I was all
then Garion was all
and so I said
and then everyone was silent knowing they could just wait me out
and so now I'm all
and here we are, I hate all of you
PREMIERES AUGUST 6TH
Here's to hoping Wentz doesn't buy it in the death pool.
The Chargers
It's funny because it's true.
Looks like Adrian Peterson will be entering camp, newly incentivised.
A story like this suggests that little has changed since Sport Illustrated published an article about bankruptcy rates among professional athletes in 2009.
I know the NFL covers financial literacy during the Rookie Symposium, but I do wonder whether more could be done. More responsibilities place on athlete's agents? A voluntary/mandatory savings schemes supervised by Players' Unions?
I'd feel bad about no longer doing the thread except I don't.
While we're Female Doggoing about threads, maybe we should do preseason picks?

It's the free market at work! Who's the NFL to tell AP that he can't take a multi-million dollar loan from a used car dealer?!
More seriously, though, most people don't know anything about money. (It looks easy enough to invest, right?) The difference is that (a) most people don't have millions of dollars, and (b) most folks aren't being sharked by other folks who want a bite or three from that big ol' stack of hundos.

Guess who's up today in Deadspin's WYTS? Yep, it's the Bucs.
A sample:
You might think that, given Winston’s multi-layered, ongoing public disgraces, the Bucs would see fit to leave him in a Publix parking lot and start entirely fresh. But you know how this works. This is the NFL. NFL teams only make STUPID drastic moves.
That might be only the 10th funniest line in the piece. I'm pretty sure it's the only safe-for-work sentence.
Damn, the one email about there not being many emails was spot on. How do they fill the stadium?
I really feel like the text is pointless, because the picture of Jameis Winston pretty much explains the whole "Why Your Team Sucks" thing in such a neat and condensed kind of way.

It's the Diva List. I think they're keeping him from getting hurt.
They must think he's wing-suiting into practice tomorrow.
Man, everyone still throwing Hue under the bus.
Kitchens is definitely driving the bus now.
In a throwback to Hard Knocks from last season, when Kitchens questioned Hue Jackson for giving veterans days off in camp, Kitchens made it clear that Morgan Burnett was being held out of team drills Saturday to preserve his body, but that he was in uniform and engaged with the group.
“Morgan still practiced," he said. “He just didn’t get a lot of team reps. I think they have to be available. Their teammates over there sitting on a bike? I don’t know what that is. I have never understood that. I don’t want to get into that. That was last year. This is my philosophy, and somebody is going to think I am an idiot, but I do not really care. I am not going to change how I feel because of what somebody else says, what somebody else does or what somebody else thinks of me or how they think I am running the ship.
“That is what I decided to do because I think it builds team and togetherness. If you have guys over there on the bike that can practice, they need to go through individual period. They need to stand by their coach in their uniform with their helmet, ready to listen, learn and teach the other guys. Morgan Burnett has been in this league a long time. He knows what’s going on. That is just my philosophy. They need to be a part of it. They are part of the team so be part of the team.”
I love Freddie Kitchens.

I feel like the details of Peterson's birthday 30th birthday party are relevant to this.
I struggle to sympathize with his problems.
Another win for Steve Keim:
Robert Nkemdiche cut two days into training camp.
Derrick Henry was recently in a boot and is listed as day-to-day. There's an ex-Patriot in charge there so Henry's foot may have fallen off and they'd say he was day-to-day.
AJ Green is out 6-8 weeks with an ankle injury. Word on the street is that the turf was in terrible shape.

That might be the saddest thing ever, as Green was always a reason to watch the Bengals.
Now Cincy is going to be the NFL version of Reddit's Idiots in Cars sub.
Is there a QB in the NFL more boring to watch than Andy Dalton?
Deshaun Watson, although I wouldn't say it's his fault. Bill O'Brien is just the most boring playcaller in the league right now. May boring compared to what you expect a player like that to be able to do.
Jesus.
Jesus.
Terrible choice. Every play is a Hail Mary.
Why was Dan Quinn waving his hand like that? Does he think he's some kind of Jedi?
