So if you want to watch the video, its on you for spoilering it for yourself

That video doesn't spoil anything that hasn't already been released...

Let's Play Borderlands 3 Gameplay - AOIFE LOOTS AND SHOOT LIVE FROM GAMESCOM!

Almost two hours of Amara game-play. The streamer is less annoying than most but still annoying at times.

Borderlands 3 - 15 Things You Need To Know Before You Buy

The above is a good video for anyone who hasn't been paying attention. About all it added that I hadn't heard yet was the extra graphics/performance modes for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. They both have options to run at 4K/30 or 1080p/60 and Xbox One X has an FOV slider.

FYI on pre-load and release times!

Pre-Load:
-you can pre-load 48 hours worldwide

Consoles:
-release at 12am ET on the 13th in NA across the country. That's 9pm on the 12th if you're on the West Coast.

PC:

-PC players get to play quite a bit earlier if they are in North and South America; essentially this moved the release date up a whole day

Anyone see any decent deal on this? I am perplexed that GMG does not have any discount on pre-orders. I guess that is one notch in steam's favor...

I'm likely skipping over this one. There's so much else to play and I still have a desire to experience Borderlands 2 having failed to get around to it.

I pre-ordered for pc. Hopefully we get steam keys in 6 months, but if not, oh well. At least the devs get a nice cut this way, I guess?

I am curious, has this been done before with other games on EPIC and eventually go to Steam?

I don't think the Epic store has been a thing long enough for a precedent to be set but, through all the language used and because there are a ton of customers on Steam, it seems incredibly likely that Borderlands 3 and it's ilk are only timed exclusives.

You have an awesome voice! Really enjoyed the video!

I'd be curious what you learned while learning Adobe CC

Only have a few games have been labeled as full exclusives with Epic while most have been timed exclusives. April 2020 is when the Borderlands 3-Epic exclusivity ends so I expect it on Steam then. It's also been announced that all PC players will be able to play together, regardless of launcher. That was one of my biggest concerns.
