That looks like Destiny meets the old WarHawk games.

I really like the looks of directing your squad while you zip around on your speeder bike/pod racer delivering fire support way more than if it was just you killing everything by yourself.

Maybe I'm oblivious but that sort of real-time strategy/shooter game seems to have been extinct for a few years. There used to be the Brothers in Arms games before Gearbox became a full-time Borderlands/meme company, and there was that one weird X-COM spinoff like 5 years ago and then...?

Naturally, I'm the only person excited.

That soundtrack, too... I'm really loving the song.

Darksiders Genesis video

Looks pretty good to me, too. I just haven't made the opportunity for me to play 3 yet. Loved 1, was pretty meh on 2, but 3 looks good and I liked what I heard / saw about it. But random loot systems are a major negative for me these days, so it has to overcome that hurdle.

Neither 3 nor Genesis works on random loot. In fact, from what I've seen and heard, Genesis is basically Darksiders 1 style gameplay, just in an isometric perspective.

Which is probably why I'm absolutely psyched for it, because after going back and replaying it a third time I've been having a good time exploring more deeply with the combat system. I watched that trailer and know all the button combinations in Darksiders 1 to pull off the moves they're showcasing.

Really, the only bad thing they announced was a co-op Darksiders boardgame that is exclusively available to the $380 edition of the game. Meaning, if you want the board game, you have to also shell out the cash for the expensive Strife statue. I'm hoping THQ Nordic received enough feedback (including my own) that the boardgame sounds nice, but not $380 nice when I've got bills to pay.

Err, I loved the original Startopia, but that video doesn't have any of the feel of the original. I think most of the devs are at Two Point Studios now, who I was hoping would be the source of a Startopia follow-up.

The Avengers gameplay trailer dropped. Looks pretty bad. Animation seems last gen (360 / ps3) with slightly better textures.

Audio is real bad. Thor sounds like Thrall from WoW, Stark sounds like Nolan North, and Cap... wtf even is that accent. He sounded like an Aussie immitating a New Yorker.

Gameplay looks very, very boring.

Yea I noped out of the Avengers game-play video as soon as I saw Thor have to whack some normal dude six times to take him out. It is like the Star Wars games where light sabers might as well just be glowing nerf bats.

Lightsabers one-hit any normal Stormtrooper in Dark Forces II.

Needs more Waluigi singing the Avengers them.

Wow.

That looks...incredibly bad.

Looks like it's going to be good enough for mainstream success and appeal, especially for people with kids that love super hero movies and are going to want to play an action game that's not too mechanically deep or complicated. See: Marvel's Spider-Man.

At the same time, aside from my continued perplexity of "Pre-Alpha" looking so polished in this day and age, it just gives off the feel of a movie tie-in, which is not what Marvel's Spider-Man did. These character designs really aren't working for me, and while I think the voice talent is certainly some of the toppest of notches in the industry, they just don't feel right for the characters. They're either blatantly imitating their cinematic cousins or they're being themselves. The writing certainly doesn't help, either. None of the quips worked for me, and many of them were so bad that I actively stopped and tried to do rewrites in my head.

To add onto some of what was spoken earlier, it's not just that it takes Thor six hits to take someone down. I'm hoping when they say "Pre-Alpha" it includes other presentation elements as well, as there is no oomph to the hits. Every fist should be coupled with a meaty smack or crunch of bone or something to not only illustrate the character's power, but to let the player understand that their hit was a success. I think the worst moment was seeing Hulk do a dive bomb on several guys, and every single one of them got back up. I understand that you don't want the player too over-powered, but this is a tutorial section, clearly. You don't need the player to pull off a full (and obviously repetitive) combo just to knock one dude out.

Overall, each character's section was paced to show you the basics before revealing powers and abilities over time. No different than the Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay. I've seen enough of these things that I get they're trying to reflect the gameplay experience while letting players know what to expect. "Here's a basic combo, but Thor also does this, then he can also do that, etc." But for an enthusiast player that has played a bunch of different kinds of action games, this one feels a bit rough. Not enough to convince me to pre-order so I can test it out in Beta.

It's not awful, though. Just... eh.

That one really screams, thanks for nothing!
Especially since it is commemorating the 20th anniversary which translates to they are releasing the remastered soundtrack more than likely...

Don't shoot the messenger, especially of Sajuuk.

So basically a cyberpunk mix of Titanfall, Mirror's Edge, and Genji-from-Overwatch's-ultimate.

I'm sold... well, if it comes to consoles, at least.

It is on PS4 and Xbox, I was incorrect when I listed PC-only in my post at first.
