Holy sh*t, August!
That video was awesome. I'm so in.
YAY!!!!
I...ummm...hmmmm. I kind of figured they'd do a release like that. Travis had been indicating on twitter that the game was in its final push and would be out before the end of summer.
Looks like the perfect time for me as well. I should be finished or near finish the Mutant: Year Zero expansion by then and while there are a lot of interesting games coming out (Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, Phoenix Point, and Greedfall) before Borderlands 3 none of them are must-buys.
Awesome! I have been waiting for a sequel to Privateer since 1993!
Woo hoo! Finally!
Think I'm pretty close to finishing the story on the original. Might not grind enough for a dreadnaught after all.

Is that all platforms? Can’t watch video.

Probably don't mention The Darkening. Some of us still have trauma. Except I've gone and mentioned it now! AUUUUUGH!
So..... I really wanted to like Rebel Galaxy - the visuals, the music, etc. But I bounced off it for some reason - I'm not 100% sure why. I tend to like more story-driven games, and I have a huge backlog of stuff to get to. Games that are too open-world often feel like they are just trying to fill time (and in this case, space) with the same 5-10 side mission types.
So is Outlaw more of the same as RG but with refinement? Or does it bring a lot more depth and variety to the table? It worries me when you say the story is not important, since that is usually what keeps me sticking with a game.
Rebel Galaxy was a great skeleton of a game but was extremely repetitive. It had an Assassin's Creed 1 feeling of where the mechanics, world, and attitude were all there but there just wasn't enough to do in the game and nothing was dynamic.
Everything I've seen is that RGO is a modern day Privateer. So I would expect as much story as that game had. It also seems like underdeveloped stuff from Rebel Galaxy got fleshed out more in this game with things like the bounty system and getting tips from the bar tender.

No, Blind. PC in August, other platforms “in the coming months.”
^ *tosses you the can of Lysol* Your ship is eating waaay too many 'boom boom tacos'.
Hmmmm, I think I might give this a go when it's out, that looks pretty sweet.
Loved Rebel Galaxy. Love it even more now that I spotted an interview with Travis where he basically echoes all my complaints about Rebel Galaxy's random maps but had decent reasons for going that route. Outlaw will be crafted maps and all that stacked on top of a game that they stole out of my adolescent wish list of what I dreamed a space game could be makes it worth an asking-price pre-order.
Thanks for keeping us teased and fluffed, Veloxi! Really looking forward to this.

“I had a chance to meet this young man and boy does he have Straight to Upper Management written all over him.”
Finally getting into the original and looking up some stuff on Outlaw and I had the following thought pop into my head: "Boy, I hope no one on those big ships thought to use mining lasers as weapons."
