Like any other diligent gamer I picked up Rebel Galaxy for free on Epic the other day. Loaded it up, ran some missions, went to check out a bounty and got smoked in moments.
I haven't quite worked out how this game works - like are you stuck on the Y-plane and therefore only shoot broadsides horizontally but some gun turrets auto-track?
I do enjoy the music in the game though, something different to the epic orchestral compositions you find in a lot of other space games.

And once you start getting tired of that it has one of the best custom soundtrack implementations ever. Contextual playlists? How is that not an industry standard?! Genius.
Also, to get back on track in the Outlaw thread: My preorder didn't unlock early access to the game. Does that seem right to you? /Objects in Space

Yes. True 3D movement was one of the most fan-requested features for Outlaw. A larger focus one fighter-type combat was another. We got both!
Edit: ...plus a whole lot more!

Reminder there's a RG catch all where a lot more strategy of the first game is discussed. And there's recent posts there from my run the last couple months.

I loved that system. It really suited me. The new 3D movement is the only thing I find disappointing in this new release.
(Mutters about fans ruining games...)
^ A person should love their cockpit.
It's really easy to love that cockpit.
You should target those turrets on the cap ship! Uh... or ram it? Yeah, ramming it also works. I guess.
Veloxi, this game looks so Privateer it's incredible. Anything (other than setting/story) that rises above that lofty bar, or just sets itself apart from that lineage?

I'm still not sure where he pulled Tanga Alpha Tango from. The only reason I know about that band is that I stumbled across them opening for somebody else in a small Portland club. I'm not sure they have any presence outside the Pacific Northwest. But Number One Rival has been one of my top, "Songs that should have been huge hits" tracks.
So how difficult is it to get Epic Store-exclusives working with a Steam Controller?

Better controls, more mission variety, better dogfighting, more variety of encounters. For example.
Hey now, a man can only get so erect!

*insert "joystick" joke here*
Is it flight stick compatible?
Is it flight stick compatible?
Yes, but they recommend using a gamepad.

Which stick do you steer with? I can see arguments for either the left or the right one.
Finished the original game this morning. Finally ready.
Left stick is pitch and yaw, right stick is roll.
So they want me to swap hands and abandon a childhood's worth of Wing Commander and X-Wing muscle memory? That's a bold move. Does it work?
For that matter, how important is roll in their flight model?
Preordered. It's been a long time since Privateer 2: The Darkening...
ObsidianAnt's preview mentioned that the radial menu is clunky if you're not using a gamepad.
I think the standard things are all supported, but it sounds like it's been designed around a gamepad.
... but does it work okay with a gamepad?
*ducks and runs*
Will it work with a 360 controller?
*Fires countermeasures and hits the afterburner*
