Soul Blazer, I think

You're close. A criminally underrated game.

Landstalker?

If I'm not mistaken it's Illusion of Gaia. I played way too many RPGs on the SNES. You're right, it's criminally underrated.

Correct!

Very close, considering the secret boss!

In the interest of keeping the ball rolling.

Here's another less talked about one I enjoyed a lot.

Was there a Ys remake on the 16 bit consoles?

Is that Wanderers from Y's for the TG-16? If so, one of my favorite games for that weird ass console.

Nope, it's from the SNES and a company that is very famous for their RPG titles.

I don't recognize this at all

Huh. I never played that.

I didn't mean to kill the thread so a couple more clues and screenshots then I'm calling it if nobody gets it today.

The game features locations like the fantasy town of Toronto and The Tower of Light. It also has a secret underground gladiator arena where you can fight to the death for money or just bet on other fights.

Brain Lord.

You sir are correct.

I never hear anybody talk about the game but I stumbled across it at a used game store and played the hell out of it.

And for my selection, I offer the following:

No.

Is that Severance: Blade of Darkness?

That's it. I'm impressed you guys figured it out so quick. I really enjoyed it when it came out in 2001, but I don't remember it being that big of a hit with gamers at large. I still have my CD stashed away; now that I'm thinking about it, I may have to see if I can get it to run.

Well, There's not a lot of choices for chunky early 2000:s meele combat, and the enemy display on the HUD seemed familiar from when I played it back in the day.

Since I won, I guess we need to break out the party hats for the next one:

Never heard of it, but that's mostly because all I was doing was playing Unreal Tournament mods.

Edit: Umm, Evil Within ... 2? 1? One of them.

It's The Evil Within 2.

Good games. Second is a way better game than the first though.

MDK2? If I'm right freeplay as I am at work and don't want to hold up the thread.

Freeplay it is!

I'll take that freeplay! Played the heck out of this so many moons ago.

Is that Sensible Soccer?

Looked up the answer as my first three guesses were wrong. At least I had the platform right. Strange that it looks so familiar, but I´m pretty sure I never actually played it.

Nope. That was my first guess as well.

Nope indeed, similar gameplay mechanics though. I played it on Amiga 500.
