Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

3D printed counts as "Handmade item?"

In the Etsy vernacular, it's to distinguish it from a vintage item or strictly retail item.

Talking with the Racing Dorks about why there is so much watch advertising in racing made me jokingly say Timex should start doing it, which reminded me of this watch I had as a kid, then I saw that you could still buy it and here we are.

I was on a business trip with a guy who described himself as a "watch afficionado". Has spent upwards of $30k on watches in the last decade. He went on and on about this shop he found in the mall above Tokyo station that had obscenely priced watches in it.

I can only assume he watches (hah!) a lot of F1.

I think the real answer is that F1's fanbase runs old, dude and rich (c.f. tobacco advertising back in the day). Same reason you still see luxury watches advertised in airplane magazines. Those wankers in the front in business class have money to burn.

Thinking a little more, race locations like Monte Carlo are tailor-made for advertising obscenely priced luxury goods.

Its a rotating skull that glows reds and floats.

It was on sell and I needed it. For some reason it makes noises like it is growling . I didn't know it made noises nor did I know it glowed red. I didn't know it spun around either.

I know a couple of people who might like that. Where’s it from?

Amazon. Just do a search for floating skull. I only paid like $20 or so for it. Looks like the price tripled, well I did buy it on sell.

Did you know you can buy $100,000 'certified pre-owned' watches on Amazon? Very odd.
Some even have seemingly non-joke reviews. I was particularly amused by the Patek Phillipe reviewer who owns 'several' Swiss watches, and who also reviewed the $38 faux fur coat that he got for his girlfriend claiming the size guide was all wrong.

Harley quinn lego light. Lost three keychain lights so got this one. Probably lose this one also. Had a unikitty one and two generic but pretty awesome keychain lights. Maybe I'll keep this one in my man purse instead of on my keychain.

Work Station for my models, gundams, frame girls, and robots. Probably a waste of money. We shall see.

Wyze cam. I have a few of these and love them. This one will be aimed at the front entrance to watch for mail drops. No one wants to knock on a door any more.

Nerf Gun for indoor fun. I kind of been anti toy gun because I think I'd be risking my life playing with the kids outside. Then I thought I could always play inside. I'm not a nerf expert but this particular gun seems to work really well. Might need some more ammo. Spent a good amount of time looking for fired ammo.

Little Debbie cookies. They stopped selling these in the stores near me and I happen to love them. Normally I wouldn't buy so many at once but that is how they were sold. The odd thing was that these were the normal price coming to $2 per box. The peanut butter ones were $12 per box and they are normally $2 when they were in stores. Maybe those are being discontinued.

Ice tea. The only ice tea they sell in the stores near me is lipton. Just wanted to try this since it was cheaper. Brewing a batch now. The one thing I don't like is not having strings.

The Nicpro is case of paint brushes. Be using them for the stuff I'm using the work station for.

Backup Plus Hub to back up the server and laptop. Total space is ten TBs but I'm using less than 4 TBs.

DS game case is next to the wyze cam and nerf gun. Ran out of space on my current case. It also holds sd, and micro sd cards.

Anubis, Battlecat (which is really two rings), Vader , raven and I have jason on my thumb.

I've been missing a few rings. I think the carpet people stole them. Maybe I just lost them.

I forget who makes the other rings but battlecat is made by han cholo. They make a bunch of nerd rings.

Kind of want to punch someone. Where is my antifa outfit. Anybody know where some nazis are? Kidding I don't have a antifa outfit.

Looks nice! Is it for vocals? Other mic uses? Is it a mini PA head?

I just bought a Mi Band 4 fitness tracker. I've been getting healthy and have been a little obsessed about tracking my fitness. This little guy has a heart rate monitor and does automatic sleep tracking. Best part is that it syncs its data with the Apple Health app.

Only $46 on Amazon and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. I plan on only using it for sleep tracking long term because I'll be buying an Apple Watch later this year which still doesn't do sleep tracking and needs to be charged every day.

Note: It is made by Xiaomi which is a Chinese company so the their government likely now knows how sh*tty I sleep.

Wow. So I've never heard of Xiaomi before but they sell a projector I was thinking of picking up for Halloween (just heard of them 2 days ago). it says 3800 lumens but that seems somewhat high for the $65 price tag. Still debating whether I should buy it and return it if it's terrible or just not buy it at all.

I'm going to use it for my guitar into my MacBook. See how it goes with some Garage Band before I make any leaps to Logic Pro X. I have a Rocksmith cable that works (use the term loosely) but it's not very clean. Sometimes, it sounds like garbage.

If I could sing, I could mic run a mic through it to record as well..

make sure you find the ANSI lumens rating, which is going to be much lower, probably like 25-50 for that price. I.e. only visible in near total darkness.

Ooo, nice

In my recording days (very much homemade amateur, i had too much time prior to kids) I used Ableton and really liked it. I felt like I was rebelling against the whole recording world who was using protools.

I ran a guitar and vox into a Line 6 KB37 and it was pretty darn clean! It can be a huge time sink, but rewarding/frustrating all at the same time. GLHF!

I’m assuming you’re going straight from the guitar to the box to the MacBook. Have you ever messed around with micing an amp? That’s something I’ve wanted to play around with for a while now.

The Noblechairs Hero Black/Blue for €391. I did 20 years with my current desk chair, but it can't reach maximum height anymore. I'm 6"6'/1m97, and this one is built for taller people. Here's hoping this chair gets me through another 20 years of gaming/homeworking

I've also got a Wrex sticker for the back window. Thinking about getting a corresponding one that just says in plain text: SHEPARD, to stick on the other side of the window.

All you need now is the license plate to say "Normandy."

Congrats! Use it in good health!!! (As my grandmother always said.)

Actual license plate from my apartment parking lot:

Jonman, I think you need a red/white N7 on the side to really complete the look.

I won’t be able to blame my crappy desktop speakers for my lack of directional awareness, in Squad/ARMA, anymore.
