[News] Post a Political News Story

Ongoing discussion of the political news of the day. This thread is for 'smaller' stories that don't call for their own thread. If a story blows up, please start a new thread for it.

Let's all give him a nice pat on the shoulder to show our thoughts and prayers are with him.

One day the Lord God will take that piece of trash home. And on the day he is buried I will drive my happy ass out to Kentucky to personally spit on his grave.

Yeesh. You guys sound like you have become what you most despise.

Missed you! How are you doing? You ok?

Thanks. I may not post as much as I once did, but my lurking skills have vastly improved.

Fun fact. I have always been this angry.

Oh crap, am I gleefully holding up life saving legislation in the US Senate and am not realizing it?

Exactly this. Attitudinal disgust, anger, and frustration are markedly different from actions and behaviors.

I am not the one keeping Americans from taking action about unremitting racist rhetoric, hate crimes, and gun violence.

The thought that I should give one hot sh*t about poor ol' Mitch's fractured shoulder when that piece of trash has done more to promote misery and suffering the world over is disgusting.

He gleefully enjoys taking money from the poor, care from the sick, and allowing our Racist-in-Chief an unimpeded platform to push a facist agenda.

The incredibly sad thing is that the above statement is not hyperbole.
Trump did not initiate the Republican party's thumbing their nose at established norms. That was all Mitch.

When he said his only priority was making Obama a one term president, he was leading the GOP to the party over country mindset they are using to make every decision now.

If you stare into the abyss long enough, you'll become an abyss parmigiana.

I have to congratulate McConnell on finally bringing something to the floor.

Probably broke his shoulder running to answer the phone from his Russian Handlers..

Yeah I was going to say that I don’t like being happy about a fellow American’s misery. But then I remembered he’s a Russian asset so screw him.

Thank god that Republican state governments have been systematically stripping away pesky environmental protections.

Who needs them, right? It's not we're literally drinking our own sh*t.

True story: When I was in high school, Mitch McConnell was running for senate, in the race that he would win for the first time. He was at some event that my English teacher went to with her daughter. When she came back, she was really upset, seething actually. We asked her what was wrong in class, and all she would say, while just trying to contain her agitation was: “Mitch McConnell is an asshole.”

That was the first time I’d ever heard of Moscow Mitch.

Mitch's Twitter account is currently suspended. He tweeted an image of tombstones of socialism, green new deal, Merrick Garland, and his current opponent Amy McGrath.

Maybe not a good idea to tweet two tombstones of alive govt officials. Especially right after a shooting. It's almost like a suggestion for the deplorables.

Maybe that was the whole idea. After all, he got it all out there before the account was suspended.

Which account is suspended? His official government account doesn't seem to be, and neither is his official campaign account, which appears to be the one that posted that image (or at least, I can still see it there right now).

Saw a link from another tweet, looked like his senmajleader account or whatever it is. But it's either back up now or that was a different account.

Meanwhile, a trade war:

CNBC: China confirms it is suspending agricultural product purchases in response to Trump’s new tariffs

China confirmed reports that it was pulling out of U.S. agriculture as a weapon in the ongoing trade war.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said Chinese companies have stopped purchasing U.S. agricultural products in response to President Trump’s new 10% tariffs on $300 billion of Chinese goods.

“This is a serious violation of the meeting between the heads of state of China and the United States,” the Minister of Commerce said in a statement Monday that was translated via Google.

It's a good thing trade wars are so easy to win.

Guess we'll be seeing yet another tweet from Trump announcing even more bribes relief for farmers and him insisting that the Chinese government is paying all those tariffs directly to the Treasury.

I have an old 401k that I needed to roll over. My financial planner and I set up an appointment to call in and get that done for today. The flaw in our plan was that this stupid trade war knocked a full $1000 off the account balance between last week and today.

But I'm sure Trump will take care of me just like he did the farmers. I should send him a tweet and let him know where he can mail the check.

He has been ignoring his beloved coal miner's pleas for money after one of their companies went belly up.

His Fatherland "patriot farmers" will be next to get stiffed. The large ag corps will get paid, however.
